Libra of the Vampire Princess

The translation for this game is absolutely terrible. You should not have to think, "what on earth does this line even mean?", every single time a new sentence pops up on screen, when reading an official translation. The quality of this translation is worse than most fan translations out there. It is beyond just awkward grammar and a few literal TLs. It is as stiff as a machine translation. I have gone through about 5 hours of this game, comparing the Japanese lines to the English, and the translators clearly knew essentially no English. They have translated every single line so literally, that it just turns into a big mess. For instance, a blow to the stomach became "stomach bam". The sun being extremely hot = "the sun exploded". As funny as the line "a stomach bam" is, it is not okay for stuff like that to be left in a translation that we paid money for. As this game is still fairly new, I haven't sunk my teeth into this game too deeply (no pun intended). But I'll give my first impressions of the beginning. To sum it up, if you've watched the anime, it's similar to the general idea of Strike the Blood. We have a male progenitor, that's a bit not happy about becoming a vampire. Not the best at using his powers, but he's strong when he uses them properly. Lots of cute girls to help him along his way. But instead of "senpai" we get "master." +Music is great. The every-day-life tunes are relaxing. And when poop hits the fan, I get goosebumps. It loops as well, so no awkward no music reading. +Great voice acting. ♥♥♥ VA's never fail to disappoint. Also, moaning. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) Wear headphones if you want to play with people nearby, or you will get odd looks. +Artwork is cute af. Can't complain about cute characters. Each character with their own set of poses to fit the conversation. Action scenes are just as great (haven't seen too many yet, but nothing bad to note). Backgrounds are nicely done too. +Characters aren't basic. They may follow the troupe, but they have enough personality and uniqueness to them to pull away. +There are multiple endings to this game. Or better to say, multiple heroine routes you can chose (4 to be exact). Sadly, Sakurako isn't one. :( RIP bestgirl. So you can't view CGs or scenes that you've already played/read through. Будучи молодим чоловіком наш герой не тільки пьє кров а й за одно роздає своє молоко всім своїм жертвам-подругам, жаль стім версія не має тих артів які описані текстом та не обрізаними зітханнями акторок..... Бідні сею ;3 Тема крові обіграна надзвичайно не вдаючись в сполери я з твердістю скажу що філософія вампірів показана за всіма канонами. Ти можеш вибрати свою вайфу і в кожної дійсно своя історія а не декілька здубльованих сценок - це виглядало круто і гралося круто і що саме головне вартувало потрачених грошей. Музика - тут слід виокремити хорошу роботу на темах героїнь та фонові звуки битв вони виконані грамотно і без питань. Графічно новела - відіграє на темній палітрі - адже вампіри діти ночі, хоча яскраві кольори не знищували ефекту доброго вампірського досвіду)))). Based off of the quality of translation... I recommend staying away from this unless they decide to edit the hell out of it. The english sentences are super awkward and at times downright cringy. For the amount of money that Mikandi spent on their translators they didn't get much out of it. They got scammed super hard on this one. Shuma Kusanagi encounters a dangerous vampire, Iris Pumila who awakens his powers. He struggles to live his life as a human. Life force is essential to unlock his true strength, but Shuma doesn’t want to suck blood unless it’s necessary. His allies are: a maid, a vampire hunter, an aristocrat, and an assassin. How will he fight against the enemy? The character interactions are enjoyable. This vn has great artwork, animated action scenes and Japanese voice acting except for the protagonist. About 5 to 7 hours (depending on your reading speed), you can choose a route: Mari, Calen, and Aoi. Lycoris’s route comes in a bit later. How is the translation? It needs to be edit again. Examples- “Numbness like pain runs through my body. I cannot strain so it’s hard to bear.” “Because the threat from Lycoris is gone, my tension must be relieved. Each step makes my body heavier.” “She grips in her hand something that looks like a leash and it’s connected to the thing tied around my body.” This sentence is quite vague. Perhaps she could be using a chain to bind him. Yes you will find awkward sentences, but editing can fix this problem. You're able to view the CGs in the gallery once you completed a route (it'll unlock in the extra). The length of this VN is 50+ hours. The game is mature even for the all ages version. The H-patch will be provided for those who want to experience more content. If you are having problems with bugs during an animated action scene, then turn off the screen effect in the settings menu. An update about improving the translation quality is needed! Hopefully the developers will listen! Edit: Which route was the best? Calen > Mari > Aoi > Lycoris. Mari's route tends to drag a bit, but I felt that it was better than Aoi and Lycoris. Rating 7.5/10

Not the level of quality I expect from a visual novel of this price level (36,99€). Except for the horrendous translation quality, it also suffers from several other faults such as poor pacing, lack of character development and not being immersive. If I could have I would have refunded it within the first two hours of playing it, but that wasn't an option since I backed the kickstarter. So without any option to refund it I ended up just barely finishing one route, and it just left me dissapointed. And now I can with confidence say that this visual novel was a complete waste of both time and money. Sad as it might be, I can't recommend this VN even if it was greatly discounted, since there are just so many other much better titles out there.

Can't condone such an awful translation. You'll get the gist of what's going on, but... You shouldn't pay for something that's been so shoddily done.

Just finished the game and for a visual novel, I have to say it was pretty well made. This is not an interactive visual novel, the only interaction you do in the game is choosing which route or story you decide to go. In total there are 4 routes, each being unique with a different storyline. I'd recommend playing all of them, not only to get your money's worth, but each route has different backstory which you won't find out in the other routes. BE AWARE there are BUGS which sometimes crash the game when I was playing, but I was easily able to get past it by messing around with the game settings such as turning off the screen effects and reverting it back after i got through it. Speaking of effects, I have to hand it to the graphics team. They did a really good job especially during the fighting scenes which made the game way more immersive. I've played quite a few visual novels, but this one was really unique. For example, they change viewpoints to different characters and you get a better perspective of each indivdual character. Overall it was a great game! 8/10
