Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Fun for the first few hours, then it becomes impossible. I do actually like the mechanics of the game, but when your enemies become so ridiculously over-powered that there is absolutely no way to beat them, it stops being funny and seems to be more of a rip-off...

Marble Duel is a puzzle RPG developed and published by HeroLabs that blends the mechanics of a match-three marble shooter with turn-based combat. What appears at first to be a casual, relaxing game quickly reveals itself to be something far more strategic and demanding. Players take on the role of a young magician thrust into a world overrun by witches and monsters, where every encounter is decided by magical duels fought through matching marbles on a board. Each marble color represents a different kind of spell or effect—red inflicts damage, blue builds a shield, green restores health, and so on. Battles play out turn by turn, with each move not only determining your next attack but also shaping what opportunities your opponent will have on their following turn. This structure transforms the familiar mechanics of marble shooters into something more akin to a tactical duel, where positioning, timing, and risk management matter as much as accuracy. The visual presentation is one of the game’s most appealing elements. Marble Duel adopts a storybook art style that pairs hand-painted backgrounds with charmingly animated characters, giving the world a whimsical and slightly gothic tone. The fantasy setting is filled with magical creatures, mysterious forests, and sinister villains, all brought to life with colorful detail. The story, though simple, gives enough context to make each encounter feel purposeful. The voiceovers and light narrative touches help maintain momentum between battles, while the soundtrack underscores the fairytale atmosphere with melodic, almost melancholic tunes. The production values are modest but polished enough to elevate the experience beyond the average mobile port. Where Marble Duel begins to stand out is in its attempt to fuse strategy and chance. Each match requires players to think several turns ahead, deciding whether to focus on offense, defense, or healing based on the flow of the board. It’s a balancing act between adapting to random marble arrangements and executing deliberate strategies. Success requires reading the board state carefully and anticipating enemy behavior, since many opponents have special powers or play styles that influence how the battle unfolds. As you progress, the game introduces new enemy types, environmental effects, and obstacles, which keep the early stages engaging and force you to refine your approach. Between battles, you earn crystals that can be spent on upgrades, strengthening your hero’s health, shield efficiency, or spell power. This RPG layer adds a sense of long-term progression and reward to the otherwise isolated puzzle duels. However, this same design also gives rise to the game’s most divisive qualities. The further you advance through the campaign, the more the difficulty ramps up—and not always in a fair or satisfying way. The AI grows increasingly aggressive, and because the game is heavily dependent on random marble layouts, victories can sometimes feel as much about luck as skill. There are moments when it feels like the AI is pulling off miraculous chains of combos that a human player could never predict or prevent. This imbalance can lead to frustration, particularly since progress often requires replaying battles multiple times to find the perfect sequence of moves or to get a favorable board. The reliance on chance undermines some of the tactical satisfaction the game builds early on, leaving players feeling as if they’re fighting against both the opponent and the randomness of the board itself. The pacing can also feel uneven. The game offers dozens of battles, each structured similarly, and while the story provides some motivation to continue, the core mechanics remain largely unchanged. After several hours, the repetition sets in, especially once you’ve unlocked most of the upgrades and seen the range of enemies on offer. The combat system is clever enough to sustain short bursts of play, but it lacks the evolving complexity that might keep players engaged for longer sessions. It’s a game that thrives in moderation—best enjoyed in small doses rather than long marathons. The absence of deeper customization or significant narrative branching means that while there’s a sense of progression, it’s a fairly linear and predictable journey. Despite its flaws, Marble Duel has a distinct charm. The fusion of puzzle gameplay with turn-based combat feels refreshing, and its combination of strategy, magic, and light storytelling makes it more memorable than it might initially appear. It’s clear that HeroLabs sought to create something more ambitious than a simple marble-matching clone, and in that respect, the game succeeds. Its visual appeal and the satisfying rhythm of its duels give it an identity all its own. While the difficulty spikes and heavy reliance on luck can be discouraging, players who enjoy games that blend tactical decision-making with chance will find something rewarding beneath its whimsical exterior. Marble Duel may not reach the polish or balance of top-tier puzzle RPGs, but it delivers a distinctive and often engrossing experience for those willing to embrace its quirks and occasional frustrations. Rating: 6/10
