About
NEMESIS DISTRESS is a unique multiplayer Sci-Fi horror experience that aims at creating unforgettable, cinematic moments. Remember – this is NOT a shooter, in Nemesis you are not the hunter. You are the PREY.
What you can hope to achieve is to survive and complete your secret objective as well as main mission. But beware – in multiplayer experience you are not playing a full co-op. Any other player MIGHT be a traitor and will aim at sabotaging you.
Sneak your way around the ship, find useful items, take advantage of the noise mechanic and all the tricks around the ship.
Key Features:
True Horror experience
We wanted to craft a really thrilling environment, where every sound and movement around the ship will get you on the edge of your sit. There are different types of enemies, with the most dangerous Adult, that can one-shot you.
Unique semi co-op
You will need to find a fine balance between collaborating with your team-mates (as otherwise you will not survive) and not trusting them fully, as some of them might have some nasty secret objectives. This creates an interesting dynamic and add a bit of extra layer on the horror experience.
Noise management
Since the alien species on the ship is blind, you will need to be very careful about the sound that you make. But you can also use it to your advantage - throw items to distract enemies and sneak past them…
… or just use flamethrower to scare them away.
Fresh items idea
Since Nemesis is not a shooter, don’t expect too many weapons. Instead, you will have a different “arsenal” – noise detector, hacking tool or good-old pipe will come in handy in various situations.

For a soft 1.0 launch, this game is abysmal. I am under the impression that the devs appeared to have seen the excitement around 'Species: Unknown' and resurrected this title they abandoned in 2022 hoping to cash in. Problem is, they seem to have relied entirely on UE5 and FSR3 as a shortcut to optimization, which did not work even slightly. The performance is just awful. For Reference: I could get decent frames on lower settings, but then I would have to deal with a ridiculous level of pop-in, broken bloom, unrendered textures, etc. Not only that, but standard features such as being able to save my changed keybinds, are just not there. Honestly, a shame. This game has such an AMAZING concept, but it's executed without an ounce of love or polish. Or, maybe it does have some love but I wasn't able to get past the performance issues to see it. What's worse, is normally I'd be happy to stick around and see where the game goes as it gets updated, but seeing the track record of this dev team; I do not have faith the game will improve. I will say this though: If you have a PC strong enough to run graphically intensive, unoptimized games: You could be in for a treat if you can get around the jank.
Developers abandoned the game.
Abandoned Game. Devs have left. Last update was 2022 and will forver will be "Early Access"
"NEMESIS DISTRESS comes out in Early Access 15th of June" I guess that's on me, since I didn't ask: which year?
The game had potential but sadly is dead...no new updates for over a year. Wish I could refund, do not buy unless you see major updates
Abandoned game. Devs are still making new games, so its not like they ran out of money or anything I wouldn't of wrote a review if it wasnt for the fact this is still listed as an "Early Access game"... Its not... its abandoned.. no update since release. So over 2 years... Its a shame, I bought when it came out, me and my partner and my friends loved the Nemesis boardgame.
EDIT: Yes I have seen the update and the return to development this game got February 17th. It was a nice start to get the servers off AWS and done using steam so I could play the game by myself or with friends without having to create a lobby and hope I get a server from AWS a thousand times like before just to play. However, I'm keeping my review as it is below to showcase how long of a wait this was just to get fixes. Push more content and I'll revise my review then. [strike]At the time of posting, Nemesis Distress has halted development indefinitely until further notice. It should be noted however, that the devs for this game are still active. Just not for this game for whatever reason. They made a post about how development was halted on MARCH 23rd, 2023! Yeah... almost a two year anniversary.[/strike]
For a new (2025) alternative that's similar to this, check out the game, "Species Unknown"
Interstellar Marines Part 2: The Vaporware Returns
I really want to play this game, but right now its so heavily unoptimised, basically everyone in the game was running low settings and still getting like 20fps, I want to see this game thrive and be amazing but right now, I cant suggest it in its current state (The tutorial works fine for FPS just not when youre actually playing the main game)
