To put this simply ....WOW, absolutely astonishing game for such a low price tag. Honestly I wasn't expecting something like this, for $5 I was expecting a casual mediocre game but was surprised by this game, unbelievable. There's just so much to this game that I have to list it down, the screenshots don't do this game any good, it is much more than that. You traverse into a dungeon with a turn-based mechanics, though you have no controls like attack or move, its all done by itself, however you do have the ability to equip 4 tomes that you can use to either damage the enemy, give them a negative status effect or boost yourself. When your HP reaches 0 you return to the village. In the village you find. Shop : To buy and sell items. Castle : To pass challenges in the arena to get good items, or train yourself by increasing STR/DEX/DEF/AGI/VIT Job Center: which contains mini games that you can play to gain gold, or quests that gives gold+XP you finish the quests by scoring a certain amount of score in those mini games, finishing those replenishes your HP so you can go back to the dungeon So it goes like this -> Go to dungeon -> hp 0 =-> back to village -> upgrade + heal + equip better stuff -> go back to dungeon But it is also much more than that. It is a grinding game in its core, but its done in a very satisfying way, although I really dislike grinding I genuinely liked how its done in this game I expected just to simply be a grinding game till you get strong enough to rush through the end game content but was shocked when I realized there are so many floors in those dungeons, so many events that are done with the story and developed in a really entertaining way. You'll find people that'll help you in the dungeon, there are certain fights that are done in a different method in which you can move freely and dodge attacks and attack, so its not just a full auto-attack turnbase game, its much more than that.
Pros
+ Outstanding gameplay performance. + Very relaxing and brilliantly made soundtrack. + A story well done in a game that you wouldn't expect it to have one, very interactive and entertaining. + colorful and beautiful pixel art + 6+ hours of gameplay for a cheap price. + 5 minigames to unlock and upgrade that are done in a old classic 2bit retro way that is addicting to me. + Found a bug and reported to the developer and they instantly patched it.
Cons
- this would have benefited from having more achievements, at least 20 would have been great, though I think this has something to do with steam new rule "Steam is learning about this game" thats why they limited it to 11 achievements. I can't really find anything else wrong in this game, I actually truly enjoyed this This absolutely deserves a 98% rating, I wish this game gets more people , currently as I am writing this there are only 5 other reviews and this game deserves so much more, best of luck to the dev with this
Summary
A very entertaining grinding type of dungeon crawler, with an interactive story that develops with the player that all works with its old school pixel art looks and the music in it is just sublime, 9/10

Lucid Path is surprisingly entertaining for what it is. It's somewhat of a mix between an RPG and an idle/clicker game. Your character goes through room by room, killing everything in sight, without any kind of interference from you. The only thing you can do during the sequences is use tomes you either loot or buy to intiate special attacks or abilities. It's not exactly difficult, but it does surprise you a bit with a few mini games throughout the story. The story itself isn't exactly compelling, but it's somewhat interesting and has a few nice twists and turns. The pace of the game, both gameplay and story wise, picks up considerably after about an hour of play. The randomly rolled stats on much of the equipment is a very nice touch, and you can decide, more or less, how you're going to approack the game. On to the more neagtive- unfortunately, the final boss fight is part mini-game. An unresponsive, unpolished and annoying mini-game to boot, and rather unenjoyable to play. While this mini games do breka up the monotony, they feel odd after playing the regular game. The graphics aren't bad, but there's nothing special about them. I love pixel art, and it can look great sometimes, but it was pretty run of the mill here. It worked, and it wasn't ugly, but theres little here to catch the eye. A few of the sprites looked like they had been stretched or resized too. Overall, this game is a pretty solid quickie in spite of a few bugs and awkward spots. There are quite a few little surprises that make the experience stand out a bit, and there's more to this game than I initially thought there would be. I got it on sale, but I'd say it's worth the 5$
The game is nothing special and the dungeon itself is not really bad. But you are mostly playing (boring) minigames, that are only reaction based old arcade games. Even the last bossfight is almost only a reaction game. Dont matter what equipment you have. Or what you have invested at skills. You have 100 HP again and your goal is to hit the boss 12 times. And avoid his attacks. The next problem is, that the game get really worse for the eyes after you progress to a specific point. The screen get blurry (or without colour) and you cant really see anything correct. This is because of the story, but the game was really hard to play at this point. Bad design choice. I like turn based games, because they are slow and i can think. I hate real time or reaction based games. So i sadly can give this game a good review. It should more be advertised as "play good old arcade games and between a few minutes turn based dungeon crawler".

Short, simple and interesting pixel art dungeon crawler with a twist. If you grab it on sale for around 1$ I can recommend it.
(Got this game via a developer's submission to OMEGA Trade - G. Thanks!)
Which path should you take? The Lucid Path!
What seems to be a basic asset flip using the same kind of graphics you'd find in Creature Clicker - Capture, Train, Ascend soon after shows that it's more inspired by Soda Dungeon for the main gameplay and Undertale for the minigames. You can play the dungeon to progress through the story, the minigames are used to get coins and what I call "Stat coins"....for stat upgrades, and the shop for equipment upgrades....there's also an arena, but I never had a use for it...nor an excuse to try it. When I said the dungeon is basically Soda Dungeon, I mean that you basically get an autoplay dungeon with 4 spells you can cast and you'll get kicked out of the dungeon when your health reaches. To recover your health, you need to start doing chores (minigames). The minigames include jump-dodging, fall-dodging, deflecting, and Asteroids...I haven't played Undertale, but most of these I've seen through gameplay vids. Although you'll find free weapons in the dungeon, you can easily buy much better stuff in the shop...and with all the money you get from the minigames, you'll rarely find yourself financially short of what you want. By the time the game ends, you'll essentially make your way through the dungeon 3 times (though I haven't left the old man locked in the cell, which may lead to a 4th, I don't really know...) Graphic-wise, I'm disappointed to know that this is basically an asset flip, yet it does do the job of what it's supposed to do. When "the twist" happens, then things actually get interesting...and dark....so much that it brought a smile to my face. It was just so f*cking twisted and it screwed with my mind...I had hints where it was going, but didn't think it'd get THAT bad. But fear not, there is hope...just gotta believe me on this one. As for the audio, I really enjoyed the dungeon theme (especially when distorted), but I'd say that another choice should probably be considered for the town as I didn't find it as memorable. If there's anything bad I had to say about this game, it would be that this game is on the easy side and manual saving is the only form of actual save in the game (Don't forget to save!). The game ends after the final boss, but there's no way to continue any point beyond that...to find the bottom of the dungeon itself, I mean. Aside from that, the arena had no true incentive to be used and minigames often got repetitive for recovery and gold farming. So, do I recommend Lucid Path? If you're a fan of Soda Dungeon, sure...but with a warning that you may be a pinch disappointed since you're paying for this with less quality. Asking price is $5, but a price of $2.50 - $3 would be most preferable for this game and what it includes. I found myself playing this game to its completion for 5 hours with an additional hour for the achievements. Check it out if you'd like something to fill your afternoon. 6/10 While not fantastic, it turned out to be pretty decent in the end....literally.
Polecam w 100% Ocena 9/10
MAGICZNA REKOMENDACJA* Przecudowna gra w 8-bitowym stylu prezentująca przygodę pewnego chojraka żądnego przygód i trafiającego do pewnego miasta.
This is a relatively short game with a mix of genres and a RPG like story that doesn't get too much in details of lore, it's straightforward, but still very engaging. But I feel the whole point of this game, which is driven down very well, is so much a lesson for game development that it should be played by all game devs... it's a huge spoiler, so I'll save it for the end of the review. So, despite the story being a relatively simple RPG fantasy story, it's still quite fun... has some humor in it, some spookyness, and perhaps some stuff people might not expect. Mechanics divide between an auto scroller with automatic battles in which you keep advancing or you get thrown out of the dungeon to git gud. xD Outside in the village you can train to get better stats, do quests to get gold and experience points, and you can buy new gear to equip yourself better. The interesting twist on this one is that the work/quest part is also automatic, so what you actually do is play minigames to "pass time", but actually your performance in minigames is what will give you gold and exp. You do multiple runs over and over to progress the story. It's an addictive sequence.
Minor spoiler, there is a time loop/travel component because you just need to get way stronger to get to the final boss. The monsters keep progressing but you don't, so you end up having to get out of the dungeon and into the village to keep getting stronger... which might sound bad like in several roguelikes, but it's actually not. The progress is very steady, dungeon is linear, so there's really no frustration. You are always making progress no matter what. Thing is, you start a few times from scratch but keeping your memories, your power and experience, so that you can progress further. It's not repetitive or bothersome because you are still progressing, it's just that everyone else doesn't notice it. It also works great with the story, which despite looking a bit cliché at first, it might surprise you further in. Now, for the major spoiler. I think the developer made this entire game to drive a point, and it was delivered masterfully. Basically, all the mini games you play through the game matters, because you'll use the experience of playing those for the end battle. It kinda feels jokey that you play minigames to pass time while the character is working, but several of the minigames are actually a preparation for the final battle in disguise. And this is great, because it justifies the grind perfectly. You didn't just spend all the time questing and working for nothing, it's really all preparation for the final battle. Equipment, leveling up, those are to get there, but the final boss puts your stats back some, and then you have to use the minigame skills to pass. For game developers, it's a lesson on keeping interest and rewarding the player for the grind. It's far more palpable than just some random achievement. You feel like the entire game mattered not just because it has a nice ending, but because the skills you learned through the game matters for the final battle. Oh, it's also not overly hard... you can see I didn't get an achievement for all minigames, but after a few tried I killed the last boss without a scratch. xD
Highly recommend this one. Like I said, this should be an obligatory game for game devs, but it's also a fun game for regular gamers.
