LEFT BEHIND is a hyper-realistic psychological horror game where you take on the role of a real estate agent with a client looking to sell you a property. Instead of a straightforward and quick interaction with the client, you find yourself thrust into a deeply unsettling and frightening situation.

Wow. just wow. I LOVEDDDD the microphone concept. it was SO MUCH FUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! but whatt the hell did i just spend my time doing???????????????????????????????????? great job!
First off; This game is over 1 year old by now and I'm sure that the developer has learned what should've been worked on more, after reading all the reviews. For examble opening doors, player's movement and story telling. My review is going to focus more on the ending. 1. I need to get this of my chest. This game NEEDS a warning for players who might suffer from depression! Someone who struggles with it SHOULD NOT play this game! 2. About the ending; The ending was chocking and overly depressing! As some other players have stated here, the developer might need professional help. I have played many indie horror games but I don't think I've seen an ending this morbid before. This game is straight up advocating for suicide...

Cons: The story wasn't good at all, the game was a tad buggy, the constant backtracking was annoying and tedious, and the atmosphere failed to creep me out. Heck I was only even jumpscared once. (which is saying something, I am a coward). Not to mention the only unique thing, the use of microphone, was lackluster. I am still not really sure what, if anything that did. Pros: Excellent scenery and level design, and my god that flashlight mechanic is the best part of the game. I couldn't stop talking about it. Best flashlight in a game ever probably. So immersive and realistic. Please game devs, use this kind of flashlight in all games!
The dev(s) have good world design but that's literally it. Menu interaction was bad, the movement was sluggish with an aggressive sway for no reason, a lot of pop-in on the most random of assets, barely any gameplay, microphone use had no reason to be in it, gameplay had absolutely nothing to do with the ending, not even remotely scary, the character is an entire moron... this is not a game that should have been sold for money. Less time making pretty environments, more time making an actual game.
I have played all of Solitary Studios games and so far this is their best game by far in my opinion. The jump scares are good, the visual quality is not as good as some of their other games and the sounds are super loud but I found myself enjoying playing this game a lot more then their other 4 titles. The atmosphere was also good in this game. The worst part was the controls and the way you open doors. Walking was very slow even with sprint but with these devs that's to be expected by now. I do think this game was worth the $6. The story is good and sad at the same time. If you want to see my play through you can watch it here https://youtu.be/kdLHb9dYSF0
Left Behind, developed and published by SolitaryStudios, is an atmospheric psychological horror game that places players in a tense and unsettling world. Released in 2024, the game has carved out a niche within the indie horror scene, offering a unique experience that combines narrative-driven gameplay with innovative interactive mechanics. Set against the backdrop of the Philippines, the game integrates local culture and environment into its story, creating a distinctive sense of place that enhances the immersion and horror. Players assume the role of a real estate agent tasked with inspecting a seemingly ordinary property. What begins as a routine assignment quickly escalates into a nightmarish ordeal, with ordinary rooms and hallways transforming into spaces of terror. The game excels at building suspense, using subtle environmental storytelling, eerie sound design, and sudden supernatural occurrences to keep players on edge. A standout feature is its use of voice interaction via a microphone, allowing players to influence certain events and interact with the environment in ways that feel intimate and immediate. This mechanic deepens immersion, making the horror personal and unpredictable. Visually, Left Behind employs highly detailed, realistic graphics to amplify its unsettling atmosphere. The environments are carefully crafted, filled with small details that make exploration both engaging and disquieting. Lighting plays a crucial role in establishing tension, with shadows, flickering lights, and dimly lit corridors creating a constant sense of unease. The flashlight mechanic further heightens suspense, forcing players to navigate treacherous areas while managing limited visibility, which adds to the feeling of vulnerability and dread. The narrative unfolds in a linear fashion, guiding players through a series of increasingly intense events. The story explores themes of fear, isolation, and the unknown, gradually revealing the psychological and supernatural forces at play within the property. While some players have noted that the pacing occasionally lags, the emotional resonance of the story—particularly its climax—leaves a lasting impression. The game’s ability to evoke genuine fear while maintaining a strong narrative focus is one of its most praised qualities. Community reception highlights the game’s strengths in atmosphere and innovation. Many players have lauded the realistic environments, immersive sound design, and the creative use of voice interaction as mechanisms that elevate the horror experience. However, some have noted that the game’s relatively short length and limited replayability may leave players wanting more. Despite this, the intensity and quality of the experience ensure that Left Behind makes a strong impact during the playthrough. In conclusion, Left Behind stands out as a memorable psychological horror title that successfully blends narrative depth with innovative gameplay mechanics. Its realistic visuals, immersive audio, and unique voice-interactive elements create an experience that is both terrifying and emotionally engaging. While its brief duration and linear structure may limit replay value, the game’s ability to sustain tension and evoke fear cements its place as a notable and compelling entry in the indie horror genre.
