Buona premessa ma anche qua il finale è così e così. Comunque molto bello rivedere Max.
刚玩完第二章,前面中规中矩,第二章结束我直接高潮了
Whilst I was playing the game, for a long time I couldn’t understand why it had received so many negative reviews. Now that I’ve finished it, I understand, even though my overall verdict is still positive. For the most part, Double Exposure never comes anywhere near matching the quality of the original (except, of course, in terms of graphics, where it far surpasses it), but the story is gripping enough, the characters are engaging enough, and it’s nice to be reunited with Max. Admittedly, it’s not entirely credible how the story continues after the original’s radical ending – at least not if you chose Chloe – but it works overall. Unfortunately, the low point of Double Exposure comes right at the finale. Not only are the events rather confusing and you can feel like you missed something, but the characters’ emotional believability also has serious flaws. Whereas the original delivered a devastatingly emotional ending, here you’re left with one that’s more likely to leave you feeling frustrated.
Honestly, I really like this game. I have always loved Max's character. Seeing some call backs to the OG game and seeing where they were going with this game had me hooked. I couldn't wait to see what the hell was going on. I love when I don't know because my brain goes to so many places and it keeps me guessing. Story is a 7/10 which is greta, 7/10 is bad in this day and age, but 7 is still a high score. Anyways the bad. I've had to tweak a lot of settings throughout the game. I have a OLED Samsung Ultrawide monitor and was happy to see it supported Ultrawide. But if i use HDR and have it not capped at 60 with a dx11 in my launch option, I can't get past certain cutscenes. it just locks up. so I have to tweak on the fly and watch the same cutscene like 4-5 times till it works. I manage to shrug all that off and get to chapter 4, but oh boy the game just completely broke. Everyone is t-posing and there is a gun just in the middle of the floor and Max has someones arm through her stomach and i can't move lol. I tried everything. I normally nmever leave negative reviews, and it hurts leaving one for this series, but I have to be honest and I don't recommend this on pc. its a bad broken port. at least on my end. beware and hope no one has similar issues to mine because it really is a great world and series.
não vale a pena
[Spoiler Alert] I liked where the game was headed, but not really where it landed. Double Exposure, which is an odd name for a game based on a mechanic only used in a few scenes in the last chapter, started off, meh. The game starts out a bit bland in the first episode, and though there's a bit of mystery as to what happened to Safi, things only really kick off at the end of chapter 2 when we finally discover the culprit, being Max. Just to add, Safi is also a bit of an odd character. They're somewhat of a mix of Chloe and Victoria, which is a very important detail that becomes relevant in chapter 3. Now, at this point, we've learned that Max has new powers/different powers. 1. She can still travel into the past (or future?) with Photographs, however its extremely difficult 2. She can cross alternate timelines 3. She can transpose objects between the timelines These are some really sick adaptations to Max's powers, and when the cliffhanger dropped, I was really excited to understand this 'Other Max' Now at this point, my imagination was running wild with theories, my first thought being... "Oh God, we had to choose whether we saved Chloe or not in the first scene... Is the other Max from that alternate universe????" which... let's be honest, is a hell of a cool concept the story of this game. But then I saw the tears in the photograph - is it our Max? Why would Safi feel comfortable enough to take a photo of Max in this moment with Max destroying the evidence? The next obvious question this led me too is, if their were two Max's inhabiting the same Timeline, does that mean the other Max has the same powers as us? Are they working against us? Are they the one leaving the photographs everywhere?... Now I was invested. And finally, we started hanging out more with Moses whose taken an interest in Max's abilities. Near the end of chapter 3 I start to get excited, because we actually encounter the 'other Max'. They're definitely different than our Max, more like Chloe, or Rachel, which would make sense if this was the Max who instead saved Arcadia Bay, Max may indeed have gone down a more 'bad girl' sort of vibe in remembrance of Chloe. And then the final reveal. Damned be my story telling genius, it was just Safi. I'm not really against the way the rest of the story turned out. Chapter 4 and 5 kind of feel like the previous chapters had no real impact on the story, and Max and Safi finding out they're not alone when it came to powers was nice enough, but I really feel that a better story could have been told if we had to contend with a literal 'Other Max' rather than a shapeshifter. which also begs the question, what happens to the actual other Max Caufield in the alternate timeline? The rest of the game was fine, and seeing Chloe check in with Max in the finally was a nice touch. Other than that. It was an Okay sequel to Max's story. Honestly, the best part of the game was seeing how much Max had both changed and stayed the same. She really fits in to Caledon as a teacher both with that caring attitude, while also not being so scared anymore and fighting past her demons. I would have told the story differently, and, actually made use of the double exposure a feature, but other than that good job Deck Nine.
It's not a bad game but i do have complains i found it hard to really feel interest/empathy for characters introduced, such as vinh, safi, lucas, yasmin, reggie, etc, makes it feel like poor writing for some of them, amanda and moses are good tho, i found them charismatic and likable overall, adding to this i think having vinh as a love interest feels a bit forced, it comes out of nowhere and he does not have a really interesting personality/backstory either. Visual wise is really nice, effects are good too, tho the mechanics feel weird at times. Story wise, i think its 'okay', but just that. Tbh i feel like its a game that's made for 'having a part 2' (that being Runion). Either way i had fun playing it, i love seeing Max evolve as a character and get through everything the way she does, she deserves everything good in the world T T
