Honestly, I really enjoy this game. I've never played Satisfactory or Factorio, so I don't want to draw any comparisons, but this game is what I imagine those would be with the coziness of a farming sim like Stardew Valley. It's because of that overlap that I gave this one a try, and it was well worth it. The game's aesthetic is charming, the music is chill, and the gameplay is addictive. I've seen a number of complaints about the length of days, but honestly, it doesn't really matter. There's no friction or missed opportunities because you didn't complete something within the day, and at worst it might make you lose your train of thought, but I'd be lying if I didn't say that brief break to go to sleep and come back didn't help me think of a better layout/solution along the way, so I can't really complain. And really, isn't that a good message to convey these days? Sure, efficiency and optimization is great, but DON'T FORGET TO REST, TOO. Anyway, great game! Highly recommend!
It's a nice, cozy automation game. The characters are charming, there are some nice optional puzzles that can net you higher tier materials at one point in the game which have a good challenge (and let you focus on other things to produce). A thing to note is that resources do not respawn, so it's possible that at some point your primary pull of the low level materials will be imported.
I’d give this game a 7/10. I really enjoy the charming art style, the vibrant village, and the unique characters—it has a lot of heart! However, I found the building mechanics a bit frustrating; mixing up buttons like the left mouse and E for using items and dismantling buildings made things cumbersome. I also missed having a clear story. I would have loved to see something like "research XY to unlock FEATURE." It felt a bit disheartening to unlock new content without that satisfying feeling of discovery. Sure, it improves automation, but I want a sense of purpose in how I use the resources. In Satisfactory it's more like that you see something and check the research-tree to learn how to unlock certain things. Despite these downsides, there’s definitely potential here and I’m hoping future updates can address these issues!
Cozy and relaxing, just as promised. At no time does the game force quick, decisive action or punish you for mistakes. Both building and tearing down structures is quick and intuitive. Which incentivized me to completely rebuild my "factory" twice. The game also strikes a good balance between having just enough different elements to make it interesting and not so many it becomes overwhelming. I never hit a wall where I couldn't figure out a build that would work. Things that could be improved in my opinion: more toys for the dog, and how friendships work (currently very unrewarding).
I have beat the game on both normal and hard mode and loved it. Wish there was more to the game and hoping for a squeal or another game of the same vein in the future!! This game is a lot like stardew valley but with machines and building a rocket ship instead of farming and fixing a community center.
Tons of fun. Chill little automation game with a Stardew Valley-esque town, enjoyed the townspeople's sidequests a lot more than I'd have expected. The factory building goes for a very different style than Factorio/Satifactory/ect. being build a lot more around the fact you are building inside a town, wanting to preserve certain paths and building in smaller places limited by the environment. Overall a very polished game that is highly enjoyable, big recommend
I thought it was a good game, but not without some reservations. First of all, I played it more for the automation and while I enjoyed the story, I didn't really get all that invested in the town characters. That's not a complaint, just explaining my biases. My biggest issues with the automation process are: 1. Resources run out a bit too fast for my taste. And pulling resources from outside the original area is a pretty frustrating process. 2. The game doesn't really let you build up your factory as time goes on. Typically with these games, you build something, then expand on other things while it is working, and after a series of these steps, you realize you have have build a monstrosity of a factory. In this game, though, you deliver things, then once they aren't needed, that part of the factory often goes dormant. 3. The long distance transfer mechanism, crating, could use a multiplexing scheme. This really can't work with the job-like nature causing uncontrollable backpressure, however. 4. No end game sinking mechanism is frustrating as it just ... ends. Yes, the story is over, but so what? Building a factory needs no story purpose, but it does need a sink. (The recycling bin is a bit too limited.)
Finished Hardcore, want more game.
Great game! Plays like Stardew and Factorio with chill and cozy vibes plus automation. Runs great on Linux!
