LEGO® Batman™: Legacy of the Dark Knight

This game was so much better than Lego Skywalker Saga and I enjoyed every hour of playing this game even when collecting last collectables from Gotham to reach 100%. Heres some of my notes; --Graphics-- Graphics are amazing which is not a surprise though since Unreal was game engine. Just like in Skywalker Saga, many items that were before just real life copies were changed to look like lego even when they were not destroyable. Also some static items like motorcycles were actually made with tiny lego parts to look and feel more like lego rather than just plastic box with wheels on it. --Levels and Side Stuff-- Not too many levels and not too much collectibles in them which was lot more enjoyable rather than collecting 3 character tokens, 10 minikits, 1 red brick, 100% studs to reach super hero and finding Adam West in peril. Many levels were fun to play, even when you had to replay them and not only because of the reduced amount of collectibles, but design of the levels was actually fun and immersive. Side missions were also fun. Right amount of them and they were not like in Skywalker Saga "go there and do this 3 times and job done" and that is going to happen in all 23 planets at least in 5 different side missions just because we need to add something extra to make this feel filled. This time they were acutally fun to do. Of course there was some repetition which involved investigating things or beating up bad guys again and again, but it seemed that they really put some effort to make them be more different from each other. Overall side missions and collectibles around Gotham were more like in Lego Batman 2 where they were fun to collect. --Combat-- I love Arkham games and I like combat style of those games but I had to admit I was a little skeptical when they revealed that they are going to use that style in this game too. But for my surprise it worked perfectly. Many things other things than just beating was also brought from Arkham games like fly kick, vantage point takedown and that beat combo when you stun enemy with batarang. Of course these were implemented with limits of lego, but they still worked pretty well. --Plot-- Plot is greatly combined from all different Batman movies and there was even some reference to Arkham games also on plot level. And of course lego game is good with some lego game humor. I really enjoyed to see my childhood memories in Lego game and even when they were taken from different trilogys they were still combined with minimalistic original content plot changes so they fit to story like Pixar movies continuity conspiracy theory. --Cons-- Since no game is perfect, I have to point that I was a little disappointed that I wasn't able to play with all villains and their new designs but being a Batman game that mainly focuses on Batman and his allies it didn't drop my enjoyness levels too much. And after all we already had 3 different Lego Batman games and one Lego DC Villains game before this so it's not so big of a deal --Other Comments-- Lastly I like to point few things. This game had a lot of fun gameplay with early 2000 feelings that after disappointment of last Lego game, brought my hopes up again of good future for Lego games. Even though this game did not include villains to be playable, I really enjoyed every hero it offered and their abilities were done uniquely enough that they didn't feel like "second Batman". I truly enjoyed my time with Lego Batman Legacy of the Dark Knight and I really recommend this game for Lego fans who somehow did not yet bough this game. And if you wonder if this game is worth it, I hope this review helps with your decision making. Let's see do I add somehing after Mayhem Collection comes out.
