Cozy casual game. Good Vibes and simple story line
I have found, in searching for something that captured the magic of Stardew Valley, that "like Stardew Valley" will lead one down a dark spiraling hole of awful games that try to get in on Stardew's popularity. In my searching, I stumbled across this little game about Littlewood. There is a feeling of familiarity here, but it is far from a rip-off of another. You *can* farm, but farming isn't so much a core mechanic of the game as it is helpful. Time passes through actions and not as a running clock. All of the new visitors who eventually come to live in your town have their own needs and wants for their respective houses, making placement and crafting important. If you are like me, you will also discover a little too late that the special visitors require certain actions and behaviors. If there is one gripe, it is how extensive the process is to get access to all of the special visitors - this is a little drag. The artistry and palette are beautiful. The soundtrack is limited, but I do find myself whistling the tune from time to time. This is always an easy and quick recommendation for me to anyone who likes the cozy style of games. Here's hoping the dev invests more time into a followup.

To boil it down, this game has perfected charming, cozy simplicity almost to a fault. What I mean is that it's a very relaxing game to chill out to and take your time with, but the gameplay is still addictive enough to hook you. The townsfolk have just enough personality and character to thoroughly charm you. The town itself is very simple, easy, and fun to design and re-design until it becomes your vision made manifest. And there's truly no rush. Evil has already been defeated, the people are at peace, and the world is healing. You're able to take it at your own pace. Any limitations that might frustrate you at first can easily be completely surpassed by the end of the first year. The almost fault, then, is that everything outside of the grind is also still interesting and endearing enough to make you wish that maybe it wasn't quite so simple and self-contained. With so many characters, the mention of distant places, and especially that dash of mystery about the worlds beyond Solemn and the darkness below, it's so easy to wish that this was only the first act. But what we've got is still a fun, cute game to sink some hours into.
Finally got around to 100% I think it's a very charming farming game and though the social aspect is not anything remarkeable.. I mean most events take place at the same locations aka market but the gameplay in itself makes up for it. I'm sure for some it might become very repetive but i enjoyed it! I loved unlocking buildings/dishes, do tarrot battles and costumize the town as well as the interior for my own house (and the other villagers) I enjoyed that the villagers have their own preference what type of furniture etc. they want in their house. Also the game is very wholesome and just all around good vibes (: Merchants do a funny dance. Friends at every corner, even your previous nemesis is your friend here. So many cute animals and pets you can add to your town, No violence. It doesn't have a very complex story to follow or gameplay so it's easy to pick up again if you haven't played it for a while, i've been playing on/off for the last two years :)

Very much worth the cheap price. The progression system keeps me addicted to the game with tons of rewards in small increments and all of the unlockables feel very achievable. There are lots of activities to do in-game, my favorite being the card game, and unlike some farming games, fishing is easy so it doesn't feel like a chore. Which is good because you'll be doing a semi-equal amount of everything. Terraforming is available to the player from the start which is nice because no placement is irreversible. It is tedious to work with, though, since it uses a grid system controlled by the arrow keys instead of the mouse. There is also no multi-select tool that I know of so every time you want to move your farm you have to individually pick up and place each crop and fruit tree. Even if it is slow, it is intuitive and easy to use and gave me a sense of ownership over the town so I'm glad they added it. The day/night system is different than I've ever seen done before with time being directly linked to player stamina. This could be a bit annoying since I'm used to having a little more flexibility but overall I like it because it makes the game feel calmer. Unlike in other farming games, I am not darting my eyes up to the clock every 5 seconds and feeling stressed about taking more direct walking lines or pausing the game every time I need a second to think so I don't waste daylight. But I'm also a sweat for farming games so maybe this is not a common experience. All of the characters have pretty unique personalities and I've enjoyed them all. It's cute when the characters start to develop crushes on the player and the characters feel more real because they have cutscenes and dialogue about one another. There is a decent amount of daily dialogue and although you will inevitably read some of the same lines, it seems like some dialogue is locked behind player progression so there's always new lines to find. It's also nice that the player can take the townspeople with them as a companion for the day so they feel like they exist outside of the town. Also, the premise of the game is really creative so props to the developers. I think I'm only halfway done with the game so I can't speak for the end-game but I've been enjoying it a lot so far!
A very charming little game.
