Little Reaper 💀 is a very polished puzzle action platformer. The 2.5D art style is cute and quirky yet beautiful. The soundtrack is vibrant and ties in well with each location. The plot is simple and the cutscenes could use a few more frames, but the game more then makes up for this with its handcrafted areas. While there are 4 main worlds, many of them are composed of several sub-biomes. For example, the Asphodel Meadows take place across a garden, giant treetops, crypt, and graveyard. Each of these has its own enemies and obstacles and atmosphere. Bosses guard each exit, requiring you to prove your mastery of each new ability. The game is quite forgiving, with multiple checkpoints and several hitpoints but is still tricky to master. The puzzles in the first two areas are mostly straightforward but get more challenging as you progress. I only found one bug, which they fixed within a day of my mention The controls are fluid and precise and as you progress you unlock more movement abilities (such as dashing, scythe teleportation, etc.). Little Reaper is definitely a game worth playing through to the end!
Charming puzzle platformer. Super cute animation and family-friendly gameplay. The tiny grim is the cutest thing! Throwing the scythe to teleport is key and an excellent mechanic. Reap those souls! https://youtu.be/G7ZHvVfixu4

Heaps of fun with a nice visual style and some interesting audio tricks. As soon as I got the ability to throw the scythe, platforming gets really fun and interesting. Great job Little Reaper Games!
As much as it pains me to say this...this game is just aggravating. The teleportation is annoying, the having to wait 10 seconds while it's saving is annyoying, you catch my drift. There are a bazillion other platformers on Steam. Get one of those.
Game is easy to pickup but takes a bit of skill to master the scythe teleportation mechanic, the backgrounds for each level have great detail, keen to finish the game!
i want to like this. I swear it was gonna be a great game, with a cute little death scythe teleporting all over, lots of fun ideas in the trailer. well. it's a bit stale? The controls feel flat, the animations are abysmal, to say the least ... the flagship mechanic to the game isn't even in the first level, although there's absolutely spots where you need to use it to collect souls. ( the scythe teleport move ) The progression felt horrible in level 1. I can barely handle playing past level 2, but I went through it, and it's just as unremarkable as level 1, only now you have the absolutely horrid scythe control to deal with. The menu is the plainest, most basic font you could use, and it's MICROSCOPIC. You travel through a level, and what they don't tell you is, you need ot kill blue and red enemies to collect blue and red souls for blue and red items with a skull icon on them ( to activate them ) and the green souls are just " for funsies " In real levels, yoiu are greeted by a door requiring a certain nu,ber of these red and blues to progress. The jumping feels awful, the attacking barely feels leik you're making an impact, or doing any damage. first " boss " did nothign at all to even try to hurt me, phase one just shoots arrows, till it slams it's head in the ground for some reaosn, then phase two, it sends things form a chandalier down at you, and 1 blue enemy you have to kill, and then give a soul to the thing that fell from chandalier - repeat 4 times. it doesn't mix up, when you place soul, the boss attacks the ground, you slap it once, and that's your entire boss battle. I didn't even move form the spot i was in for the entire second phase. \Level 2 is where the fun begins, and the lack of ttime in the oven shows immensely. You're not explained why you can teleport with your sctyhe, it's not a powerup or anything, you just can suddenly do it on level 2. I tried all buttons in level; 1, nothingdoing. the telerpot.. shoots your scythe in a fixed arc, you have absolutely no control over where it goes. and you tap it while it's in the air ( the button you pressed to launch the scythe ) and you teleport to where it goes. Sounds easy enough, right?> well, it controls about as bad as it can. the telport is hard to judge, frequently you think you can make a jump by using it, only to slam into the corner of a ledge, and fall back down again. And then they do this, not joking, Bubsy on SNES level design thing where they're placing the green souls in places where you have to jump into a massiove chasm, and they expect you to scythe teleport back? but since it works so janky, you end up missing the soul, AND your telport back, and have top repeat the same janky platforming again and again. Walking through level one, it just suddenly says PRESS X doesnt say why, or for what. just PRESS X so I do, and that sends me to the next part of the level? Was it a door? Could it not just say " press X to travel to nmext area, or " press X to open door ? " just so many things in the short time I played this showing me they didn't have enough time and/or budget to polish this up. not gonna refund, I think they can whip it into something at least decent with some work. but as it is now, there's no way I can recommend this. It feels like something a first time developer would put on Itchio for free, to get feedback. again, I want to like this game. but as it is, just can't.
Great game, requires some practice to get good at. Boss fights are fun and difficult. Enjoying it so far. Played this a few times at PAX Au, got the plushy. Playing it at pax made playing the first level a bit weird at launch as I couldn't get the teleport to work. Ok though on later levels.
Having played this at PAX Aus in 2019 it went straight on the wish list. A great little platform game with from what I've enjoyed so far, and has some good replay-ability with new unlocks making you want to go back to previous areas to find the hidden items and get those souls! I think the only disappointment I can give so far is the still frame FMV's and even then they're done to a degree where you see the message and get an adorable little killer return. Will update review as i get further in game
