I don't know how so many people have said they've actually been able to play this. I can't even get past the tutorial without it crashing. I tried years ago, and today, there is zero difference. Incredibly laggy and jumpy. I know for a fact it isn't my computer. I spent $2,000 building my gaming pc, it can play any modern game and this game is 5 years old. Barely has any graphics to it at all. Don't waste your money.
11/10 IDEA!!!! - First-Person/Third-Person/Action-Combat/RTS/City Management/Empire Simulator 8/10 EXECUTION!! - Definitely fun and totally worth the price! This developer understands how to make a well-rounded game with all the unique mechanics we all enjoy from various other games. I hope they continue to succeed in delivering games like this one and that other developers take heed to the level of variety in mechanics we all deserve! - More in-depth than Dynasty Warriors 9 Empires, and with some similarities to Total War games, however much less polished, as expected. Still great looking, and closer to Mount and Blade Bannerlord with the many instanced areas. Honestly the combat isn't as good but with very cool magic it makes up for it. The hexagonal map and workshop mod capabilites offer a more sandbox feel as well. I recommend we support this developer, please. We OG gamers need visionaries with the resources on the front lines of the gaming industry!
Overall abandoned, unfinished, unpolished, really a shame since the idea was great.

Legends of Ellaria is an ambitious hybrid fantasy title developed and published by Larkon Studio that attempts to fuse multiple genres into a single cohesive experience. At its core, the game blends action RPG combat, open-world exploration, real-time strategy management, and kingdom-building simulation within one interconnected framework. The premise places you in the role of a displaced noble fleeing a ruined world through a dimensional rift, arriving in the land of Ellaria with the goal of carving out a new domain. From the outset, the game signals that it is not content with being confined to a single gameplay identity; instead, it aims to give players control over both their personal hero and the broader fate of an emerging kingdom. The world-building establishes a backdrop of fractured civilizations and competing factions who have similarly escaped to Ellaria. This shared migration creates a natural tension between diplomacy and conquest. Players are tasked with securing territory, constructing settlements, managing resources, and defending their realm against rival powers. The overarching narrative is less about a tightly scripted storyline and more about sandbox-driven progression. Ellaria serves as a playground where your decisions—whether economic, military, or diplomatic—shape how your faction develops over time. One of the defining features of Legends of Ellaria is its dual-perspective system. Players can oversee their territory from a strategic map view, making decisions about city construction, army movements, and research development. At any point, however, you can shift into direct control of your character in first- or third-person perspective, engaging in combat or exploring the terrain personally. This mechanic aims to bridge macro-level strategy with micro-level immersion. Leading an army from the front lines, rather than simply issuing commands from above, creates moments where strategic planning transitions into hands-on execution. The concept is compelling and gives the game a distinct identity compared to more traditional RTS or RPG titles. Kingdom management introduces layers of resource allocation, infrastructure expansion, and military recruitment. Settlements can be developed with new buildings that support economic growth or strengthen defensive capabilities. Research unlocks improved units and technologies, encouraging long-term planning. These systems provide a foundation for players who enjoy strategic depth and incremental development. Watching a modest settlement grow into a fortified stronghold delivers a tangible sense of progression, especially when those developments directly impact battlefield outcomes. Combat mechanics attempt to blend large-scale warfare with individual hero action. On the strategic level, players command armies and position units to take advantage of terrain and composition. On the ground, direct character control allows for melee and ranged engagements, adding a layer of personal involvement. While this duality offers exciting potential, the balance between the two modes can sometimes feel uneven. The game strives to provide meaningful depth in both strategy and action, though fully mastering either layer requires time and adaptation. Exploration in Ellaria reveals diverse environments, including forests, plains, and ruins scattered across a procedurally influenced map. The open-world aspect encourages roaming beyond settlement borders to uncover quests, resources, and hidden threats. These excursions reinforce the sense that you are building your kingdom within a living, reactive environment rather than a static campaign map. The sandbox structure supports multiple playstyles, allowing players to prioritize expansion, diplomacy, trade, or military dominance. Visually, Legends of Ellaria reflects its indie origins. Environments are serviceable and expansive but lack the high-end polish of larger studio productions. Character animations and environmental detail can appear modest, yet the overall aesthetic captures a traditional high-fantasy tone. Performance and interface design have been points of mixed reception among players, as managing complex systems through menus can occasionally feel less intuitive than ideal. However, the scale of what the game attempts often offsets some of these technical limitations for those drawn to its hybrid ambition. The game’s reception has been divided largely because of this ambition. On one hand, players appreciate the freedom to shape both a hero’s journey and an entire civilization. The combination of sandbox kingdom management with real-time personal combat remains relatively rare. On the other hand, juggling multiple systems can result in uneven pacing and occasional rough edges in execution. Some mechanics may feel less refined than those in genre-specialized titles, reflecting the challenge of merging so many gameplay styles. Ultimately, Legends of Ellaria stands as a bold experiment in genre fusion. It offers players the opportunity to build cities, command armies, and personally participate in battles within the same expansive world. While not without imperfections, its willingness to merge strategy and action into a unified sandbox experience makes it distinctive. For players who enjoy open-ended kingdom building paired with immersive role-playing combat, Legends of Ellaria delivers a multifaceted journey that prioritizes scale and player agency over streamlined specialization.
