Every area in the game has its own unique identity, surprises, and secrets waiting to be uncovered.
Beautiful Art and Music
The hand-drawn, parallax background and tileset art for each domain pair with their own evocative soundtrack made by Peter Berkman of Anamanaguchi. Make sure to look for a Cassette Tape in each domain to unlock that song in the Music Player!
Familiar Foes
From the simple Burrchin that will bristle at your approach to the Boo-Hoo that will haunt nearby items and chase anyone trying to steal them. Each domain's cast of enemies will keep you on your toes.
Unique Mechanics
Each domain includes its own mechanical flourishes and surprises from the Toy Trains and Bouncing Platforms of Nightlight City to the Toggle Crystals of Crystal Caverns.
Unforgettable Characters
Make sure to seek out the dream denizens living in each domain, as they will all play an important role in rescuing Slumberland. In addition, each domain is home to a Guardian who will be able to help you reach the Palace to find King Morpheus, so that you can stop the Oblivion once and for all.
Players Seeking a Challenge
With the "Challenging" difficulty option, you'll be expected to take advantage of the game's precision of movement to survive with only 3 hearts. Avoid taking damage and you'll eventually Rank Up, making the enemies of Slumberland even more challenging!
Players Seeking Adventure
The "Fair" difficulty option will disable the Rank Up system and offer you double health, allowing more leniency and room for mistakes. This is a great option for players who want to focus on exploration and adventure with less focus on mastery.
Or Fully Customize Your Adventure
You can even fully adjust and fine-tune your difficulty settings to meet your needs with options like triple health, invulnerability, and time scaling. These options are always available to you in the game's pause menu.

I liked the game quite a bit despite a few finagling issues. The gameplay was generally fun and I appreciated the attempt to do something a little bit different with the Nemo lore. Ultimately, what I liked best was the art, aesthetics, and music; all of which drew me in and made me want to see it through to completion. However, speaking of completion, I do want to note that I found it frustrating to finally find all of the blue moons only to realize that I'm still missing something that's keeping me from 100%, while also having no idea what that "something" is. I definitely think that after the first playthrough is complete, speaking to the king should basically put all of the remaining icons on the map for anything you're still missing, even if that part of the map itself is still unexplored. It would go a long way towards making completion feel like less of a chore. I also ran into a few bugs where I either managed to end up out of bounds and had to wake myself to get out of that state, or where the game would simply crash unexpectedly, but that didn't hamper my enjoyment all that much. Other issues include the fact that you have to return to the bedroom to swap buddies or fast travel, which just makes the game take longer than it really needs to. Nemo's default movement speed could stand to be a little faster, too. Otherwise, I'm quite pleased with the experience overall. Here's hoping another title comes down the line that improves on the solid foundation that's here.
I actually really liked the game itself. Its pretty fun, the boss mechanics are good, you definitely get that old school style feel and if you're into side scrolling puzzle platformers its not a bad choice. However, I can't recommend this game due to what I can only describe as "Trans Coding" Looking at the release date, its clear that this ideology has seeped in. You've got sex-changed main characters and Nemo is wearing the Trans Flag colors of pink and light blue. You can change his Pajamas, of course, but even the Guardian Characters you find are very weird and frankly not characters I'm very interested in. Nemo is a game primarily for children, or for people looking to rediscover their childhood I'm sure that putting pro-trans ideology into a kid's game is not appropriate nor is it something I am going to financially support. This Studio has one game to their name and I can see why. Refunded.
This game definitely shows that a game feeling like an NES game without looking like one doesn't have to mean it feels dated. Depending how determined you are to navigate areas you're not technically equipped for, you can play this game more open ended than it means you to, giving the player as much room to follow the recommended path as it does to allow freely exploring the world, though, you'll find that you're unable to fully explore places without the moves you may have missed going somewhere early.
Not a terrible game but not a masterpiece. I's a very $20 game. You will get exactly what you expect from that price. Control is good but the level design is often confusing. The story lacks and never really justifies your reason for playing. I recommend this game lightly.
A charming and accessible Metroidvania that beautifully honors its source material while carving out its own unique identity.
Stumbled upon this game by complete surprise in the steam sale. A little over an hour in and I've beaten two bosses and I'm completely hooked. If there was a single word I could use to describe this game, it'd be charming. OOZING with charm in the best way. The music is an earworm, the art style is terrific, even the story, something I normally check out of with these kinds of games, has me interested. It just seems so... cute. Like it reminds me of being a little boy. Sometimes a game comes a long and hooks my heart immediately. This is shades of Wonder Boy in the best way. Deeply satisfied with this purchase already. Played on an AMD BC-250 using Bazzite and it runs like a dream (no pun intended).
This game is frustratingly hard, which is fine. ] can deal with that. What I cant deal with is inconsistent game mechanics that will stump your progress by 90%. It's always the same thing with Metroidvanias... the friggin' hook/tether/swing mechanic where you have to shoot hoops and swing from them. If the mechanic isn't well balanced, you can find yourself falling thousands of times on the same damn ring, I'm done with this game.
