About

A demanding roguelike tactical RPG, where every fight and decision revolves around YOU.
You are King Nrvesk, despot of Ruedome. Your reign was bloody, oppressive, and unjust, but was brought to an end by your neighbouring ruler, Boros II of Stratha. Under the pretence of a diplomatic meeting, an attempt on your life was made as you sat across a man you once considered an ally. Narrowly, you escaped.
Nrvesk is your company’s most powerful asset, but also your greatest vulnerability. His death in battle means the end.

Lost In The Open is designed to be a challenging experience. You will face an ever-growing roster of deadly, unique enemies. They will pull your allies out of position, lure you into traps, and coordinate to flank you. Learn their weaknesses, fight strategically, and protect your King.

A powerful Strathaian vanguard follows you tirelessly. You must traverse the dangerous terrain between Stratha and Ruedome and encounter hundreds of difficult decisions. Do you take the well-forested path where you risk becoming beasts’ prey, or the high ground, where you are exposed and easily tracked by man? Do you pay a hefty toll to avoid a fight with bandits?
You will not be alone in your adversity. Manage a diverse roster of recruits. Train them to become specialists, or jacks-of-all-trades. Create quick-bladed bloodletters, mighty human shields, patient bowmen. Equip them with strange trinkets, bolster their weapons and armour with unique attachments. Nrvesk’s life lay in his companions’ hands; shape them to your advantage.

Defeating enemies, aiding strangers, and trading with merchants are your means of sustaining yourself on this journey. Balance your resources, between unlocking new traits and abilities, upgrading your equipment, and sustaining your companions.
Defeat rears its head at every turn in Lost In The Open. Prepare for the worst. Face the consequences of your choices. Return to your throne.

the balance in this game is waaay off. It is not hard it is poorly thought through. one elite can break your lines and then one shot every guy in your party ignoring attacks of opportunity.
确实好玩,但我就想问下你们真跑路了吗
孩子们50块就个半成品快跑
The balancing is absolutely horrible. That first headhunter guy can easily 1v4 against units that are a level above him. If he strikes a unit enough times, he just stacks so many poisonsstacks, that they go down to 0 stamina and completely lose their turns. And guess what happens if you can't attack? You can't even win a war of attrition that way. Save-Scumming is absolutely mandatory for some fights. And you know what save-scumming isn't? Fun. It's an interesting game, but some of the bosses/encounters are so stupidly hard, it feels like they are just designed to be roadblocks. Big pass for now.
basic difficulty is way to easy. medium difficulty is way to hard. too reliant on RNG for survival
已跑路,差评!
The game has good bones. Excited for the full release. Three full playthroughs in (one on merciful and two on cruel) and I'm still hungry for the next act. The gameplay loop is satisfying, albeit, unforgiving. The strategy you need to put into building each unit is rewarding. It's great to watch as some previously undefined unit gradually finds their own established niche withing your ranks. The art is fantastic, but as I'm writing this, I realize probably you already knew that. As of this review, Lost in the Open tends to be momentum heavy. If you succeed early and get higher-level units quick, you can slash your way through the forest glee. However, if you take any real losses, they can be hard to come back from. There are a few balancing issues, but this is to be expected of an early access tittle. However, Don't let any of that deter you. If you like grid-based tactics, this game is worth your time, and your coin.
