I enjoyed the gathering mechanics and grappling around. Building/crafting was simple and intuitive. I cannot wait to see what other stuff gets added.
It's awesome to see how this game is steadily improving over the early access. The grappling mechanics are incredibly fun and add some extra fun dynamic gameplay. I have very high hopes for the full release of this game.
Was able to snag a free copy and definitely shows the potential to be a great game. The game devs take your feedback and actually listen to their players! Can't wait to see what else this game has in store.
Pros: Nice concept Cons: To start this critique off you need to know the starting quests have you repair things with a mining laser. Yes , that's right a mining laser . Not a repair tool or a multi-tool. A mining laser! Imagine Empyrion without the ability to fly your ship. Imagine Empyrion without the proper usage of the game design engine, that made a great space sim. Imagine Empyrion without the Empyrion and you have Lodestar, a very bare bones alpha space sim. Go down to the surface using a pod , rinse, and repeat. Mine asteroids with a mining pod with drill bits , not even mining lasers. Do you hate parkour ? Its in here! An annoying amount , to find tech that's supposed to help you. The music is annoying a repetitive. Seems like one track. The assistant voice over is very annoying and condescending . So , I just muted the voice over. You can do this by turning voice to 0. You're welcome! No jet pack. We're going to grapple hook around to nodes . You can't grapple to terrain. At the start there isn't food crafting. So you'll be returning to your ship to the medbay often. Shotguns have a crappy spread like really narrow. This make the dodging of the scorpion npcs annoying af. Secondly the mining laser does not damage. I tried it for you so don't waste your time. Overall: 5/10 I'm not impressed. This is a bare bones alpha with puzzles and time wasting so you can't get your money back after 2hrs from steam. Beware. I do want to see this game go some where . So I'm not refunding it just yet. I have stopped in enough time to however refund it if I don't see bounds of development in the right direction.
Played a lot as a beta tester before this hit steam and i feel this game has a lot of potential. It scratches that exploration itch that games like No man's sky do but there is actually a goal to achieve rather than just being a pure sandbox. Excited to see where this game goes.
I'm really enjoying this game so far. The concept is neat and I can see much potential by the time it leaves EA. It has some bugs but the really nice thing is the developers are hyper attentive and work to fix things the moment they are discovered. A couple things that I think would be useful to have is "glowing" ores on the planets and a marker that shows where your friends are. If you want to play this game and get involved in it's development, I highly suggest joining their discord.
Oyun harika hepinize öneriyorum oyunu beta aşamasından beri takip ediyorum gerçekten çok emek verilerek yapıldı ve hala güncellemeler alan güncel, arkadaşlarınızla vakit geçirebileceğiniz, hikayesiyle olay örgüsüyle mükemmel bir oyun.
A tentative yes after the recent updates. Dev's have made some very welcome improvements and are actively engaged in addressing the feedback from players so that deserves a thumbs up. My original review is below this line and is left un-edited. To be clear the game needs a lot of work still but overall the games now goes from a thumbs down to a thumbs up for the simple fact that they are working to fix what they have released already instead of just pushing out more content before making adjustments based upon feedback from early adopters. ----------------------- I am going to say no. I am enjoying the game but to be brutally honest it does have a lot of issues. some of the gripes are too much grind for too little benefit. Does not feel rewarding. Action in this game is janky to be polite but weapon fire is so slow the damage is reasonable after an upgrade but your movement is also horrendously slow and aiming is kinda point and pray. As for bosses the worm on planet 1 was like am I actually doing any damage ??? die rinse repeat and then somehow for no apparent reason worm took damage ??? What did I do ? How do I replicate that ? no real help anywhere a momentary rage quit and cool down with a fresh coffee then return and fight the worm. Finally beast is dead but it just feels so dammed illogical. I have no idea how I killed it I have no feeling of reward and absolutely no feeling of a successful fight and feeling of satisfaction for defeating the beast ??? Just plain old WOT ?? its dead. hmmm move on. Now with all my mini rants out of the way I have to say the game has everything to be actually very good. i just feel that the present early access is a no go for a reccomendation to a gamer that wants to have fun gaming...you will not find it here. However if you are a player that does not mind the headaches the crazy logic of how to get a bit of action then it deserves a little support. I do no tmind the price of entry if my money goes to improving the overall polish of the game. Shooter it is not but it has weapons ? so improve them and make the fighting more immersive and fun as opposed to point click jump out the way and oh its dead. I did consider doing a refund in all honesty but then a part of e decided to let it slide as we have so many big developers and really need more of the smaller independent ones. real game changers come from outside the boardrooms and sadly I feel too many big name studios devote more time to finessing the USD than they do creating anything groundbreaking. This game is not groundbreaking by any means but it has the potential to slide in nicely in the Subnautica No mans sky genre.
