About
Welcome to Automachef, a resource management puzzler where you design kitchens, program machinery and watch your genius come to life! It’s time to engineer tomorrow’s kitchens, today!
Design and build automated restaurants, then program them to run like well-oiled machines! Do you have a can-do attitude and the know-how to conquer the world of automated restaurants?
Fine tune your mind as you tackle intricate spatial, resource management and scenario puzzles! Not enough hot dogs? You’ll sort it! Kitchens on fire? No problem for a smart human like you!
Take on the campaign levels, traverse your way through the business world in contracts mode, or just go nuts and bolts in the sandbox test mode and play until you get your fill!
All delivered in an abundance by our helplessly misguided human protagonist- Robert Person. Who is definitely a human. Don’t ask questions.
Think you could bring some more pizazz to the table? GREAT! Step on up to the plate and create your own ingredients, recipes and scenario levels via Steam Workshop!

I was hoping this would be a cute, fun, more like an idle game where you're building a restaurant. It's really just a mid puzzle game where the solution is never a trick. it's as straight forward as it gets. As an example: let's say you have a "restaurant" (puzzle) where you have to make burgers, cheese burgers, and double cheese burgers as efficiently as possible. Your immediate question may be something like "how am I going to feed patties from one patty making solution into three different burger assemblers, one for each recipe?" and already you are off on the wrong foot. The "efficient" solution is actually to just have an individual dispenser, cooker, chopper, whatever for every ingredient per each possible recipe and then slap however many "order readers" you can afford afterward until you've told them all "cook one order of this item, every time someone orders this item". The actual puzzle is how do you fit all of these shapes together. Like Tetris, but not engaging

The game feels like trying to optimise a plate of spaghetti to spell out poetry on your plate and then having your english teacher give you an F because you missed a comma. The game penalizes you on wasted ingredients but doesn't actually give you the tools to minimize output of ingredients. Even if you have it set to only dispense ingredients based on orders, you'll still go over the limit because they will send you more orders than you actually need. Not just ingredients, but every aspect of the game does that to you. Storage units are useless because you can't set a buffer number of orders, only an output speed or a trigger to dispense.
How dare you teach me programming the fun way?

Pretty cool automation game but the mechanics can be a bit clunkly and confusing sometimes. Definitely worth it during a sale!
Automation is too nitpicky, the machine selection would benefit greatly from a grid view
