My dad made this game. :) Good job, Dad! The bot is hard. :(
I've played this game for years before it came to steam. I cannot recommend it enough. Legacy's Allure at its core is a simple card based wargame with no randomness. Meaning the only thing that determines who wins and loses are the players. Pros: IMO it is the best wargame you can play IF you are not a veteran already. The rules are much easier to learn, much easier to improve at, and much easier to get into. In 40k or those other wargames it costs thousands of dollars and many many hours to build, paint, set up, tear down, store, and play. Legacy's Allure does all that for less than $100, and at most you will spend an hour setting up, tearing down, learning, and playing. Plus the game is easily carried and stored in a small box. Simply put it takes most of the things that are annoying or are negative about wargames and takes them all out, while keeping everything you would want. Cons: As an avid wargamer, there are a few negatives. First is that I personally like how complex some wargames are and the super advanced tactics and strategies you can do with them, because the game is so simple I cannot do those here in. The game still scratches that itch but not as much so. I also understand that a lot of people really enjoy the paining and building of models many wargames have, and they enjoy looking at the things they personally made, sadly you cannot do those things with this game, though they have released a few special cards that are really cool to look at that they might keep doing. At the end I give this game a 10/10 for wargamers, or a solid 8/10 if you are a strategy game enthusiast.

Even as someone new to strategy games, Legacy’s Allure won me over fast. The gameplay isn’t based on luck, it’s all about how strategically you use your units against your opponent. It constantly challenges me to think ahead and plan my moves carefully, which keeps the game exciting and mentally stimulating. The more I play, the more fun it gets, especially since every match can end differently. You also learn a lot from your opponents, picking up new techniques and strategies for your next game. I often have those “Aha!” or “Ohhh!” moments when I realize how I could’ve used a card differently. It makes every match feel like a learning experience. The card designs and character art are fantastic. Each faction feels unique, and the artwork really stands out. Plus, the community is very welcoming and friendly, which adds to the experience. I’d absolutely recommend Legacy’s Allure. It’s smart, strategic, and genuinely rewarding to play.
This is the best wargame I have ever played. I don't know of any other game with such simplicity yet such strategic depth. I have played this for hours in person and this digital client provides an excellent smooth environment to play the game in. I cannot recommend this game enough. Download it, you will not regret it.
A war game with no randomness? Count me in! Legacy's Allure is like chess: it has no random dice or card draws, it rewards strategic play, it provides lots of interesting decisions...however, you can change your "squad build" for every battle. Do you want to drop a Rook and a Knight and a Pawn to get another Queen? You can! Except in this game it's Swordsmen and Crossbowmen for a Heavy Knight. Or a Dragon. Or a Hippogriff, or a Troll Berserker or a Warg Rider. In addition, each one of those pieces has its own abilities, such as the ability to charge, or attack at range, or cast spells, etc. There are 3 different factions, with more on the way. The tactical depth of Legacy's Allure is simply unmatched in any game I've ever played. How they managed to do this *without randomness* is a noteworthy feat, worthy of inclusion in the bards' great sagas of our time. LA is available as a physical card-based battle game, which I own and enjoy. This game on Steam is the digital rendering of it and it's buttery smooth already now, in early access. If you enjoy tactical skirmish games then I'd definitely recommend that you give this one a try.
As a pvp turn-based strategy player I've never played war games before, but this is right up my alley. The turn order is unique for turn-based games. The kingdom creation is easily the highlight of this game, there are probably dozens of viable archetypes and many more goofy meme builds. Sometimes I think about kingdom ideas even when I'm not playing the game.
Great Allure, would Legacy again
I have been playing on tabletop since before season one was out! I am so excited to jump online.
I've put over 300 hours into this game, seen it develop from season 1 onward, and it is one of the most strategical and well-designed games I've ever played. Many games like to mimic chess and add some cute little fluff to it but Legacy's Allure takes the wargame genre and creates the perfect blend of complexity, simplicity, and efficient gameplay. If you like card games or wargames, this will scratch an itch you never knew you had.
