Remastered trifft definitiv zu ! So wünscht sich das der Nostalgiker.
Legacy of Kain: Defiance Remastered was a much more interesting experience than I expected. The first thing that stood out to me was how much certain parts of Kain reminded me of Kratos. There’s a similar physical presence, the pale skin, imposing build, aggressive personality and that general feeling of playing as someone powerful enough to challenge forces far beyond a normal human. The stories also share some similar themes involving gods, destiny, betrayal, revenge and characters trying to fight against a fate that has effectively already been written for them. What makes that comparison even more interesting is that the original Defiance actually came out before the first God of War, so it’s not really a case of Legacy of Kain borrowing from Kratos. If anything, playing it today makes you realise how many ideas that later became common in dark fantasy action games were already being explored here. The biggest strength of the game for me is easily the story. Kain and Raziel are both genuinely interesting protagonists, and switching between their perspectives keeps things moving while gradually bringing both sides of the story together. Neither character feels like a traditional hero either. They both have their own motivations, flaws and interpretations of what is happening, which makes the story feel much more mature than the usual good-versus-evil setup. The atmosphere is another huge positive. Nosgoth has this dark, gothic and almost hopeless feeling throughout the entire game. The environments, architecture, music and voice acting all work together incredibly well. Even when the graphics naturally show their age underneath the remaster, the art direction still gives the game far more personality than a lot of modern releases. The voice acting deserves particular praise. A lot of older games have dialogue that has aged terribly, but Defiance is almost the opposite. The characters speak in this dramatic, theatrical way that fits the world perfectly. Kain especially has an incredible presence whenever he speaks. Combat is enjoyable, although you can definitely feel the age of the original game underneath it. It can become repetitive, and some encounters rely more on constantly throwing enemies at you rather than doing anything particularly clever. The camera and movement were probably some of the biggest weaknesses of the original, so the improvements in the remaster make the game significantly easier to enjoy today. The puzzles and exploration also help break up the combat. They’re generally straightforward, but they suit the pacing well and give you a reason to actually pay attention to the environments rather than simply running from one fight to another. Overall, this is one of those games where the story, characters and atmosphere are far more memorable than the actual combat mechanics. Kain and Raziel are excellent protagonists, the writing is surprisingly strong, and the entire game has a distinctive identity that you just don’t see very often anymore. If you enjoy the darker mythology and anti-hero side of games like God of War, I think there’s a lot to appreciate here. Just remember that Legacy of Kain was doing a lot of this before Kratos had even picked up the Blades of Chaos. Definitely worth playing, especially if you enjoy story-heavy action games with dark fantasy, vampires and genuinely memorable characters.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

This is fantastic - plays beautifully, lots of visual options, ALL the easter eggs you could ever want, beautiful skins, the art of the entire remaster is really good. The bonuses when you beat the game are hilarious. If you like LoK, get this!
One of my favorite games, ever. after sr1 and 2 were remastered, I thought, "I hope they do defiance." *insert holy light sound* this game is awesome, the remaster is SO well done. They added extra skins for the reaver as well as Kain and Raziel, they fit the game and look amazing, they didn't change or mess with anything like some remasters have. As for the original game, it has storytelling no one seems to do anymore, it has fantastic voice acting, combat is fun. there's nothing I love more than sending an enemy flying of a cliff screaming in terror. or stabbing them with a 5 foot sword. or stealing their blood/soul....or... aahhhh, old games. *fuzzy feelings and flying enemies*
Um jogo incrível e com um remaster sensacional! As novas texturas e skins dão ao jogo a oportunidade perfeita e jogar para aproveitar o enredo do jogo em grande qualidade!
Absolutely great remaster. I didn’t think the camera would make such a huge difference to the gameplay, but it does. The new textures look nice and extra 3D models for the character also make a nice change. I have yet to play the DLC and Bonus content, but the main game is perfect now. Performance: I played this on my Legion Go on the Low Power Preset and SteamOS and it played flawlessly at 1080p 60fps with some minor dips (I only noticed these because the frame counter was running tbh). I also tried it on GameNative with my Retroid Pocket 5 (Snapdragon 865) and there it also played flawlessly at 60fps. The devs really optimized this one. Great job on that, we don’t see this anymore. I encourage all the fans of the series to buy this one and show support so that we may get more remasters and maybe remakes or even new games based on the og lore (and no, Ascendance is not what we want). If you are new to the IP I also encourage you to try this. I played these games as a kid and they were as fascinating back then as they are now.
First time I've ever played this series and I'm IN LOVE! This was such a fun game to play through, even though I didn't fully understand what was happening. I'm definitely checking out the rest of the series after playing this. I had no issues playing through it, this remaster was done well! It also contains comics from the series and a ton of cool behind the scenes stuff. It was cool to look through all the art from production. If you played this series back in the day, pick this up! Find your love for Legacy of Kain again!!
8 из 10, потому что разрабы, которые делали боёвку и добавили такое количество мобов (6 в один файт, и они тебя пинают все вместе), — я, ♥♥♥♥♥, руки бы вам пообломал.
It's a classic
