Mail Time

I got this game on HEAVY discount (70% off, £4.64) and for THAT price I would just about recommend it. But for the LISTED non-discount price of £15.49? Not a chance. I'm giving it a negative review score BECAUSE if I gave it a positive one, that would persist after the end of the discount period, and make people think this is worth full price. This was an enjoyable little game. The movement mechanics are fun, the character design is interesting and funny. It is a short experience, but it feels like a game. The graphical style grew on me as I played. The music is pretty relaxing. I loved the gliding mechanic, it felt like a more arcadey version of BoTW's gliding. I didn't try using a controller, WASD was good enough. It ran pretty well on linux wayland without needing gamescope. I found the ending disappointing. I'lll put why in the comments of this review. I also disliked that three of the achievements were based on gliding for lengths of time; I achieved all three just by using the glider throughout the game. The price is ridiculous for what you get though. I played 2.4 hours to 100% achievements, and 20 minutes of that was on the title screen while I went to the bathroom. £15.49 full price, for a 2 hour game with no replayability (£7.20 per hour; that's more expensive per hour than a game costing £100 with only 14 hours of gameplay). Now, at 70% off like I paid, it's a good price; about £2.30 per hour of gameplay. If you want to play it, wait for a sale. It's not worth it otherwise unless you breathe gold. I enjoyed it. If the price were permanently set at the price I got it at, instead of just being a sale, I would give it a thumbs up.

To be clear: I recommend this game if you get it at a huge discount!! My playtime from start to finish of the entire game was 2 hours. (The extra .2 on record shown is from me eating food without turning the game off). It was an absolutely adorable game and I genuinely enjoyed it. I only wish there was more. If I bought the game full priced, I would have been p*ssed because of how short it is. But because I got it as part of a fanatical bundle for only a few dollars with a bunch of other games, it was worthwhile for me. Pro-tip if you're a completionist like me: Make sure you do absolutely everything before delivering the letter to Greg.

I had this game sitting in my library for the longest, waiting to play it because I truthfully wasn't expecting much from it. While it isnt my usual kind of game, it still ended up drawing me in and being fun to play. There isnt much to the gameplay itself HOWEVER, everything else compensates for that in my opinion You can tell so much love was put into the characters, their dialogue was always fun to read. This also goes for the environment, I didnt expect it to be so full of small details but they were there! Speaking of I will give WARNING if anyone is easily motion sick like myself, take caution when walking through any areas of water bigger/taller than you are- screen gets pretty warped and it definitely made me dizzy! Aside from all that my only other complaint is the HUD randomly disappearing, making you seem stuck. TIP: If this does happen to you, hitting escape to force your patch collection to open then reclosing brings the HUD back. Overall very cute game, not super long, I would so recommend for a cozy chill time. I see the love put into it! Sidenote, I will be trying fries dipped in pickle juice now, thanks Shelby.

(Disclaimer: I got this game in a bundle. I'm not too sure if I'd still recommend it if I paid all 20 dollars for it.) A Short Hike, an Etsy shop that sells stickers of capybaras with oranges on their heads, and my tumblr dash circa 2018 all fused together in a freak teleporter accident and somehow made a 3D platformer with a two hour runtime. You get a glider too. It's a quick and benign way to spend an afternoon at least. It's, for lack of a better term, very millennial in its both its writing and art style but I enjoyed these characters and their various adult problems like "why won't my kids write to me" or "I need my landlord to yell at my neighbor on my behalf". I also found it funny that a game that's billed as both "wholesome" and "cottagecore" also has your mailman deliver noise complaints and bills for a good portion of the game like I'm the secretary for the woodland's HOA.

Super cute and wholesome game! Definitely reccomend buying it on sale though, I really wish the game was longer.

It's a cute platformer although the movement is very simple and doesn't evolve, the game's main priority is delivering mail and dialogue between characters so be aware of that. I got it for pretty cheap, and I'd probably definitely only recommend this on sale due to the length of the game and what it offers. For a discounted price I think it's worth a shot if you like the style, for full price maybe only if you wanna support the developers.
