My hot take. I don't really care that the new class is going to cost money. In today's market game studios have to make money. I'd much rather have a great ARPG like this. As long as they don't get too crazy with pricing I would much rather they add paid premium content. Last Epoch is by far my favorite ARPG. It's the perfect amount of build flexibility and complexity without being too boring or too difficult to get creative but viable builds. I definitely get why the community is upset. It sucks when a dev says one thing and does another later on. But looking at other studios that have promised games and never delivered or the final product is garbage, at least this is a VERY good ARPG. I can't fault them for trying to keep their business afloat. That said I think going forward they are going to need to be really careful about how they communicate with the player base. If you are on the fence about this one and seeing the review bombs just know, the game is great. The dev communication and monetization aren't the best. But it's way better than D4 and a lot more enjoyable to try new builds than PoE. I prefer to mostly play my ARPGs Solo self found and like to work out creative or weird builds. The only games I've found that really work well with this playstyle are Grim dawn and Last Epoch.
