The game seems to have a very solid basis. However, even as a CCG veteran, it feels too much right out of the bath, especially compared to most CCGs on Steam *cough* Heartstone clones *cough* After the tutorial, I naturally started a duel with a preset deck to get a feel of the game, and it seems that most cards do have very specific effects (to be precise, only 2 of all the creatures don't). While sinergy is always fine, I felt really powerless by not knowing the entire content of the preset deck I grabbed as a test, because litteraly every card had me "shoot I miss something to capitalize on this". While the cards already require unusually high thinking, the battlefield brings yet another world of strategy. I want to predict, pressure and react to the opponent's cards, plan ahead and setup accordingly by considering all my unique cards effects, and repeat everything from the beginning of that sentence but for positioning instead of abilities. This is a lot. I'll study it a bit for the challenge, but I really pity the beginners who will try this, get through the cute and simple tutorial, then grab a preset deck and suddenly find themselves in 5d chess. I'm not a dev, but I've seen quite a lot of card games die on Steam. They came out from nowhere, with a strong will and maybe some early supporters at first, but the lack of advertising turned most of these into deserts in no time, which devs then usually gave up on. And as a player, I don't really want to stick to games that have a concerning probability of being abandoned by their owners. It doesn't help that card games isn't quite a hype genre. It's "easy" to make an FPS, an RPG or a beat'em up shine with unique mechanics, style or gameplay, but it's the very point of card games to feel like no other, making it harder for them to look interesting. Still, best of luck for the future.

developer decided to shut this dropped abandoned early access Scam down (last update Over 2 Years ago) and re launch it new
Features: + Lots of game mechanics and a very short tutorial + Learn to play through trial and error in PvP instead + No PvP league, and no rewards for winning or even playing + Old school CCG learning curve: Open the collection and read all the cards + Hearthstone inspired art: Fresher than the learning curve + Simple UI + Little challenges, like, how do you make a deck from scratch?
This plays more like a demo in its current state. The combat mechanics are pretty decent, but there is nothing to achieve in the game, yet. So I won't play it again for now, but can't give it a thumbs down as the combat gameplay played pretty good. Will check on it again in the future.
Rise of the Overlords, koleksiyonluk kart oyunlarını (CCG) strateji masa oyunlarıyla birleştiren çevrimiçi çok oyunculu bir oyundur. Destenizi oluşturun, ordunuza komuta edin ve çarpıcı dinamik savaş alanlarında destansı savaşlarda diğer oyunculara meydan okuyun!
Yes.
Note: Dead PvP game This game contains no meaningful single player content. There's no viably populated servers/active player population. This game cannot be played as intended.
This was basically being lined up to be a mobile app cash grab scam, but the mobile devs behind this decided to inflict this on Steam first because there's no pesky QA departments to stop them. Yeah, Apple and Google have QA departments, Valve has the "Steam Direct" revolving door. Or should I say "revolting". The developers even refer to this as an "app" on the Steam store page... like they deliberately knew they were publishing mobile app garbage on Steam? This is not okay! So this is basically an incredibly obvious cash grab ripoff of MTG:Arena (popular on your mobile phones there next to Hearthstone) with a minor bit of tactical gameplay that doesn't add anything more than choosing which creatures to block with when you're playing Magic. I mean who could have thought mobile devs setting up to run a mobile scam would be incautious about copyright infringing on other games by ripping off whole chunks of the game including the card stats. But there's some good news about all of this: This garbage completely failed and the developer abandoned it. So, "Rise Of The Overlords" is a dead PvP game. Why did it fail? It's video game autopsy time! Almost every PvP exclusive game on Steam fails. Only a tiny proportion of them "go viral". This game failed for many of the same reasons those others fail. The chief of which is the developer thinking that their game will "go viral" without actually creating any reason for it do so. Competition amongst PvP centric games is extreme, and there's only a finite player base to appeal to. This game failed to reach any kind of critical mass and died as a result. Let's go into some of the reasons this particular game failed to appeal to gamers, despite the zero up front cost. First and foremost, there's no meaningful single player content. The developer gambled that other players would be an acceptable substitute for adding storytelling, level design etc to the Game. They lost that bet. Without a huge community of players or single player content to add a lasting value to the game, the game dies. Developers must learn that other players are not an acceptable substitute for adding content to a game. The developers abandoned this 1 year ago. It will never be completed. This unfinished game is just polluting Steam and making it harder for gamers to find genuinely, completely made games. While I couldn't find this on the mobile app stores, everything about it looks and feels like it's a mobile app designed for mobile phones... for PC gaming enthusiasts, it's not going to give you a cutting edge PC gaming experience. That alone is enough to disqualify this from any recommendation. We don't spend thousands building gaming rigs so that we can pretend they're iPhones and play iPhone games and mobile apps. The graphics are lacklustre because this was designed for mobile phones, not gaming PCs. Whenever a product is designed to run tolerably on 5 year old iPhones, it's obviously not going to come close to the minimum quality standards that PC gaming enthusiasts except on their cutting edge gaming rigs. One more, mobile devs have made gaming worse for everyone. PC gamers don't spend thousands on their gaming rigs so they can pretend they're iPhones. That alone is enough to disqualify this for recommendation. Now on to pricing and value for gamers. So this is "free", but it's abandoned. Worse, it was never intended to be free. The developer intended to charge for this if it ever left Early Access... but the developer just couldn't be bothered. Making this abandoned pollution that gamers need to filter through when searching for products made by more ethical developers who fulfill their promise to deliver on their Early Access commitment instead of breaking that promise. In terms of public reception, this failed. There's over 130 million unique gamers visiting Steam every month. SteamDB showed the game peaked at only 8 concurrent players... this is a dismal public reception. This was so bad they couldn't even give it away. All other issues aside (any of which would disqualify this from being worth your time), this is a game that relies on other players for it to be viable, and because there's not enough players, it's not viable. I can't recommend anyone downloads this, it's basically dead.
The tutorial of Rise of the Overlords got me stuck just because it required me to summon a flying minion on a square beyond my hero's reach and the tutorial left me without any other choice. The quest section required me to finish the tutorial before doing any other quests. The game couldn't be exited, either. I tried a battle besides the tutorial, instead. The game play isn't fun. The game lagged, too.
35 min impression. Cards on a map game ala faeria, sorcery contested realm tcg, genesis tcg. As of late may 24 there is very little gameplay available. A short turorial and what seems to be an A.I. game. Graphics are oddly offputting --hearthstone style cards --Jarring graphics that do distinguish well while being cartoonish. gameplay seems pretty smooth. Just not enough of it for more than an hour or so.
