Rating: Bad... but. Latex Dungeon is a game where you play a female hero that gets sucked into a fantasy world where you must rescue holy maidens from perverse and dark monsters who have corrupted the land. Its made in the rpg maker engine with nice erotic artwork that wouldn't be a bad choice for someone who is into more fetish style content. While the game does not need to hold your hand, as its pretty easy to figure out where to go or what to do, its very linear and lacks direction or any substantial story and character development. I really enjoyed the art style and I really appreciate that it is all done by hand, the unique sprites and character busts were really good and the the enemies you encounter have some very creative and awesome designs. Some of it did not match the game's main style. I'm assuming it was done by a difference artist and included late in the development cycle. Its not an issue really but it can be a bit jarring when one of the "different" images shows up. Still great art. All of it. And the dev included a section you can find in town where you can see all the fan art he's collected and players have sent him to date. I thought that was super cool. Points for that. Right off the bat I knew I was in for at least SOME disappointment when i heard one of rpg maker's generic BGMs that did not suit the title screen's image at all, and it didn't help that the game world felt empty. There is a town to explore but nothing much to really do or interact with other than a handful of women that supply you with what you need. Even after saving others this doesn't really change much. You traverse the maps and engage (or avoid, there are no random battles here) with strange latex monsters that have been corrupting the women of the land. There are areas where you unlock new fast travel points that you can utilize using a teleportation spell you have, making getting around the various locations a lot easier. In addition there is an object that lets you manage several of the games visual settings, this might be convenient for those that do not like how the main protag's bust blocks some of the screen when she begins to get aroused. Occasionally you will rescue a notable maiden in the field but upon returning there is no mention of them. You can sometimes find them in town but sometimes not. When i did find someone i rescued she merely thanked me. I was hoping for a bit more. It seemed as if the story were about to progress but the gameplay loop seemed unaffected and there was no dialogue or story addition. Battle was favorite part of the game, the enemy would attack different parts of your body and there are animations/reactions for each (though mostly the same three attacks where used over and over again in my game which was disappointing). The more you are exposed to assaults the more lewd you become and this is displayed in your character image and responses during battle. Most of your powers and abilities are fueled by your lewdness, which i thought was interesting. When low on lewdness you can masturbate to gain it back but this takes a turn. Your sanity level is basically your health and as you are repeatedly assaulted you fall victim to the desires of your enemies and end up enjoying what is happening. While a bit janky, I mostly liked the flow and scenes during combat though they did become repetitive after awhile (nearly all scenes proceed the same way each time, but you can change if they appear constantly or not in settings). One issue I had with fights were the inclusion of multiple parts of an enemy you can attack but not much benefit or explanation as to why you would hit anything other than the main part (which kills it). A need to destroy the corrupted pieces in order to free the maiden would of been nice. Multi-hit abilities seemed best so I relied on those and after grinding a bit in the early game I found nothing I couldn't destroy with a couple casts of my favorite multi spell (it kind of broke the game as I slaughtered everyone after this discovery). There were also some moments when an attack or spell had no visual or "collision" effect, making them not feel very impactful. Before each battle you can choose to fight or surrender. Fighting starts the encounter as normal while surrendering or losing a battle, is not the end but can begin a scene and ultimately an experience that adds a bit extra to the gameplay where you must find a way to free yourself and either free yourself of corruption or use your newfound powers against your enemies. I enjoyed it and I won't say too much here. It adds a different element to the game than just a game over or beating everyone you meet. As you defeat corrupted enemies you rescue the maidens they corrupted, freeing them essentially. When you return to the hub town, these maidens count towards your progress and raising your stats but there is no fanfare or tangible reward for your efforts only a msg when you report in. You also obtain monster parts that you can give to a nun in town to create potions for you (with a nice scene) that can aid you further as well as armor sets from bosses later that you can equip (some of which affect your appearance and abilities). There is progression in the form of allocating statistic points but i only found i by chance as the game did not tell me about it in any way shape or form. There are also items you can receive that allow you to corrupt the npcs of the game. There are individual scenes of corruption for each class of character and this change is permanent. It didn't change much in the game or affect the story as i could tell for me but i enjoyed the inclusion of it. Throughout the experience you reach greater levels of infestation as you level up which grant you additional powers. If you grind some early on you might find the game rather easy like I did. I would of enjoyed if the balancing had been a bit better and the game made more challenging. It doesn't help that you can spam interactions with a nun in town who will freely give you as many potions to heal yourself with as you want. Latex Dungeon has a ok amount of achievements, none of which i would call gimmes but may require some "save scumming" if you don't want to play it multiple times. I like that there are some secret areas that each have a trophy and that most of the boss fights give one as well. This was a close one, I DID enjoy a decent amount of my time with Latex Dungeon and I'm really more on the fence here than wanting to give it a not recommend, but this is the system of reviewing I've chosen, so it is what it is. I would love to see something else by this developer (perhaps an evolved sequel), as there was real potential here, I just wish there were more work put into it as it could have really benefited from a lot more variation, polish and gameplay content. Some of the musical choices were also a bit questionable. Using the basic rpg maker music is fine, if not the greatest idea, but Latex Dungeon has some audio that didn't seem to fit what was going on for me. On a final note is that i think its great that the dev made this open source and encourages others to use their game to either make their own or inspire them, you don't often see that and it should be encouraged.
i would rather just see a powerpoint of gifs than playing through this slop.
Beware this game contains graphic zoophilia content. I was already unimpressed by the shoddy gameplay mechanic but when I found out you could do... that... with a horse, I uninstalled it and requested a refund.
If that's not the most degenerate game on Steam, I don't want to find out what's number one.
不错的rpg游戏,风格符合胃口的话可以入手
無聊!!!! 戰鬥十分重複 一直在做重複的事 十分不推薦
Шикарная игра за свои деньги. 10 из 10
This game is an outlier for me. Usually I’m more about the gameplay and they’ve essentially trivialized it. That said, the scenes are amazing. Shows what crowd sourcing art to a community for scouting can really do.
