Information / Review English
Lawnmower Game: Ufo Chase is a small racing simulation game developed by Valkeala Softwares.
Gameplay / Story
Have you always wanted to drive a lawnmower? Then please read on, because this game makes it possible. In this part of the series, your task is to use your lawn mower to mow blades of grass in the levels, which differ in number. However, it's not that easy, because all kinds of obstacles that lie on the route, such as various obstacles such as parked cars, etc., make your joyride more difficult. But that's not the only problem, because a UFO has made a hunt for you and is chasing you. Well equipped with lasers, missiles and a following laser barrier, the AI behaves mercilessly. Zig zag saves can save you if you hit the right moment. If you see a flag at the end, you've reached the goal and the level is complete. Then drive a happy lawnmower and good luck.
Per
+ ufo + Capable/physics test simulation + colourful/coherent graphics + atmospheric background music + many levels to choose from + good controls + suitable price/performance ratio + Achievements
cons
- some levels difficult to complete
Conclusion
Lawnmower Game: Ufo Chase offers you a small skill fun racer that puts your skills to the test.
First of all, thanks to the developer for providing us with this key for the group. You can find more good reviews from others and me here and if you liked the review then we would appreciate a thumbs up.

Information / Review Deutsch
👑 ᴋᴜʀᴀᴛᴏʀᴘʀᴏғɪʟᴇ 1 (ʀᴇᴢᴇɴsɪᴏɴᴇɴ: 1 ʙɪs 2000) 👑 ᴋᴜʀᴀᴛᴏʀᴘʀᴏғɪʟᴇ 2 (ʀᴇᴢᴇɴsɪᴏɴᴇɴ: 2001 ʙɪs 4000) 👑 ᴋᴜʀᴀᴛᴏʀᴘʀᴏғɪʟᴇ 3 (ʀᴇᴢᴇɴsɪᴏɴᴇɴ: 4001 ʙɪs 6000)
Lawnmower Game Ufo Chase

Who Needs Cars When You Have Lawnmowers??
I was surprised to find out that the “Lawnmower Game” series actually has over 10 different parts. All of them feature exactly the same gameplay but different assets. I don’t think they introduce any new mechanics since all of these titles look extremely low-effort. I have also played other titles by the same developer before and none of them were to my liking. For instance, the game Soulsland: Last Fight was made completely using premade assets from the Unreal asset store. You can read more about that in my review for that game! Anyways, I don’t think this game actually deserves a review since it’s literally shovelware. But the devs requested one so here I am. By the way, no hate for the developers or publishers. I don’t dislike y’all. I am not just a fan of the quality of your games.
About This Game

Storyline
Nah man, I doubt this game has an actual storyline. I didn’t experience any plot elements nor did I see any mentions of it on the game’s store page. You immediately get thrown into the gameplay. Well, since it’s like an arcade-style game, I don’t think a storyline is actually necessary. It’s not like adding a plot will make this game any better.
Gameplay Mechanics
The game feels very low quality. The base mechanics work, yes, I don’t deny that. But the issue is that they’re obviously not polished. First of all, controlling your lawnmower feels extremely weird. It takes a while for you to get used to it. The turning feels a bit off. It becomes even more annoying when you hit obstacles or fly over rocks as you lose complete control of your vehicle. This might be intentional but it feels like the base mechanics are intentionally crafted in a way to make everything difficult for you. I don’t mind increased difficulty spikes in games but this just feels wrong. Your main objective is to get from the start to the finish while avoiding the attacks from the UFO that is chasing you and the obstacles that are on your path. You are also obliged to “Cut” grass which affects the number of stars you get at the end. Each level has a particular number of grass patches that you need to cut. If you cut all of them, you get all 3 stars. This sounds pretty easy yeah? It actually isn’t since the UFO comes equipped with three weapons; Missiles, A laser beam that follows you, and a laser barrier that moves forward. The issue is that the missiles cover most of the backtrack, the laser beam is almost faster than your vehicle and the barrier is basically a worse version of the missiles. How do the developers expect us to collect the collectibles when we have to consider so many hazards? We are legit forced to move away from the grass in order to dodge these attacks. I would really love it if they actually reduced the frequency and severity of the attacks. The game has a total of 30 levels. You start off with only 2 levels unlocked. So, how do you unlock the other levels? Remember the stars you earn from each level? Yeah, they are used to unlock more levels. Each level has a fixed star requirement that you need to fulfill in order to access it. Due to the game being pretty difficult and technically luck-based, unlocking levels is an arduous task. They don’t even show us how many grass patches need to be cut for earning each star in all of the levels. It would be nice if they at least gifted us with at least that much information. Yes yes, I keep on saying the game is hard. It might not be as hard for you. But we can’t just come to the conclusion saying that it’s probably a skill issue from my end cuz I am sure it isn't. The issue lies in how the game was engineered. Yes, there is room for fixing the errors and making the game feel good to play. In its current state, it’s not enjoyable at all.
Visuals and Sound
The visuals are okay. We can’t expect a lot from such games, can we? Everything looks like basic 3D models and the textures used are very simplistic. To be honest, it reminds me of how games look in their prototyping stage with basic placeholder assets. I am not a big fan of the audio they used. What’s worse is that they have no option to mute the game. I was forced to mute the game using the Volume Mixer option on my laptop. I don’t care if you don’t want to include a settings menu, at least allow us to mute the game!
Pros

The game is unintentionally difficult.
Extremely simple visuals.

Cons

The gameplay mechanics are horrible.
Very buggy.
You can’t mute the ridiculously loud background track in-game.

Conclusion
I hope I don’t get attacked by the developers. I swear I have no bad intent. The game has the potential to improve so it would be cool if you worked a bit more on it. I am sorry but I can’t recommend this title as of now. I mean, if you do have the cash to spare, go and get it if you want since it’s not really expensive. At least the developers don’t ask a ridiculously high price for a game that’s barely worth anything. Personally, I wouldn’t pay a penny for this game in its current state. Reviewer: Midplayz Hey guys, check out my new lawn mower! I got ‘em spoilers and a perfectly beautiful shaker hood scoop! Rating: [strike]3/10 (This is me being generous. And no, I don’t get paid to write negative reviews. Who tf would even pay to do that? Getting paid to hate on something sounds too good to be true.)[/strike] 0/10 (Just a cash grab, don't waste money on this) Please follow United Critics for more quality reviews. Edit: Developer response: Valkeala Software [developer] Posted: 19 Jan @ 4:09pm Yes thanks for constructive feedback. Like or not dont really care small reviewers. But yes i made lawnmower games because those sells. All parts sold thousand copies. Also 3 released at nintendo where also lot money. Also this ufo part i hade made agreement with nintendo. So i make games which sells. My shooter and platformer games not sell very well, so i concentrate racing and lawnmower games. Well, it was very unnecessary to call me a "Small Reviewer" since I do whatever I do with passion unlike you guys who do it solely for the purpose of making money off of it. This legit proves that the game is a money grab attempt and nothing else since the developer isn't even ready to fix the game Lmao. I do not recommend picking this title up at all. Let's support actual passionate developers.
“cute 'em grass-ups” videogame
Hm.. No indication of how many stars you will get (if at all) during a level. Level requires X amount of Stars to unlock. If you go back to a level to get the stars you have the replay the level before the level you want to unlock. It doesn't make sense. Not sure how anyone is supposed to cut grass when you get chased by a laser that is faster than your Lawnmower, shot from behind by projectiles that literally cover 75% of the track (see Screenshots), chased by a track filling Laser-Block. I don't know, I feel like the game could have been somewhat enjoyable but sadly the mechanics and gameplay don't fit together. Edit: So I closed the game, started it again and now 1 level I beat is locked again while the level before and after are unlocked. So I would have to replay 2 levels to make it right again with a chance to have levels locked again? Edit 2: So I made to the last few levels, I beat level 26 with 3 Stars and guess what, the level didn't count. So I have to replay level 25 to get to level 26 again. The 3 stars I earned from level 26 meant I would get to level 27 since I missed 3 stars before entering level 26. Further down the road, played level 28 and of course my stars didn't count. I would have to replay 3 tracks since level 27/28 are locked even with me beating them. Also: "Valkeala Software [developer] 20 minutes ago @kitt yes i admit that when played newest update level 26 have same problem that it is always unlocked. But level 27,28,29,30 should be unlocked if enough stars" first accusing me of hating and calling it a skill issue just to admit the game is dorked/buggy.. great stuff.

Cut your lawn like your life depends on it. Story: There's no story here, so we're going straight to graphics. Graphics: There's really nothing special about the graphics here, it's all stock assets used to create the 30 levels you go through. There's very little rhyme or reason to any of the levels, they're very bland and just feel effortless. Sometimes it doesn't feel like you're going down a road, but more or less a different color of concrete slab. Also there's tons of re-used levels. In reality you're going to be replaying the same few levels over and over with few minor differences between them, which gets even more grading considering how tedious the gameplay is, but more on that a bit later. Audio: Just like the graphics, most of the sound effects and music feels like it's stock free. At first I didn't mind it all that much, the music is fine enough and it doesn't feel that intrusive, there's one glaring issue and that is the mixing. I have no idea what happened, but every so often audio will become so loud that it will be enough to blow up your earbuds. This happens also every time you finish a level and there's really no other way to play this without lowering your volume as it's always so loud. It happens sometimes during gameplay, when your lawnmower explodes or something, but that feels like an audio glitch, however it happens every time you finish a level so there's no excuse here. Gameplay: Lawnmower Game: Ufo Chase is an arcade-y racing game where you're chased by a UFO spaceship that's trying to kill you all while you try to reach the end while cutting grass. Cutting the grass nets you stars which you can use to unlock other levels which there's 30 total to unlock. I'll admit that I kind of dig the concept, however this execution was just simply not that fun. When your objective is as simple as cutting grass and you can barely accomplish that, it should tell you all you need to know, as it's much easier said than done due to multiple factors. First of all let's talk controls. There's really not much here, apart from using WASD to move yourself. However your lawnmower feels like it's a tank that is prone to skid any chance it gets. Since the grass is super spread out across the road, you sometimes have very little time to react and even a little tap to the right or the left will leave you spinning out and that will force you to restart. There's also tons of obstacles on the road, which I guess makes sense, but the hit detection is really poor. You have both obstacles on the road which you have to avoid, but the UFO chasing you shoots you with rockets and laser beams. The way these obstacles come onto the screen make it cutting the grass borderline impossible on certain maps unless you're perfect with slowing yourself down and going over the grass. As I mentioned the hit detection sucks, sometimes you can be barely next to an obstacle and it will kill you or flip you out and when you flip you launch into space. So again it forces a restart. However there's a bit of ground to fail as you only need 88% of the grass cut to get those 3 stars (this is from the developer himself in the forums) and I can tell you right now that this is either a flat out lie or it's bugged in the game, as sometimes you can miss a single piece of grass and not get the three stars, which got really annoying when I was trying to unlock the final set of levels. Verdict: I didn't realize how many games are in the Lawnmower Game series, but this entry is just not that good. It's rough controls and it's annoying level design just make this a pain to get through. I like the idea of the game and hopefully the other entries are better, but as it stands I do not recommend this. Final Rating: 3/10 Pros: + Good concept Cons: - Hit detection sucks - Certain levels are designed in a way where you have to be perfect to get 3 Stars - Audio is so loud that will make you deaf - Controls are stiff and unresponsive NOTE: I was provided with a key by the developer/publisher for review purposes on the behalf of the group Completing the Backlog. This did not impact my opinion on the game. If you liked this review please consider joining https://steamcommunity.com/groups/completingthebacklog
Amazing lawnmower game once again

Warning: Asset Flip!
Lawnmower Game: Ufo Chase is a Digital Homicide style asset flip, or what Valve calls a "Fake Game". The "developer" paid for/pirated a few Unity asset store packs, dumped them all in a blender, and submitted it to Valve as if they're real game developers. This time Tero stole someone's endless runner template from Unity, reskinned it, and put his own name on it to try scam gamers. Two notable criteria for what makes an asset flip instead of legitimate use of stock assets are whether those assets comprise the majority of the game, and whether the "developer" properly credited the people who created most of the assets in the game. This game fails both of those tests. The "developers" here didn't credit any of the artists and real, actual game developers who created the assets here, so this is plagiarism, as well as cash grab shovelware. Tero Lunkka/Valkeala Software have shown a repeat pattern of unethically dumping other people's work onto Steam as a cheap, nasty cash grab, through this account or through closely linked/alt accounts. Here's some examples so you can see for yourself:

"Lawnmower Game: Pinball" = Pinball Construction Kit developed by Epic Games (as Ruskija game experience)
"Aliens Dont Exist" = Alien Character - Free Sprite developed by Craftpix
"Survival Isolation" = Easy Survival RPG v3 developed by Easy Systems
"The Warrior Of Treasures" = Dynamic Combat System developed by Grzegorz Szewczyk
"Nash Racing" = Advanced Tuning Cars developed by James Novih
"Nash Racing 2" = Advanced Tuning Cars developed by James Novih
"Fancy the Frog" = Pixel Adventure 1 developed by Pixel Frog
Taking this shovelware seriously as if it was a genuine attempt to make a game, it doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. The game features lazy low-polygon "retro" assets, making this look like a barely functional 3D game from the 1990s. It's unclear why the developers weren't able to arrange high quality, high polygon count contemporary assets for the game, and also irrelevant... what matters is that this looks bad as a result of their decisions, a compromise PC gamers shouldn't have to put up with. The controls can't be customised, which will be an annoyance for many, but it can also render the game unplayable for differently-abled gamers, or gamers using AZERTY or other international keyboard layouts. These technical defects push this game below acceptable standards for any modern PC game. The poor quality of this game is reflected by how many people spent time with it. At the time of this review, SteamDB shows the all-time peak player number was only 3 players, and the worst part is these weren't genuine players, these were the Russian fake review accounts that the developer paid to make the fake reviews. Since the fake reviews are all done, now the only player activity occurs once or twice a month, presumably someone loading it up to see what it is then quickly uninstalling it. It's also important to note the "developer" here has connections to a number of shady Russian asset flippers and review manipulators who show an organised pattern to scam and defraud gamers with fake reviews and asset flipping the work of others for profit. While reviews are about the games, gamers should be informed when developers act unethically. Whether these connections are the same developer using multiple accounts, or just working closely with other unethical developers, gamers should be warned about the harm to gamers by this developer and their associates. Buying games from unethical developers puts your money at risk.
Warning: Review Manipulation!
This game features a number of fake positive reviews from accounts known to be in the business of review manipulation/paid reviews. They're all written in either Russian or broken English, appear at almost exactly the same time, very shortly after the game launched on Steam, all have a direct Steam purchase of the game, and the accounts are used consistently to write fake reviews for asset flips and other cash grabs/scams. The "Positive" review score on this game should be disregarded due to this blatant, unethical review manipulation. This is done to deceive and scam gamers into paying for a bad product. Lawnmower Game: Ufo Chase is relatively cheap at $2 USD, but it's not worth it. Given the defects and quality issues with the game, coupled with the unrealistic price, and the questionable ethical nature of the developer and/or their associates (as outlined above), this is impossible to recommend.
Profile Features Limited!
Valve have marked this game as "Profile Features Limited" at the time of this review. Until this status changes, this game will not give you +1 to your Game Collector badge count, appear in profile achievements or any other Steam meta-accomplishments, nor can it be displayed in some profile showcases. If these factors are important to you, it may be worth holding off before buying this game.
Developer Response!
The developer has weighed in to inform everyone they didn't read the Developer Usage Rules for Steam "partners", or they deliberately ignored the part where Valve says:
Though it may be tempting, not every review needs to be responded to. A developer response will frequently draw more attention than the original statement, potentially turning a small issue into a much larger community discussion. It's also not a good idea to use this feature to refute customer opinions. Your direct attention can be seen as validation or a defensive attempt to silence your customers.
The developer openly admits he tried to claim credit for the assets of real developers, and hence set out to scam gamers. Weirdly, no comment on the more direct 1:1 asset flips the developer made in deliberate breach of the Unity Asset Store terms and conditions, as linked in my review. The developer is an asset flip scammer, trying to claim the work of others as his own (nowhere does any other asset creator appear credited in this scammers games). The developer fails to acknowledge the fact they used paid review services to write fake reviews for this asset flip in a direct attempt to scam gamers for someone else's assets. Nothing in the developers pointless breach of Valve guidelines changes any of the objective facts of my review. My review stands unaltered. I cannot recommend this game to anyone. Do not buy games from asset thieves, scammers and plagiarists.
very epic and cool game
