Peak game based on a peak indie animated series, so overall peak (only complaint is that the companion ai can be a little stupid but other than that basically perfect)

This game is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ SWEET If you've never watched Madness Combat (you should) the story will probably be confusing, but it's still a ton of fun. The combat has a lot of depth, there's tons of weapons with different damage types, armor piercing, etc. and there's a nice variety of enemies that require different approaches to kill. And then there's the "Arena" mode, at first the name made me think it would just be some endless survival mode thing. But it's actually an entire roguelite RPG with it's own story (that ties into the main one). you choose an "origin" which is basically a class with different pros/cons and as you complete missions you can upgrade your characters stats and get different skills/perks, and buy different weapons/armors. Plus you can recruit hirelings/teammates to go on missions with you, and you can buy equipment for them too. They also have classes and will level up too. And of course there's steam workshop support, most of the mods are for the Arena mode and there's a ton that can greatly improve the experience. There are mods that add new weapons/armors, origins, enemies, stages, entire new mechanics, revamps for the hireline AI, and so on. You should absolutely check this game out
Satisfying combat, deep story, banger OST and mod support. Especially recommended to the fans of Madness Combat in general and Project Nexus Classic, as aestetics of this universe were implemented exceptionally well. Additional respect for Steam Remote Play integration. It may be clunky, but that way you can play with your friends even if they don't have the game
If you're even remotely a fan of the Madness Combat universe, this is an automatic buy. Even if not, it's a very solid game on its own. Only cons: the writing is not great, and the companion AI can be a bit dumb (game is better in co-op anyway). These things don't outshine how polished and satisfying the combat is. It plays like the animations, which is the highest compliment you can give it. Just the campaign alone is quite impressive. The levels all feel unique from each other and they all feel meaty in terms of length/content. You also won't believe just how many different weapons they've crammed into this game. Never gets boring. Haven't played arena mode yet, but I hear it has a ridiculous amount of replayability.
Gracias Krinkels.

This game is cool. Enough said. Ok, in all seriousness though, this is one of the most unique and fun games I have ever played in my life. This game has a spectacularly rememberable soundtrack, iconic visuals, simple yet fun combat, and is overall just a good time. Don't get me wrong, I don't think its perfect, it still has its issues and glitches and is much worse on a lower end PC, but I still think that these issues are overshadowed by the sheer number of positive traits this game has. This overall feels like a love letter to the Madness Combat franchise in the best way possible.
