The successful indie survival RPG "Dead Age" is back with a vengeance! No other game offers this mix of role-playing, rogue-like, fast-paced turn-based combat and survival all in one. Inspired by Darkest Dungeon, Fallout 1+2, This War of Mine and The Walking Dead.

Quick and honest review (non-biased): This is a hardcore zombie survival RPG with lots of elements put into one game. It is a game where you manage a base, explore for supplies, help survivors, and work with factions. With that said, you are presented with lots of options to choose from on a daily basis. In this kind of game, every choice does in fact matter. That is pretty much the jist of the game. Why I am not recommending it (biased): The game just feels really unbalanced and it is trying to combine elements from too many different games (read the game description). I know I only have 9 hours in, but from those 9 hours I saw a lot of what the game was. Quick and dirty bullet point: > Base supplies: - Vary scarce and hard to keep in stock > Survivors: - Player has no say whether or not a survivor is welcome and this greatly increases the difficulty for base and supply management. - Also to add, if you assign a survivor to do anything and you have no food or water in stock, they become depressed. This makes them utterly useless to do anything and this is what killed the game for me. > Exploring: - Does not auto scale based on the size of the party you venture out with. That is all I have to really say. If this is in fact your kind of game, then I highly recommend it!
I feel like I'm repeating other comments, but that's fine. This reinforces other commenters' positive reviews. I played the first one, and waited until this was on sale to buy it because the first one was a 7 or 8 out of 10. I think I got a really good deal this way, because this game is a 9/10 in my book, and I got it for 1/2 price, I think. The turn-based combat and character development works just as well, if not better, than in the last game. You still have to manage making your survivors more combat ready or more skilled in survivalist skills like hunting and farming and making ammo. The factions are done well. They're not that complicated / deep into plot mechanics, but you are getting some fun plots. Nothing fancy, but consistent with the world.
Much better than first one, but now we need remakes or something since it continues the story of the first part
I explored as much of the map as it would let me and there were areas that require Faction Points with various groups to get any further. The game just became a no-stop grind for resources that I'm not willing to continue. I would give this a game a, "Maybe". If you like grinding and zombie games then buy it. If grinding is not your thing then I'd recommend a pass.
Another game with annoying systems, bad designs, too much hand holding, and just not fun to play. How do you make a game "inspired by" Darkest Dungeon, Fallout 1&2, This War of Mine, and the Walking Dead; yet manage to fumble every single one of them and leave it feeling like none of them. 0/10
It's not really a bad game, but for me the negatives outveights the positives, so lets go with simple list here. pros: +the begining feels quite hard and every victory is earned, ammo and resources are scarce, exploring is fun +the story is decent +combat system is fine and fun cons: -The combat gets repetitive quite fast, and it is even worse since you cannot respec to try out different skills. And yoiur other team members who are stuck in camp for some time are behind in levels, so not really helping to diversify either. Yes, you can make another run and spec differently... but it was not fun enough for me to go that way. -Resource tedium. What is fun in the begining gets quite old really fast, even if you max out farms, you are still loosing food, not to mention you need to keep getting seeds, because it is only logical that when you grow crops you do not get seeds back, that is how agriculture works. -Base building is not great, no real options and even when you max something out, it is not bringing lot of benefit. All in all, i wanted to finish the game, but i could not bring myself to do so. It seemed the story was culminating and when i figured out there is more i just did not want to do more of the same combat.
This is a bad grinding game. After grinding for about 20 hours, I used cheats to 1 hit enemies with a shotgun and still made little progress. This way finally the mediocre story got rolling. Endless back and forth is so annoying, to get from quest to quest. Developers did learn nothing from their first bad game! It is even more tidious this time around. The start is overwhelming with all those different stats and items and abilities. But in the end you end up using only 2-3. 50% is useless. 60% of base "improvements" are useless. Everything cost "materials": crafting ammunition/medkits/weapons/armor, improving equipment, base improvements. you can decide: do you want a good gun with no ammo, ar ammo, but no armor? Collecting this ressource is so tedious. 50% of the game time. I hate the ending.
Everything I crafted and worked so hard for, is taken away from me. I hate games that do this! And endboss is a giant bullet sponge that can 2-hit you. Game over. Permadeath.
After failing, or in my case finishing the grind after ~40 hours, you can start over with miniscule stat boost (e.g. +5 strenght). What a joke!
经常莫名其妙卡死,玩了45分钟,遇到三次卡死,很难推荐这个游戏。
遭遇战太频繁了,即使做任务降低了威胁度也还是太频繁了。
