I highly recommend this game - Legacy of the Dark Knight is by far, the best LEGO game made so far! It is a seamless encapsulation of all of the Batman lore from every form of media that Batman has appeared in. It folds different character's origin's into one fantastically rich plot that keeps you playing the game and also taking breaks and exploring the enormous world of Gotham City. If you don't feel like completing the main story chapters, you can drive, glide, or stroll about Gotham City solving puzzles, finding trophies for the Batcave, or stopping crimes. The Mayhem Mode content makes the game even better! Playing as the Joker and Harley Quinn is more fun than I expected it to be and makes the game richer in story and world building. Even if you've never considered playing a LEGO game before, don't let the casual genre of LEGO stop you from trying this out. It has fantastic combat mechanics that can be adjusted down to the easiest (less aggressive criminals and henches, to the extremely difficult where your characters can face true danger. All in all, it's a good time!

Amazing story that delves deeply into Batmans roots, you play a connected story of all the Batman media you could think of with so many suits for every character refrencing all the movies, comics and some really niche Batman media. 5/5 Star

The Mayhem DLC is fun but VERY SHORT. A few hours to beat it, unlocked everything, and buy everything. Main game is fun but a bit short. If you could do more of the open world before the very end this would have been better.

Much better than the skywalker saga but the open world has literally nothing to do in it other than looking for boring collectibles like the riddler puzzles. 7.5/10
Solid game, though maybe not built the best for my playstyle in terms of overworld and story balance. Hurts seeing things all over the place that you can't solve until later; I'd prefer just having those puzzles not rendered until applicable. But the story, mechanics, humor, all of it is fun and keeps me going maybe a few too many hours at a time. The dialogue works for a Lego game too. Genuinely I love how each story section is a different era (mostly) of Batman's time in shows and movies. Not to mention there's a lot of heart to it as well, especially to Adam West. Could it feature some of the comics? I'm not so sure with how heavy and wonky some of the iterations get, especially when a lot of them involve characters not in Gotham. That's why we had the other DC Lego games, and I'm sure one day we might see a Legacy game for the rest of the League. Love the stealth and takedowns. I've never played the Arkham games but it really makes me want to start. The abilities don't always feel useful for combat, but that could just be because Batman's abilities are just so much more satisfying. Probably glad we didn't have all the ability suits like the earlier Lego Batman games, since it fits less with the narrative and the suit stations always felt awkward to me in the past. And every little random street crime feels great to bust as you learn the cleanest ways to tackle them. Does it have replayability? I don't think so personally in terms of overworld, but the story missions I could definitely come back to over and over.
