About
Lightcore Guardians is a turn-based roguelike strategy game where enemies telegraph their moves - and you respond with explosive chain attacks. Plan your team’s every move to protect the Lightcore Tower in tightly designed, puzzle-like battles.
The balance of the world was shattered by the awakened dragon. The Lightcore, which sustains all light, was destroyed by the dragon. To protect the Lightcore and defend the Lightcore Tower, heroes, march forth!

As the commander of the Guardians, choose a team of 3 heroes from 9 unique classes — Warrior, Rogue, Archer, Mage, Priest, Paladin, Gunner, Lancer, and Ninja — and defend the Lightcore in a series of procedurally generated tactical missions.
Unlike traditional turn-based games, Lightcore Guardians features a predictive combat system inspired by "Into the Breach": enemies show their next moves before acting, and players must respond accordingly during their own turn. Once the player ends their turn, enemies then execute their previously revealed actions. This design creates a high-stakes, highly strategic experience where foresight is key.
Each battle is a unique puzzle. Protect the Lightcore. Adapt. Survive.
Game Features:
* 9 hero classes with distinct roles and synergies
* Predictive turn-based combat — outthink enemies before they act
* Procedural levels and randomized rewards for endless replayability
* Defend the Lightcore Tower in diverse mission types
* Deep tactics, positioning, and adaptive strategy
* Face powerful bosses in the final battle against the Dragon
Can you hold the line when light is fading?
Each class comes with a unique set of fixed skills. After winning small stages, you’ll earn upgrade rewards — including powerful new abilities. Choosing the right upgrades is key to achieving final victory.

Hello dear players!
I’m a solo developer and also the sole creator of Lightcore Guardians — including all the programming and the art (yes... even though I’m not an artist by trade, just a humble programmer 😅).
This game is inspired by Into the Breach, and it’s my little tribute to that masterpiece. I’ve tried to pack in as much strategy and roguelike goodness as I could into under 50MB.
That said, the game is far from perfect — it has its flaws, quirks, and bugs. I’d truly appreciate your feedback! I’ll do my best to patch, polish, and improve things based on your suggestions.
In the future, I plan to keep building on this project — adding more stages, enemies, skills, rogue upgrades, and new classes. It might take time (solo dev life!), but I’m in it for the long run.
Thank you for playing, and may every run bring you new surprises!

Reviews
Fantasy knockoff of Into the Breach. I'm recommending because it's cheap and new. This is an amazing game for $3. Visuals and sound are good, but interactions with the UI feel kind of sticky in general. The game constantly asks you to press space to confirm actions, which is sort of overkill as it turns into muscle memory and it gets easy to be hasty with it. This game is about metaprogression, and the grind is slow. There have been a ton of situations where it simply was not possible to control the outcome due to numerical advantages. I am sure this balance changes with further unlocks, but I'd rather play games that reward skill progression rather than time invested. By the time I'm unlocking new and interesting classes, I'm getting a bit too tired of the imbalance to want to go much further.
Although this game is currently in really early development I believe it has the potential to become a really great game, Keep up the good work, owner.
