LUXIS is a very basic and rather bad puzzle game. You control a ball light and try to navigate your way to the exit through color coded gates and other obstacles. The gameplay is extremely simple and the production values are very low. The camera is a major pain too, as you can only see a tiny area around you. I wouldn't recommend LUXIS as there are tons of much better puzzle game available on Steam. I received the game for free but this didn't affect my review. The good: - Can't think of anyhing particularly positive about LUXIS The bad: - Extremely simple gameplay - Rather ugly graphics - Poor UI - Repetitive soundtrack - Camera is zoomed in way too close

LUXIS is a 3D physics-based action puzzler. I'm a big fan of Neon Space and this is like a next-generation deluxe version of it.
Gameplay
Each level is a maze and you're the lab rat. You can only see the local room/corridor, not the whole map, so you're exploring the level to find your way around to the final exit node. You control a glowing orb with a comet tail. It starts white but you have to move it onto different colour nodes to change its colour to unlock nodes of that colour to unlock gates to open up new passageways to find balls to move past obstacles to other colour nodes to open other gates... etc etc, you get the idea :) My controller skills have always been poor and as expected for the first few levels my performance was awful. Pretty early on it became a case of not just controlling the orb but pushing floating balls around with it like a football, making it extra tricky. After doing this for a while I discovered that the action of simply moving the orb had become relatively easy and I found myself whizzing around the place at breakneck speed with precise cornering. I was Dumbfounded at my sudden skill (see what I did there?) New game mechanics arrive at regular intervals, no format outstays its welcome. You want to keep playing as it becomes trickier and the obstacles (some of which chase you) ever more interesting. Throughout all levels there are 'Glitches' to collect. They are always in out-of-the-way passages so it's possible to complete levels without collecting any. However, the game has 5 main sections and you need to collect a certain number of Glitches to progress to the next section. I would have thought most developers would try to avoid the word 'glitch' but I'm happy to report that these are the only type found in the game.
Sound & Vision
Graphics are clean and stunning, with perfect lighting. The neon colours are gorgeous and stylishly put together, it's not in-yer-face neon just to get your attention, every colour is meaningful to the puzzle of the level. There is no unnecessary small detailing, objects are crisp and sharp in keeping with the gameplay itself. The long shadows in some areas have a super WOW factor which I've never seen before. Music is brisk and catchy but not annoying. It comes and goes rather than being permanently on. I like that. I left it on. One minor annoyance is that there's no in-game volume control.
Difficulty
It ramps up at a comfortable pace. At time of writing I'm on the 4th section out of 5 and both the puzzle elements and orb control are becoming quite challenging but not to the point of rage-quit... yet!
Performance
With this type of game it's important to have responsive, intuitive controls, good spacing of walls and that kind of thing - there's nothing worse than occasional lag, glitches or imprecise movement to ruin the ambiance. LUXIS delivers with lovely fluid movement and well designed levels that feel natural to play. For example, at the corners of long corridors you find strategically placed 'bouncers' which propel you to the end of the passage, saving you time. It's the little touches like this which make it a joy to play. Windows and Mac are available and Linux is on the way (the dev told me so). Yay! [Update] as promised Linux is now available, it runs like a charm and the cloud support is cross-platform so now I'm off to continue my game in a proper OS!
Steam
Trading cards, achievements and cloud are all included. I would like to see leaderboards added, it's the sort of game that could benefit from it.
Value
50 levels separated into 5 main sections. The levels in the first half of the game all take less than 5 minutes from start to finish, then later on stretching towards 10 minutes. It always takes multiple attempts to complete levels though. I haven't finished yet but I'm guessing I'll get a good 10 hours out of it. There's plenty of replay value - levels have timers on them so once completed you can go back and try to beat your times. Sections also have total time taken. The overall quality is top notch so I have no hesitation in recommending it at full price.
Verdict
Games of this type can sometimes become samey and tedious but LUXIS stays fresh and challenging throughout, with smooth controls and beautiful eye candy to top it all off. Love it. Another poorly made "puzzle" game made in Unity - not only it have very basic steering, and menu, it also have same "level select" scheme as others. Game is pretty boring. There is no story, you have to blindly walk through mazes with bad angle camera... Movement doesn't feel any good - and it's "painful" to fight with this controls.
There is no atmosphere at all...
Hız, kordinasyon ve hafif zekâ gerektiren basit bir oyun. Fena değil görüşündeyim. Çok ucuza ele geçerse oynanabilir.
Dumbfounded does it again! LUXIS is a great puzzle type game that anyone can enjoy! The mechanics are simple and engaging. I love the simple aesthetic to it... there's a clean soothing look to it... very relaxing... very chill... The music is a great match for it... it reflects the sort of 'zen' feel of both the mechanics and look. Even the title screen interface/menu sort of shares the vibe... very minimilstic but it manages to convey what it needs to. I highly recommend this game on so many levels... Casual gamer? Maybe Mindsweeper is what is 'hardcore' to you? You'll enjoy this for the puzzles and minimalistic aesthetic. A A puzzle game veteran? We got another tour of duty for you in the form of a game that seems simple but can offer a great challenge. Interplanetary Ambassador on a mission of peace for Xebos III in the Char galaxy? Dude... there are spheres in here! SPHERES! (bonus review thingie: Check out Dumbfounded's other offereing... Vicky Saves the Big Dumb World. It isn't required to enjoy this game... but its just another example to Dumbfounded's great work so far.)
What a pile of ♥♥♥♥♥! Warning guys!!!.. Dont waste your time on this!! Who is playing this game anyway? You have to really deeply hate yourself for torturing yourself through this cancer.. Note to developers: ♥♥♥♥♥ you, Im gonna refund this, I will not let 1 cent of my money get into your pockets. May you rot in hell.
General Thoughts
It's an okay puzzler. There are a few things that I think could be better. Giving it a rating is a bit hard as while I feel the game has the core concept down, there are a few things that I think would break it for people. Thus, I think I'll list it as recommended, but I think a more accurate representation would be "Maybe".
Gameplay
It's a puzzler, and you don't get to see the whole map, which is perfectly fine. I enjoyed figuring out the puzzles and how to go about them. However, later in the game when you run into spikey bois going full blast can cause issues. Definitely is annoying when accidentally hitting a spikey boi resets the entire run. Probably would be a bit less annoying if the respawn was a bit faster. Right now I think it's about 3-5 seconds from the death animation until it places you back at the beginning. Would prefer it to be a bit less.
Controls
Mouse controls were counter-intuitive at the start. I was expecting the mouse to pull or drag rather than push. I found it rather difficult to utilize the mouse for the controls. This game has full controller support, and this is what I recommend using. I found it much easier to move around while using my Xbox 360 Wired controller.
Audio
I wanted to like the music. There are a few soundtracks, which is alright, based on what I've seen. My biggest issue with the music is that it sounds distorted, like if you copy a .mp3 a bunch of times. As for the sounds, they are generally good as well. The one that I'm not too much of a fan of is the sound attributed with collecting glitches. It's unique, I'll give that, but it sounds "outer spacey" to me, and not in a good way. I think the collection of the glitches could be served just as well with a shorter sound as well (1 sec versus 3 or 5 sec.) I think it's meant to be atmospherey, but again, to me, it sounds like more like something "outer spacey".
Неплохая задумка, аркадная головоломка. Музыка не навязчивая, уровни скучноватые... И управление... скажем, размазанное, очень не удобное.
还行吧。 Not Bad.
