About
Into the M.A.W. is a 2-4 person co-op space combat campaign. Gather your crew, assign their roles, and work together to complete perilous missions within a mysterious time loop.
Prepare to enter the M.A.W., your ship’s Miniaturized Aperture Wormhole, to escape a mysterious time loop. As your team embarks on intergalactic missions, rely on learned strategies from previous missions to manage increasingly dangerous threats to your ship and crew. As you complete different objectives, activate the M.A.W. to transport you to your next destination… or reset time to try for a different outcome. Can your crew survive long enough to uncover the secrets of the M.A.W.?
Built from the ground up for co-op play, collaboration isn’t just encouraged - it’s essential to your crew’s survival. Choose from one of four roles and embark on new missions with your friends where every choice counts.
The Captain leads the crew by making strategic and story decisions, scanning for intel, and interacting with other vessels.
The Pilot maneuvers through dangers, utilizing cloaking to outsmart enemies and time travel to restart the mission.
The Gunner commands the ship’s impressive arsenal, from color-dependent lasers to an array of different missile types.
The Engineer manages power distribution, repairs, and shields to keep the ship in one piece amid enemy assaults.
Begin your journey by exiting the safety of Deadbeat Dick’s Deli and Dent Detection and venturing out into deep space, encountering celestial hazards, other ships, and alien races that pose a threat to your crew and your ship’s integrity. Monitor the ship’s logs for narrative details and work together with friends to complete each objective before your ship’s integrity fails.

Pretty interesting concept. Sorta like Void Crew but you don't walk around or leave your role. It's more like Star Trek, where the captain yells at 3 other people who each have different responsibilities, and the engineer yells back, "I'm giving her all she's got!" And then the ship blows up anyway because the captain pissed off pirates ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Fun PvE co-op game, a bit like if Star Trek was more action packed. Gameplay is asymmetric (each crewmember is doing something completely different from the others) and there's a bunch of branching paths so replayability is high. There's a small roguelike mechanic involved so embrace the challenge and learn from your failures! It goes a lot quicker after your crew has learned their roles and knowing what is coming lets you breeze through things that required careful consideration the first time. It's a 2 person team so I won't hold any bugs against them. Also, I joined their Discord and helped with beta testing and they've hopefully covered anything major so I'm a tad biased. I'm amazed they managed to get the game to a testable state with 4 roles and only two of them! Edit: Easy Steam Awards nomination for Better With Friends. This game can't be played solo! Which also had me nominate it for Most Innovative Gameplay!
Super fun game to play with friends - especially if you enjoy space exploration and co-op. I've played with a crew of myself and three friends for a handful of hours in total, and I am really enjoying it. If you can summon three friends, and set aside some time to play through at least one mission, it's a great game and seems to have some interesting replay value, as it's a bit of a choose-your-own-adventure as well. The writing is really funny, and I think the game was built really well, with different kinds of players in mind considering each role provides different play experiences (which is another part of the replay value!). Would absolutely recommend giving it a try, even if you don't have three friends who would be willing, especially considering there is a Discord server for it as well with people looking for an extra crew member or two. Happy exploring. Eat at Dead Beat's.
Accidentally attacked the cops, got yelled at by my captain, and watched our engineer color-match shields like it was a rave until our ship finally exploded.
10/10 Would eat at Deadbeat ♥♥♥♥'s This game is best played by a group of 4, but it does support as few as 2 players with AI on the other two roles. I HIGHLY recommend playing the tutorial for all of the roles first (I did it in the free demo). That way you get a sense of what information and abilities each role has, enabling you to communicate with your team better. There are multiple paths through the story, so play 'easy' mode first. It'll be challenging enough to figure out roles and communication. Once you beat that, go back and try other story paths on 'regular' mode. Bonus points if you have someone (or maybe more than one) person voice act the dialogue
Great game! I suck at driving anything in games and was able to pick up the controls pretty fast. Great group game to play with your friends.
Graphics are cool. game play is awesome - there aren't many co-op games, which adds a more fun dimension to this game compared to other games. I haven't finished it yet, but the levels I have completed have a lot of variety and interest. Excellent price performer.
Awesome sauce game. Fun, cinematic, really got to work with your friends super closely. Looks like lots of content for cheap!
AMAZING GAME!!! It's so refreshing to have something new and unique. The way this game has you interacting with the team is crazy! Even if you are only playing 2 player, it's still so intense and plays flawlessly, but of course it's best with a whole crew of friends (but I've played with total strangers as well and had a blast). Great Discord community with people looking to pick up a game. Each role is so unique and fun to try. Thank goodness for the great tutorials so you can try the different roles before jumping into a mission. We found that everyone has their strength! I though I was going to be a great pilot but then my buddy jumped in the seat and performed way better than me first try! Turns out I am much more suited for the engineer spot and loved every minute of it!! This is truly a game that keeps you learning and growing the more you play.
Funny and silly story so far. Challenging gameplay. Maybe a bit hard... seems like 4 players makes it the best. I need to try it with my friends later this week.
