I'll write an updated review once I complete more of the actual game, but I've been so distracted by the cribbage mini game that I haven't really played the base game. My hours played are solely from playing cribbage and I love it. Instead of playing solitaire when I'm multi-tasking I play cribbage in Later Daters now 😆
A beautiful and heartwarming game. It deals with the serious concept of facing one's own mortality in a compassionate, heart warming, and sometimes funny way. Another bonus is the diverse cast and many unique perspectives to explore. I'm so glad I got to play it. I cannot thank the developers enough for their work on this game. It's such a pleasant journey, with wonderful music, poignant moments, and lighthearted moments. Later Daters is well worth the wait.
Let me start this off with saying that I really liked this game. It was cute, charming, and I really enjoyed the art style. I also found the cribbage minigame fun. It's a creative take on the dating sim genre. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to play the game since late December of last year. The starting screen is frozen upon launch and completely unresponsive. After several attempts at restarting my computer, verifying the files, uninstalling then redownloading the game, I still can't get it to work. Such a shame really. I was having a good time playing through it, didn't even get to finish romancing Crystal.
I loved this game!!! Its super detailed and has a lot of love put in it. Plus its super unique and probably the only thing like it around. My favorite are Jax and Blair, I like how the game didnt have like defined routes and also had poly options. I wish you had a reunion with Jax though!
The game drugged me 游戏含xd情节
Otherwise a really good game. Love the diversity and inclusivity. However, without giving out too much spoiler,
there's an "episode" where the MC was hallucinating cause they accidentally consumed something. Emphasising on the accident part, meaning that they had it without knowing what they're having. I'd be fine with this if there could be a "hint" before and an option letting me chose if I want to have that "something".
I don't usually play dating sims but aaaaaaaaa the various pieces of queer rep was all SO good this was so good !!!!! Underrated game fr o7
Brilliant!
I have to admit that I struggle to connect with this game. Not only does it lean a little too heavily into the comedy aspect and therefor neglects the rest, but I also felt like certain romance options are pushed far harder than some others are. It's a little all over the place. Like, when I say that I have no interest in that part of the story or that character, I shouldn't have to repeat myself like five or six times on it through choices. I also shouldn't have to be pushed towards a character in the story, then ultimately be forced drop them like a hot potato, because I wasn't interested in them to begin with but rather just trying to make it through the story. I don't know if it had anything to do with the choices I made (though I was keen to pick anything but the very obvious choices that would lead me down a very obvious romance path), but I felt like the choices I made had very little impact, because I was pushed along a set-in-stone path for the most part anyway, before I finally reached a point where I was actually able to take the path I actually wanted. I guess you could recommend this if you wanted something light hearted with a few awkward chuckles here and there, but if you're looking for like a proper dating sim then this isn't it.
It really still incomplete and a times it feels like things happen just for some kind of emotional effect to the player but it in the end- adds to nothing. Not keeping my hopes up that there will be an additional chapter to this, but it was an interesting take on dating in one's later years.
