Larva Mortus

Not very complex, but that's nice. Reminding me to old days in which games were simple and quick. You can always come back for a few rounds just shooting monsters and undead with all kinds of weapons in an arcade way and if they're getting you too hard, you quite and come back another day. It's just cozy for people who enjoy grim and gothic scenarios :)

Indie but fun. It´s a top down shooter with a nice Mystery setting. Soundtrack is cool, so is the graphic novel style. Keeps me entertained for a good while. :-)

It's more mid paced than fast and that's not a bad thing. Fun game, reminds me of one of those you would see on one of those PC disk compilations. The ones that had games on there that were worth a damn.

Played on Steam Deck OLED Larva Mortus throws you into the boots of a 19th-century monster hunter, blasting through hordes of the undead in chaotic, randomly generated levels. It’s a no-frills, fast-paced top-down shooter with a satisfyingly dark atmosphere and plenty of creepy-crawlies to exterminate. The Good: Runs flawlessly on Steam Deck OLED (SteamOS) – even installed on a MicroSD card with zero issues. Fun, arcade-style action with decent replayability thanks to procedural levels. Perfectly captures that gothic, B-movie monster-hunting vibe. Simple but effective visuals keep the focus on frantic gameplay. The Caveats: No native controller support – I manually mapped keyboard controls to the Deck’s inputs. It works, but feels clunky. Gameplay can feel repetitive after a while (why I didn’t finish, though I enjoyed my time). Graphics are very basic – don’t expect modern polish. Verdict: I genuinely liked Larva Mortus for its straightforward, spooky action. It’s a great pick-up-and-play title for the Steam Deck, especially if you enjoy retro shooters. I recommend it, but with one HUGE request: PLEASE add native controller/Steam Deck support! This game would shine with proper gamepad integration. Until then, it’s functional but awkward. Worth a shot!

Games alright, gets a bit repetitive after a while.

I was never any amount of good at this, so I can't imagine I'd revisit it. But it was a good top-down shooter with hack 'n slash elements.
