i love the RNG, the risk management and the storyline is every good. i do complain alot that the character have to manualy reload the gun whey ran out of ammo. a situation as they need my permission to borrow some ammo :V they also need my permission to attack even with the melee. they could have like pursue the enemies and help the other on their own while on the melee mode. during the attack may have some micromanagement issue, although you can like pause the game and give order but god dayum using the mouse to control has alot of missclick and accidently control other character to move and leave them out of position at time :V personally i let them auto attack because controling them is hassle if they dont do anything on their own especially when you have more then 4 survivors clump up together to manage. and the enemies is likely to be more then 7 and clump up together making it harder for me to tell them what to target. so telling them to attack and then tell them again to attack other target is a stressful thing to do i have one survivor who just sit there not attack back after taking down its target in front of him , there where two zombie in front of him ,he kill the first one but dint attack the other on in front of him :V, yet another situation where he need my permission to attack :V if i suggest something for the dev is that they need some sort of a combat mode setting. from letting them attack freely and agressivly or to manual command to repossition them at time. i love the story and each event has it own dice roll so you dont get the same result on the same dialog.
This game is just not it. Everything about is just frustrating and annoying, ranging from nearly all the mechanics being tied to RNG, to the boring art style and graphics. The combat feels rough and unpolished, with you having to constantly re-target your people on to new zombies and enemies, with no auto targeting options. The majority of the game is just text events that are decently written, but you soon learn what each event does and it quickly becomes stale. This game feels awfully hard and unfair when you don't know how to fight the zombies efficiently whilst your learning the game, as fleeing battles is quite punishing. However it becomes incredibly easy once you know how to take on the zombies and it really just becomes a matter of grinding out more resources to survive and make it to the end, even on hard difficulty. Take a look at the steam trailer. That is quite literally the whole game shown there and if that doesn't convince you this game isn't worth it or what I've said above doesn't either, then I'm not sure what will convince you. Though to be fair everything I've said could be excused as I believe there is only one developer and a handful of other support staff, such as the events writer or the graphics artist.
Try to find a place to rest, attacked by a group of zombies so flee. Try to rest, attacked by z's so flee. Try to rest, attacked by z's so flee but lose an NPC. Quit game uninstall. Try again, get to the last stage with tons of food, ammo. One of my guys recommends scouting, then they disappear (nice recommendation idiot), all my guys are hungry and tired because the end you have to face battle after battle whilst walking in between with zero chance to rest or eat. The last battle is a real garbage fest. Seriously this game isn't worth your time.
Interesting idea for a game and it was decent until the combat happened. When you are the only survivor it is fine, even the combat is fun. However once you start to get more survivors, the combat becomes more involved and annoying. Basically if you have 3 survivors for example then combat is (pause) issue commends, a few seconds later (pause) issue commands, rinse and repeat every few seconds. It gets annoying. It would be so much better if the survivors you control can act act for themselves and then you can just jump to any survivor as you wish. But you have to keep pausing and giving commands. Maybe I am missing something but this is the only way I found to do multi survivor combat. So I will not be playing this game. Some may like that kind of combat and that is fine. But for me it's a refund.
DO NOT USE THE CROSSBOW!!! Michael is the main character who's weapon is the crossbow and it only fires once. Also, 3 runs now that my characters have died from not fighting back, just standing there with full health and not attacking, no matter what weapon is in their hands. and i don't like the idea that Michael's pregnant wife is obviously having an affair with Mark, but you cant do anything about it. If Mark dies, Jenny will die or leave, and then Michael dies
6/10
I understand being a hard game but failing to investigate 9/10 times when the success chance says it is 88% is not hard, its lying.
Look, I don't really know whether or not to like this game. I love zombie games and management sims, and this is an acceptable cross between the two. Problem is, there's a fad nowadays to make games that are stupid difficult. Dark Souls, Elden Ring, Darkest Dungeon, and this one. I'm all for Rogue-like and Rogue-lite games, but can't we have just one difficulty mode where "Easy" ACTUALLY MEANS "EASY"? I can't even get past the first character. Farthest I got was getting his son, who then almost immediately died. Call me a noob, tell me to 'get gud son!' or whatever the trolls say nowadays, but I like to have fun while playing games, and restarting the exact same ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ level every ten minutes is not fun. I'm recommending this game because I don't think it deserves a dislike, it's just too difficult for me personally to enjoy. TL:DR: If you like rage-quit games, this is for you. Otherwise, there's a slew of other zombie games out there.
A very addictive, fast-paced zombie survival rng. Sometimes you just get very bad luck, but with resource management and proper character maintenance, you can create strong armed groups to defend against the various enemies, both undead and not. Has some awesome story writing, I can't give any spoilers as I myself still don't know the entire story, and I feel it is worth playing through to experience, although it is a lengthy game that will require some free time. Only experienced a few bugs so far, one where I accidentally scored 40 rations from a single battle, which I cannot complain about at ALL lol, and the second where my group rested for the night, and Olivia was just chilling on the ground, although she had full health and was not dead or hungry. She could shoot and do everything, even slide across the ground hilariously, but sadly could only slide up/down. Seems the bugs are RNG, too. Adds to the fun in my opinion.
I hate giving indie games a thumbs down review, but I couldn't stomach playing this title after just 11 minutes. Everything is extremely basic, from the visuals to the gameplay experience. Every system is as watered down and barebones as possible, with nothing engaging. Travelling is just watching the poor pixel art character walk in place until you arrive at the destination. Scavenging is just clicking a singular button, and depending on the difficulty you chose, there is a 20,40,60% chance of having to fight. Combat is a little blue bar next to your character that slowly fills up, and when full, you shoot and maybe you hit, maybe you don't. Health system is just a number. You have X amount of health. Consumables restore Y amount of health. The end. Dialogue choices are lame, as every one I encountered was on rails, as all but one of the options were greyed out for some reason. For me, the final nail in the coffin was the atrocious writing. Not only was the literary quality childish, like a primary school students free writing story, the content was off topic and absurd. After arriving at the protagonists ex-wifes apartment, he finds his former wife dead on her bed, with her face chewed off. He finds a note from her abusive boyfriend detailing how he has taken the protagonists son, whom he intends to use as bait and resents having to look after, and all the main character seems to care about is that this man doesn't keep the cabin he lost in the divorce clean. It was stupid, immature and at this point I hit alt-f4 and will never be playing this title again.
