About
A new legend begins as you step into the steel toe boots of Goro Majima, a man who has lost his memory and reinvents himself as a pirate on the open sea.
Embark on an over-the-top, modern-day pirate adventure with an ex-yakuza, now pirate captain and his crew as they engage in exhilarating combat on land and sea in the hunt for lost memories and a legendary treasure.
Goro Majima, a notorious ex-yakuza suddenly finds himself shipwrecked on a remote island in the Pacific. Unable to remember even his own name, he sets sail in search of clues to his lost memories, accompanied by a boy named Noah who saved his life. Before long, they’re caught up in a conflict between cutthroat criminals, modern-day pirates, and other scoundrels over a legendary treasure.
Assemble a one-of-a-kind crew while upgrading your ship as you explore the open sea and forge your legend in the cannon fire of foes, unexpected friendships, and immense riches made along the way.
When an enemy pirate ship catches you in their sights, an exhilarating real-time cannon battle breaks out. Quickly maneuver into position while avoiding fire, then deliver devastating damage to board the enemy ship and take down the captain in all-out crew vs. crew brawls. Conquer the seas, discover hidden islands and acquire loads of loot like a true yakuza pirate!
Dynamically switch between the “Mad Dog” and “Sea Dog” fighting styles to mix-up attacks and deliver explosive combos, juggles, and aerial takedowns that reward your creativity with over-the-top action.
With “Mad Dog” style, utilize speed, agility, and flair to deliver precise yet powerful blows that stun your enemies into submission.
Or make enemies walk the plank with the “Sea Dog” style that has you dual-wielding short swords and deploying tricky pirate tools to kick some serious booty.

HAOWAN
Warning: playing a yakuza game turns you GAY!!!!! (unless you're me)
This game is one of the silliest Yakuza/Like a Dragon games to me. The plot, while by no means a masterpiece, is enough to keep you engaged for it's relatively short runtime. The side content is up to the series standard and you're bound to get some chuckles in from Majima's silly antics. Combat is a bit faster then you expect and the heat system is noticeably less involved, but it's still good fun beating up thugs and the like. Performance was also good, I had middle to high settings and reached my 120 fps goal most of the time, if there were light drops in the FPS I did not notice them.
I had fun like with most of the yakuza series :)
Like a Dragon Pirate Yakuza is as over the top as it sounds, the combat is awesome! Personally I have preferred the turn based system introduced with Like a Dragon's installment but the different heat special attacks and dark instruments keep combat fresh and fun. I played in English and the voice acting is great! Graphically the game is well done, lip sync, and cut scenes all are done well which is a staple in the franchise. The Side content and mini games are my favorites of any game: I loved doing the batting cages, golfing, snap the sicko, and crazy delivery ones. Not a fan of Mahjong so I skipped that one and the racing one was good also but not my favorite. Sub Stories are pretty basic just usually ending with you fighting someone at the end of them. However, the Bachelor themed side stories with Masuro were hilarious and my favorite substory. Upgrade system is good, ship upgrade system is very basic and easy to max out your ship fairly early on. Bounty system is repetitive and a good way to make cash! Overall the story was good, the last two chapters in particular I enjoyed, the first 3 chapters mostly introduced mechanics and not much story wise. Took me 34 hours to complete all the substories, mini games, pirate flag stuff, and main story! Overall great addition to the Rya Ga Gotaku library :D
Decent. 7.5/10.
