On the fence about this one. I bought this game because I am a big fan of Thor's videos and the unconventional way she views and talks about videogames. I thought a game made by her would be really cool. And in a sense, it is. The music is about as fantastic as expected, the real life Dutch environment turned GBA graphics as well as the overall art direction (outside of the obv RPG Maker assets) is a vibe and the disappearing trains mystery makes for an interesting plot. However, and this will contain *************SPOILERS************: To me, the overall quality of the game is undermined by the unnecessary love story and its writing. Burgundy is written in the same way Thor talks on social media platforms. This has its charm in the context of her online persona, but in an RPG Maker game like this it comes off as annoying. Like an edgy teen's first RPG Maker game type of writing. I understand the character is supposed to be this over the top, stereotype Jersey Shore girl, but the overuse of '':3'' and overall annoying language hits the wrong notes. The inclusion of the love story is my biggest issue with the game, because it is unnecessary and doesn't add a whole lot. It feels like Thor had this romance idea that had to be included no matter what and thus it was forced into the story when it doesn't lend itself to it. Burgundy and Marzipan slowly but surely uncover the train disappearance mystery, while the ''i am so happy to be exploring this abandoned railroad with you'' sentences fail to blend in and feel out of place. It is an attempt to build it up to then climax into the ''WE LOVE EACH OTHER'' while potentially getting killed by a train, but it sadly just never works. It feels like 2 ideas for 2 separate storylines blended together. I wish she either chose to go with the train disappearance plot or the cheesy love story rather than this. As a side note the ending isn't all too uplifting either as its conclusion is 1 press of a button -> game done. Then again this was probably due to time constraints, as this game was part of a game jam. That being said, writing about its shortcomings is easier than what it does well. This review makes it seem like I dislike the game, while I don't fully. It's a 6/10 that would have been a 7-7.5/10 if the focus was solely on the train disappearance plot and Burgundy was written a little more... serious I guess? Like I said, the art direction and music are genuinely great and the train disappearance plot (sorry I keep repeating this) is both interesting and witty, more than saving this from being a bad game. I do think the 5 euros pricetag is too excessive, considering you can beat the game in 40 minutes and it doesn't have a whole lot of replay value. I find it difficult to say that about something that clearly has a lot of hours put into it, but I also have to be fair while comparing it to other indie games that are both lengthier and more fleshed out for as far as even half the price. I think anywhere between 2 and 3 euros would be justified. So yeah, play this if you like good music, aesthetic vibes and an overall alright plot, but keep in mind its writing is suboptimal and has an unnecessary love story written into what was supposed to be a bit of a horror plot. To Thor: this isn't meant as a hate comment, but I do want to be honest. Alright that's it.
Very short narrative game with quite an interesting aesthetic mix of pixel drawings and digitized photos. There are some cool moments and overall engaging plot beats. One can complete it in around half an hour/forty-five minutes and the gameplay is limited to just moving around or making choices during first person sections. Despite the limited duration, it might be worth checking out for its vibes.

amazing atmosphere, genuinely intriguing and scary with awesome music and prose. The visual style is really strong despite how varied the mediums are and it comes together with the music as a really palpable vibe. unfortunately the game falls a bit flat in its ending and dialogue, with the protagonists written like a discord conversation, which as a homestuck fan i can appreciate but ends up feeling pretty unnatural and cheesy, especially compared to the vibe of the setting and inner monologues/narration. overall a really strong atmosphere piece with lots of personality. thanks thor! looking forward to what you create next. your videos were a much needed retreat during tough times and you've really inspired my work since! much love
the writing in this is quite bad ngl, everything else is v cool though
as a girl (lesbian) that takes the train to work everyday this was very relatable
The art has all the heart one would expect from Thor. Theres plenty of passion, love, immaculate vibes and music. Fat Pikachu approved joint. EDIT: When Marzipan said :3... I felt that.
It has that ThorHighHeels sauce. Extremely cool atmosphere and overall mood. If I had one criticism, it's that all the RPGMaker segments looked quite generic especially compared to how much style the VN segments had. Recommend it either way :) Snailo :)))
Very short and sweet little spooky experience. Very good. Very Gay.
