About
Long Gone Days is a JRPG set in the real world about human connection during war, focusing on civilians, language barriers, and borders.
Follow Rourke, young man trained from birth to be a sniper for The Core— a subterranean paramilitary state.
On his first mission, he is sent to the surface under orders of great significance. Motivated to finally be able to show the fruits of his training, he carries out his first orders to perfection only to find out that The Core was far from being the noble organization he thought he knew.
A Nuanced Look at War: Experience the clash of modern conflict against civilian life through the contrast of intense RPG combat and slower, slice-of-life gameplay.
Communication is Key: As Long Gone Days is set in the real world, you'll encounter several language barriers. Recruit interpreters in order to communicate with others and forge bonds beyond borders.
Strength in Others: Meet a colorful cast of potential comrades. Grow relationships through your words and actions as you live and fight together.
Keep Morale High: Choose dialogue options wisely to boost morale in battle. Every character has distinct personality traits and motivations.
Strategic RPG Combat: Spot and take down targets from afar in Sniper Mode, or engage up-close in front-view, turn-based combat. Target specific parts of an enemy’s body for a tactical advantage.
No Random Encounters: Every battle is hand-crafted and directly related to the plot. Your choices in battle will shape your party's lives, and the world around them.

Fight difficulty is always a joke entire way through sadly. Battles are also super tediously unoptimized. Why do I have to shoot the turrets down after killing the boss? How come if I increase the stats of every party member, I have to sit through a message for every one?... and a message for every single one losing said buffs? If you don't guess what the dev wants you to pick during boss fight convo you get the bad ending. Said bad ending also just doesn't make a lick of sense in context of world. The sniper sections felt so underdone they probably should have been cut. Like you shoot three people and the last person just... stands there watching them? I finished hoping game would improve, but just felt like some more thought needed to go into certain things
A retro 2D RPG thriller. I backed this game in crowdfunding. The game proper is retro stylized, with low resolution sprites and limited color palette. In contrast, cutscenes and dialogues use higher resolution anime styled 2D art, that does a good job conveying character emotions. There is a good background music, some basic sound effects and no voice over. In the overworld the game is a 2D RPG with exploration and quests limited to semi-open joined areas. During the main quests there are some more complex but more linear mission maps. The combat is inspired by turn-based JRPGs, with usage of abilities and items. There is also a simplified sniping minigame, fitting the profession of the main character. RPG elements are severely limited, levelling is story driven and characters are upgraded by finding a new equipment. The story follows disilusioned soldier, who defects during a false flag operation to help the affected civilians and then it follows the conspiracy into other countries. It deals well with war for profit, hybrid operations, child soldiers and media manipulation. An interesting quirk is a presence of language barrier at certain stages, when no character can speak the local language. The party characters were interesting, with distinct personalities and backstories that tied to the main story. There are two endings, decided by conversation during penultimate boss battle.

Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0/day in the week to Aug 3 → 0/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Unfortunately a pretty toothless and ineffective story wrapped in repetitive, barebones gameplay. Pretty art, I guess?
Good, short, minimalist turn based RPG, which is to say theres no leveling or grinding. theres a set amount of battles, with a locked in difficulty, more or less. despite this id say its on the easy side. game revolves more around exploration and dialogue. the story was good, heavily political with alot of subterfuge and conspiracy, you get to visit a good amount of locations, and all the main characters and supporting cast are compelling enough to keep you going. I'd recommend rotating your saves, you'll need to reload them somewhat often since its easy to go down the wrong path for alot of side quests and lock yourself into the bad ending. little nitpick, for some reason some achievements are tied to messing up a sidequest, but no achievement for doing it correctly, thats abit odd to me. Some quality of life improvements i'd add would be a skip dialogue button, especially with all my save reloading
Long Gone Days wonderful game with beautiful art and a captivating story. To be honest, I don't think the story is going to surprise anyone, but it's a story excellently told and thoroughly enjoyable nonetheless. We follow Rourke, a young man bred from birth to be a sniper for a secret military group. Rourke learns about the reality of the outside world and the truth of his upbringing, and goes on a journey to essentially find peace. Unfortunately, conflict is unavoidable, but I think a key part of the story is that some things are truly worth fighting for, and anyone is capable of fighting for those things. I loved the story and the characters, and the game had me hooked from start to finish. Rourke is a more interesting protagonist than he looks, and the game executes the "stranger in a strange land" aspect of him and his buddy Adair excellently. Every character is endearing (and their designs are gorgeous), and I loved how they were all able to find commonality in such hard situations. The fact that characters come from different countries and are unable to understand one another is a neat hurdle to overcome. Atiye is probably my favorite character, but I won't deny that part of that is probably because she's so pretty- though she is also funny and very charming. Combat looks really interesting, but I found it to be a bit too easy. You don't have to face every enemy on the maps, and there's no experience or levels. As long as you keep equipment updated, characters will learn new skills as the story progresses, so there's a pretty steady curve of difficulty. That being said, I think the curve flattens out pretty early; only the first boss was really intimidating. During boss fights, there will be some dialogue which connects to the alternate story paths possible. I think that really adds to the vibe of the game and takes the presentation up to a really stellar level. Overall I think it's a wonderful game with a relatively concise story. My only real gripe is that the controls on keyboard are a little weird, but you don't have to be very dexterous to play this game. I highly recommend this as a very charming and captivating RPG!
