Marlow Briggs and the Mask of Death

While I do like the Mayan themes and fast pace combat, its also pretty cheap and repetivie and obvious a God of War rip off.

While I haven't put in tons of hours into this game, about an hour and 40 minutes now. I have a pretty good handle on what this game is about and what its about, is fun. A ton of fun. I don't get the angry reviews about this game. Its so bizzare and stupid at times but it has also been an absolute blast of a 2.5D sidescroller. Its a button masher and beat em' up with RPG like elements (Collecting XP to level up moves, nothing too intense). But if you go into this like you would with a so bad its good film, you'll end up loving this. Just play with a controller because the mouse and keyboard controls are borked. Just absolutely atrocious. But with all that said, I really enjoyed this game. I can think of numerous people I'd recommend this to. If you're the kind of gamer who loses when dying, I do not recommend this game. You will die, a lot. There's no real punishment to dying though besides maybe you get pushed back about 5 minutes at most. You can tell this game was made on the cheap though. Like the cutscenes. I can't decide if they are really cool and stylized or just cheap. Its those kind that are like still shots of the in game engine but the camera does this cool thing where it swoops around everyone and every time it hides the main character behind the camera it usually reintroduces them doing something else cool. Idk i think its a little of A and a little bit a B. Its cheap but definitely has a neat style to it. TLDR: The game is super cheap at time but theres no real penalty and its stupidly fun to play. If you don't take yourself or your games too seriously, theres a ball of fun to be had here.

Senhoras e senhores que jogo maravilhoso. Marlow Briggs and the Mask of Death foi um grande achado pra mim, nunca zerei nenhum god of war de PS2 (por que não nunca tive um) e é uma felicidade agora ter a oportunidade de jogar um game que se aproxima disso enquanto tem personalidade própria. Definitivamente recomendado por mim :D

Absolute crime this never got a sequel.

This is a hack and slash game that makes fun of the hack and slash genre so I really enjoyed it and thought it was a great time BUT the story is pretty whatever. The gameplay is very fun while being non-stop and there are some cool bosses with the final one being the only one to give me a real fight but the platforming in really really bad, mostly due to the camera which makes some areas really annoying to get through but it's like old god of war so I was kinda expecting it. 7.5/10

85/100 I LOVE IT AND MADE THE 100%!!! A class b movie made game, really cheese. Same feeling as the God of War games from PS2/PSP but with less quicktimes. Decent powers, great weapons and environments. And the mayan mythology, you might think that, since the Mayans were gore fans, the game would be super bloody, if that's what you were looking for, the game is not so bloody.

Era lo mas parecido a God of War en Steam, hasta que llegó el verdadero God of War. El juego va rápido, divertido, y es conciente de que está casi parodiando a otro juego. Tiene muchas set pieces bastamte espectaculares, lo recomiendo, es un buen rato.

Para ser una copia de god of war, no esta nada mal, es el equivalente de comer un maxcoco sabiendo que no sera tan bueno como un cocosete, pero esta bastante bien para el precio que pagaste y suple el antojo, me gusto bastante, con mierda plataformeo digno del hack and slash, y con alguno que otro crasheo, pero gracia al autoguardado no fue nada del otro mundo de efectivamente un 7 de 10.
