buen juego. y geniales puzzles
Imma be honest, if you're a scardy cat don't play it. I screamed and jumped more times that I could count-only at a moving statue. Also, there are lots of puzzles, so hopefully you're smart
I wont lie I have ultimately mixed experiences... I had fun but It was NOWHERE near as scary as everyone makes it seem Honestly I seem to be in the minority on this but the sound design in this game was part of the problem, at no point the first 90% of the game did I feel unsafe wandering about the house, but BY GOD was there a random creak or groan every 5 seconds, like to the point of being genuinely ridiculous (and once you notice it you cant stop noticing it). I walk through the house and there's creaking floors and things dropping on the floor and it's so unnecessary because nothing of interest is ever happening. It's just to "build suspense" for no reason at all. Also the game relied HEAVILY on jump-scares (which I personally think is indicative of a lesser horror game), with decent tension building sections sprinkled in between, but every time there was a jump-scare the music would get real heavy and weird and crescendo for like 15 straight seconds which... was unnecessary and another example of the weird sound decisions. I've got beef w the sound design. It's linearity was fine, and I'm sure people who hated the obscurity of a game like Visage will enjoy this more. The puzzles were more creative and challenging then I was expecting, but nothing insanely hard to figure out with enough time. The final boss itself was... weird. Like playing a weird song (gave Tiny Tim vibes) 15 times got a bit old, especially with an enemy that could insta-kill you while youre interacting with quest objects. Overall okay game, with nice voice acting and a plot that mostly makes sense (still not sure where the
nazi
comes into play) but not at all scary like I hoped it would be If you're more adverse to horror and playing this on a whim maybe this is for you, but if you're experienced and want something actually terrifying then this is NOT it (Personally Amnesia: The Bunker, Alien Isolation, and Visage were far scarier tbh)
Overall I felt that the story line was everywhere. It wanted to be a lot and everything about horror that it could be. I did enjoy the new invited idea of utilizing the camera but felt it could've been better. 6.5/10

I can't justify this game for the 34.99 price tag. However if you catch it on sale, it may be worth it. It took me 8ish hours to 100% the game, could of took me far less but I wasn't interested in rushing my first play through. The game itself is revolved around a cursed camera and the effects it has had on the main character "Luca" and his family. The story starts off well but in my opinion losses steam about half way through. There are only two portions of this game where you can be harmed or die, other portions are puzzles with clues laid around the house etc. The puzzles are generally mild, and if played on normal difficulty the photos and clues are marked by Polaroids lying around. To me the ambiance of the house was over done, creepy sounds like crashes, thing being moved, tapping etc are just way to frequent and thus takes out the horror element. There are a few decent timed jump scares although not from the monster entity, which the name of the monster just took out what little immersion I had left by the ending. Overall I give MADiSON a 5/10 graphics are nice, movement is smooth, but the dwindling story and fumbling the ambiance of the environment are just things I cant get past and the price is just soooo high for what this is. It is possible to speed run this game in under 1.5 hours, there's even achievements to take less than 40 pictures and beat the game in 2.5 hours.
