very spooky scary
if you like old style friendly games with something dark behind it and searching for secrets sure get this one along with the second game!
Very solid game with a great sense of scaring and disturbing the player unexpectedly. Definitely best played in one sitting due to it's relatively short length as well.
what the hell
Very impressed by this, it has the obvious cliche of a cute facade that quickly gives way to a sinister reality but it's execution is masterful. Some of the sections(you'll know the ones) gave me a sense of creeping dread & tension I've not experienced since I was a kid. I did find it a bit tedious having to replay the entire game for making minor mistakes when I had to retrace my steps to figure out the correct choices to get the true ending(which I almost did the 1st try if not for intentionally not acquiring the 1st red item). A manual save would have been appreciated.
As someone who has played MANY horror games over the years I can confidently say this is easily one of the most disturbing ones. The mix of a simple kids flash game and graphic live action videos and pictures to tell this very unsettling story just feels so fresh. The gameplay is simple but to actually get to the juicy bits it takes a little more thinking and determination. I'm very excited to follow though and see the whole series through. DO NOT SLEEP ON THIS.
UNEXPECTED PEAK! PLAY IT BLIND
A fun little horror game though sometimes it crosses into the lame overused analogue media style. This only happens sometimes though so overall I think the game is pretty well done and creepy but some of the vhs stuff can be kind of lame. I liked it so it's up to you whether that may bother you or not. Really bad flashing lights though so beware.
pretty loopy. i liked it regardless !!!!! its a cute game that i did not expect to be so horrifying ^w^ !!!!!
It's a pretty good cozy (at first) horror game. It's really cute and atmospheric, but gradually gets more and more disturbing. Gave me a few genuine jolts! I also really like the art both cute and scary parts are on point. However some mechanics make it very easy to bork your run and have to play from the start. I'll try not to spoil anything plot-wise but proceed with caution. Game is divided into two parts: the first week, and New Game+. To unlock NG+ you need to complete all video store days perfectly (3/3 tasks, 1/1 good deed) which is easy enough, but on the last normal day there is a moment where if you do the tasks in the wrong order you won't be able to complete them and fail, which is mildly annoying. Once you get to NG+ you won't have to repeat the first part (unless you want 100% achievements) but the NG+ itself will restart if you don't get all the items. Each time you get the opportunity to grab an item, you only get a few seconds, though. Theoretically at that point you should already know where they are, but I had a brain fart and missed the second one and had to loop around. So basically if you want the true ending you need to be on your toes and pay close attention, it's not too hard or especially long, so I don't think it's a deal breaker, just don't play it drunk or tired is all I'm saying
