very fun
Mad Tracks is an offbeat, energetic party racing game that captures the playful chaos of childhood toy car races and transforms it into a fully fledged arcade experience. Developed by Loadinc Entertainment and published by Plug In Digital, the game brings an imaginative twist to the racing genre by turning everyday environments—kitchens, bedrooms, playgrounds—into oversized tracks for miniature vehicles. Originally released in the mid-2000s and later remastered for modern platforms, Mad Tracks thrives on nostalgia, but it doesn't rely solely on it. Instead, it leans into its toy-like premise with both creativity and a distinct personality that separates it from more serious racing sims or kart racers. What makes Mad Tracks stand out is its spring-powered acceleration mechanic. Rather than holding down a throttle indefinitely, acceleration consumes a wind-up-style energy meter, which automatically recharges when not in use. This leads to strategic decisions during races and mini-games, as players must carefully manage their momentum while navigating often bizarre and interactive tracks. It’s a system that takes a moment to get used to but adds a unique flavor to the game’s rhythm and pacing. Paired with jump pads, power-ups, and absurd level design, the driving mechanics encourage experimentation and lighthearted fun rather than precision and mastery. The game offers a surprising variety of content across two main gameplay types: races and mini-games. With over 40 different challenges, players can dive into everything from traditional checkpoint races to whimsical competitions like car-bowling, toy-darts, or even soccer-style matches using the tiny cars. Each challenge is bite-sized and built for quick replayability, making Mad Tracks an excellent pick-up-and-play title. The mini-games in particular are a highlight, often more engaging than the races themselves due to their sheer unpredictability and inventive design. These events serve as a chaotic blend of physics sandbox and arcade challenge, and it’s here that the game’s personality really shines through. Visually, the game adopts a cartoonish and vibrant art style that fits its toy-themed identity. Environments are playful, filled with oversized household objects and colorful layouts that make every track feel like part of a child’s imagination. The cars themselves resemble pull-back toys or wind-up racers rather than real-world vehicles, further reinforcing the idea that you're racing in a world where imagination reigns supreme. While the graphical fidelity is modest by modern standards, the game’s artistic direction maintains a charming appeal that suits its tone and goals. The visuals aren't groundbreaking, but they don't need to be—the fun lies in the interactions and unexpected moments that emerge during gameplay. Mad Tracks is especially enjoyable in multiplayer, where its chaotic nature is fully unleashed. Local split-screen for up to four players and online support for up to eight makes it ideal for parties, family gatherings, or nostalgic couch gaming sessions. Unlike many modern racers that prioritize solo performance or serious competition, Mad Tracks encourages laughter, sabotage, and wild reversals of fortune. There's very little pressure to win, and a lot more emphasis on just having a good time—something that can be surprisingly rare in today’s increasingly competitive multiplayer landscape. Despite its strengths, the game isn't without shortcomings. Some critics and players have noted that the core racing mechanics can feel floaty or imprecise, and that certain tracks lack the polish or balance seen in more refined titles. The audio design and music, while serviceable, aren't particularly memorable, and some mini-games can feel repetitive over time. That said, these flaws are largely overshadowed by the game’s sense of fun and the sheer variety of activities on offer. It’s not trying to compete with the likes of Mario Kart or Forza—Mad Tracks knows exactly what it is, and it leans fully into its toybox madness. Ultimately, Mad Tracks succeeds not because it's a perfect racing game, but because it captures a feeling—something many games struggle to do. It's the digital equivalent of lining up your toy cars on a kitchen table and letting chaos unfold. It doesn't take itself seriously, and that's exactly the point. For players looking for a lighthearted, accessible, and frequently hilarious racing experience, especially in multiplayer settings, Mad Tracks delivers in spades. It may not appeal to those seeking deep mechanics or serious competition, but for everyone else, it's a wonderfully unpredictable ride filled with charm, creativity, and pure arcade joy. Rating: 8/10

Gra dzieciństwa <3
Mikro samochody, makro zabawa

Tytuł zyskuje przede wszystkim w grze podzielonego ekranu, gdzie można konkurować bądź współgrać z innymi, a to już potrafi wydłużyć zabawę o znaczny czas.
