LightFish is a highly addictive arcade game, where the user controls a small fish who lives in the abyssal deeps of the ocean... surrounded by deadly creatures.

Years after 100%ing this game with 3-starring everything, I still have fond memories of it. If you were/are a fan of Jezzball or QIX, then this is a game you'll sink some hours into. It's good for a casual "game while waiting" or for a binge. Visually, it's a pleasure to look at and the controls are more than adequate. I cannot recommend this game enough. It has proven one of my favorites.
Classic gameplay in more modern flavor, simple, relaxing, not bad.
I've played games like this, like the Fortix series, but not quite sure what the genre is called. In this game you are a fish and you must start from the perimeter and slowly make boxes without touching any of the sea life and eventually box up enough of the level that you can claim it yours and end the level. The sea life gets more difficult and more random on how it moves. Some move in the same direction constantly and bounce off walls as you would expect them too, like playing pool, but others swim around with varying paths. It definitely gets more difficult as the levels progress, but still very casual. The levels change up and add more difficulty such as ice blocks that slow you down and fire blocks that kill you when you touch them. Again, it never gets too difficult, and obtaining all achievements is really not that difficult if you just put in a bit of effort. I'm not really recommending this game as it's not a great game, but still fun if you choose to sit and chill for some time with it. Mostly my thumbs up is for the devs for putting together a solid game that works well, plays well, and keeps you entertained for a few hours.
STORY
There is no story, background, or setup to the game.
GAMEPLAY
The game mechanics have you try and take over as much of the board as possible and avoid all the other creatures or obstacles. You can capture or remove enemies from the board by having them on the side that is captured.
PLAYTIME
The game is not that complicated until you get to the later time trial maps. Some of these maps will require multiple playthroughs in order to get three stars. Play time for this game is ~2-3 hours to complete all puzzles and ~4-5 hours to get all achievements.
COMPLAINTS
There is nothing specific to complain about for this game.
REPLAYABILITY
The game has some replayability as you can come back and try and beat your old times, but I am not sure there is a lot of enjoyable replayability here.
RECOMMENDATION
I recommend this game to anyone that likes casual puzzle games or is an achievement hunter.

You are an edge runner. You box off the enemies. I've played far more than 3 hours of this offline.
What if Volfiev/Gal's Panic, but bad? A relic of the XBLA era, likely to be one someone's first ventures into gamedev. A reasonably fine arcade core hidden under layers of questionable gameplay and UI decisions.
Spielwertung: 5/10 Spielzeit: ca. 2.5 Stunden Spieldurchläufe: 1 (Ende, Abenteuer-Karten) Nettes Spiel, katastrophale Steuerung. Dabei wendest du simple Rechteck-Geometrie an. Jedes Viereck gewinnt. Knapper Daumen hoch.
I probably wouldn't say highly addictive, but it's alright.
