I have roughly 15 hours into this game and it is one of the most interesting 2D soulslikes I think I've ever played. The game is tough and full of secrets. I do think the only thing truly holding this game back are the controls. They're... interesting. Some of this can be solved/overwritten with Steam controls but certain things are tied together so there are still some limitations. This is absolutely a hidden gem/diamond in the rough. I would love to see more people get their hands on it. It is an incredibly inventive game and I hope to see more from this dev.
Take this as a neutral review. So, I just got soft-locked for the second time on an attempted play-through of this game, and I don't feel like starting a third at this point in time, but oh boy, I know I'll come back. This game is enchanting, and unfortunately, a bit rough. For a game that is so focused on exploring, its disappointing to encounter gamebreaking bugs as a direct result of, you know... Exploring. Everything here is lovely, truly. The aesthetics, time mechanics, world, and progression all feel really neatly tuned and unique--it's just unpolished. The combat is a little rougher, but it's got a good foundation. If I see there are some bug fixes, I'll come back. If I don't, I'll still come back, just a little later. This is an incredible gem, and it's not often you get the chance to try out a game this interesting but unknown--it's got like, 10 other reviews at the time of writing this ? Crazy. Even in its current state it deserves much more attention. Great game. Support it if you can handle the wonkyness.
