A hobby project by a sad collection of dimwits who have about zero commitment and an even worse level of motivation, looking to con people into buying their "game" so they can have a little more pizza money. Avoid this game like Ebola, it's never a good idea to support worthless fools like this bunch.
Although early access, Lightspeed Frontier has great potential. The new update streamlined an array of content, all in the best way possible. Can hardly wait for more.
The game looks amazing and quite enjoyable to play. The freedom of creating you're own ship makes it feel like progress is made through time. It has some funny things to it (like the loading screen or the trailer) but keeps the serious deep space feel to it. There is not especially much to do but that is not really the problem since the developers are still adding new things to the mix. The game has extreme potential and will almost quite definitely be a big one (if the developers are up to it). sincerely, me PS. DO NOT SKIP THE TUTORIAL UNLESS YOU ARE READY FOR A BAD TIME OR PLAYED THE GAME BEFORE (saying this from my personal experiences)
abandoned game, last update was 2018
Bought this a year or so ago and have recently came back to the game. Alot of old bugs gone, gameplay is smooth, changes made for the better. A few changes need to be made to make ship building easier, but all round, a good solid game. Developers are open minded and quick to respond also.
When it comes down to small ship combat it feels fast and fun, how ever it feels more like a game where giant ships shine more when it comes to gameplay. It is missing some parts that make it feel like a living galaxy but in regards it does feel as if there is so much that can be created for the game, the game is in Early Access so keep that in mind. What could make it more enjoyable: -Customisable pieces to make a ship look more unique (such as paint jobs and different models of same components). -Ability to change ship speed like a slider to go 10%30%/90% speed. -Different thrusters to cause the ship to go either faster forward/backwards/sideways that just many thrusters at the rear of the ship. -More satisfying ramming, I mean yeah... ramming a ship is risky and expensive but damn right fun as hell and ramming stuff with a giant ship is always going to happen in any game where we can use giant vehicles. -Making planets able to be landed on or have a purpose (BUT we kinda just zoom through them as of right now possibly because EARLY ACCESS so we may see this in the future). -Making the galaxy a more lively place. So far as a early access game i have spent 46 hours of constantly building ships only to make them far better due to an update the developers released and cannot wait to see more updates to witness where the game leads, I see alot of potential for this and have a feeling that some of the reccomendations i said just before are already being planned for the galaxy in this game.
Awesome game already, but massive potential for the future still. One of the few games that has me blowing off my girlfriend whenever there's a new patch and makes me run and play it. Great work, when the multiplayer hits, trust me this game will blow up.
Im going with a solid yes, this is a tight space junk builder/blow em upper, kind of like space pirates and zombies without the RTS aspect. Though the devs mentioned they may add fleet control. (technically there is, but its not fully implemented yet.) There are some bugs, not many tho. If your playing on windows, make sure your DPI is scaled to 100% and nothing higher, otherwise your going to get some strange artifacts in game especially with text. Very little dialouge, but a slight of humor here. its modest and vailed. Its cute. I guess they will be adding missions soon. The ship construction is pretty clean, it makes sense and easy to build with. I just wish there was a mirror mode. You will gradually add more crap onto your shiop like shields more armore and a scary amount of guns. To do so you can either blow up your enemies or go find a derelict and just use their blocks they wont be needing any more. So its super easy to expand, a little too easy. But it sure scratches that broad side cannons itch ive had. The combat is decent, as of right now the AI only heads and shoots at your center of mass (devs working on it). But where it shines is having a stupid amount of pew pews and watch a wall of ammo unleash. The play loop honestly has some to be desired, i got about 24 hours before i hit the content wall of this game. Which is not bad TBH way better than (list AAA game i set down in 5 mins here) , but if we had RTS features, i could be here for a couple more days at least im sure. But one of the coolest parts of the game IMO are the anomolies, the model deformation during warp or when you get close enough to black hole is stunning, there are others but youll have to discover them, there are tons of cool effects and attention to detail that i was not expecting. Even a beep beep when your backing up your ship.... lol So if this sounds like something up your alley, i do recommend it. The devs clearly worked hard on this, and i give em kudos. Theyve made a delightful piece here and show my support.
