Love and Sex: Second Base - Shawn's story

It feels like a DLC with not much to do, almost like the Bree DLC. I have to agree with the others: I love the base game, but they really shoud stop making empty DLCs and focus on creating a new awsome experience like Love and Sex: Second Base.

Love so much of the devs other work and I support them on Patreon. The original/main L & S Second Base is massive and full of life, love and stuff to do, My Demonic Romance is coming along as one of my fave VNs. In my opinion, this kind of just feels a bit bare bones and boring to me. You might feel different but I personally expected to like it so much more </3

There’s plenty of content here and it technically delivers what’s advertised.My issue is that Shawn’s Story and the newer My Demonic Romance both traded away what made Love & Sex: Second Base special. The emotion hooks are gone no player control, no surprise events, no world outside the room. It’s more polished and story-driven, but it lost the spark that kept me hooked. I’d treat it like a standard visual novel. Fine if you just want to see the routes or support the dev, but not the same experience as the love & sex second base game. also the game introduces a drug-dealing feature with almost no explanation. If you try it, Danny will start showing up to beat you up and take all your money forever. It’s not a one-time thing, and it’s more frustrating than it sounds. As example i at one point used cheats to not get cleaned out and be at 0 cash again, game left message saying i didnt have enough to pay him.

It was ok but wish the dev would focus on finishing bree story and Demonic romance before doing other stuff

Однако сама "История Шона" мне вообще не понравилась. По порядку. Основная игра завершена практически. Допиливается по-мелочи. Это ОК. Вышло DLC c тремя вайфу - которое еще в работе. Это тоже ОК. Потом зачем-то выходит DLC с Бри. Которое тоже недоделано. Вот это уже первое НЕ ОК. Оно скучное, ну и плюс, давайте признаем, большинство ждало больше контента для Майка. Ответвление с Бри было внезапным и не особо желанным (как говорит статситика). Потом появилось еще DLC, которое в альфе и только на патреоне. То есть уже 3 DLC в процессе. А попутно разрабы еще делают Демоник Романс. И вот это вот все они решили полирнуть чертвертым DLC! Которое зачем-то вынесли в отдельное игру, хотя реюз основной игры там внушительный. Ну и зачем-то сделали в роли ГГ самого унылого персонажа первой части. Мне кажется Шон никому особо не нравился. Он просто никакой. Ну и после того, как ты выстраивал гаремники за Майка - смотреть как Шон цепляет твоих девочек - прям вонят куколдизмом. А ценителей НТР в Хентай-тусовке маловато. История Бри и Шона - это Meh. Лучше бы сконцетрировались на DLC Майка и основной игре. Тут скорее всего есть какая-то финансовая подоплека в этом всем, но блин, обидно. Игру я допройду, на читах скорее всего. Но она даже близко так не цепляет как оригинал. ******************* Negative review. I like the base game, and only because of that I don’t want to tank the dev’s stats, so I’m leaving a thumbs up. I had this spinoff wishlisted, bought it, and I’m not refunding—just to support them. But “Sean’s Story” itself? Didn’t like it at all. Point by point: The main game is basically finished, just getting small polish. That’s OK. They released a DLC with three waifus that’s still in development. Also OK. Then, for some reason, a Bree DLC comes out—also unfinished. That’s the first NOT OK. It’s boring, and let’s be real, most people were waiting for more Mike content. The Bree detour was sudden and not exactly in demand (if the stats are anything to go by). Then another DLC pops up, alpha-only on Patreon. So that’s three DLCs in progress. Meanwhile the devs are also making Demonic Romance. And to top it off, they decided to pile on a fourth DLC! Which they, for some reason, spun off as a separate game, even though it reuses a ton from the base game. And somehow they made the MC the dullest character from part one. I don’t think anyone was really into Sean—he’s just bland. After you’ve been building your harem as Mike, watching Sean go after your girls gives off heavy cuck/NTR vibes. And NTR enjoyers are a minority in the hentai scene. Bree and Sean’s story is meh. They should’ve focused on Mike’s DLC and the main game. There’s probably a financial angle to all this, but damn, it’s a bummer. I’ll finish it—probably with cheats—but it doesn’t come close to grabbing me like the original.

In it's current state, there's just not enough content in the game to warrant this being considered full-release instead of early access. I'm also confused as to why this is it's own standalone game instead of a DLC. On a more meta level, who even cares about Shawn's story? What's the point of having a second male MC, especially when there's very little content compared to Mike. I'd rather have seen more content for Mike or Bree than adding a second male. Unless this gets spun off into an NTR/S storyline between Mike & Shawn, what's the point?

Honestly, they should have put the resources into bettering the main game. This is a husk.....or a money grab. Instead of a spinoff with a lame story, bad scenes and regurgitated stills and art they could have made another DLC or 3 and improved on a game that has so much potential. This game is not even worth the sale price. The main game is SO much more and by far better content, story, art and gameplay.

It's not worth the price on the moment - also there is a bug that you cannot even get any kind of promotion.

I love the first game and this was okay but I really feel like this should've been a dlc and not only that I wish there were more girls or more updates to bree dlc.

For me, choosing Shawn as the main character is highly questionable; he only appears in a couple of quests in the main game and is simply uninteresting on his own! In fact, none of the male characters were particularly engaging, except for the main character. I bought it to support the developer. I don't blame the developer for that—I trust them—but it would be better if they continued to develop content for the main LaS. At the moment, the best they can do is DLC. Первая и главная проблема этой игры-это количество контента, его крайне мало! Я не знаю какой была на релизе первая часть, но застал я ее уже после релиза DLC с 3 девушками. Может и тут прибавиться контента. Вторая- это ГГ. Как по мне брать на главного героя Шона- максимально спорная вещь, он в основной то игре встречается в пару квестах и сам по себе ну просто не интересный! По факту никто не цеплял из мужских персонажей, кроме главного героя. Купил для поддержки разработчика. Чтобы было представление о чем я говорю, основную игру я все еще до конца по сути не прошел, а у меня в ней за 100 часов. Могу понять, что индустрия высококультурных игр - это в 90% выжимание денег, разработчика в этом плане не осуждаю, к нему есть доверие, но лучше бы он и дальше пилил контент для основной LaS. На данный момент тянет максимум на DLC. Желаю ему и дальше развивать свои игры, но а для этой пока что Не рекомендую... P.S. Для меня главный плюс игры - Палла, я ее просто обожаю.
