About
In the 9th century, Vikings crossed the sea to establish the first settlements in Iceland, documented for the ages in the great book of Landnama. Select a clan and attempt to settle this unwelcoming land, but you’ll need to choose your strategy wisely to survive the ever increasingly harsh toll of winter and complete your saga.
The thrill of a dungeon crawler with the vibe of a city builder, Landnama is a survival strategy game that forces you to carefully decide your next step. Explore the land and discover hidden challenges and powerful landmarks. Build your settlement and brace for the punishing Winter’s Toll. Settle each region with differently skilled clans while facing ever increasing challenges and no second chances.
Only one resource exists in the game, Heart, but it must be invested wisely. Heart can be gained in many ways, whether you want to focus on exploring the land as a hunting clan or by building your settlement into a thriving production hub. Establish a completed settlement before winter takes your final heart, but how you get there is up to you.
This isn't your typical Viking game, there is no combat or raiding. These are farmers, explorers, and builders. But conflict isn’t missing, it comes in the form of a harsh winter that you’ll need every bit of your focus to survive.
Landnama is a taxing race against time with an ever present ticking clock pushing you always closer to winter, but it’s also a beautiful world where you can freeze time and enjoy the atmospheric music and art. Explore in detail the settlement you’ve built and the animated denizens that populate it.

This game is so good! But yes, it's short, it will be amazing to have expansions for others cultures and places. I think I'll have to create myself with some friends a game like this, hehe. I bought on sale (60% off) it was worth!

It's a small repetitive game which I really enjoy. It doesn't have much going on but if you like this kind of games were you try to test yourself to complete it faster or score higher (or getting all the achievements) then this is a good game for you.
You wanna play Civ, but without all those pesky mechanics like diplomacy, war, or a whole lot of choices? Well have I got a game for you. Played for a total of 4 hours, beat the 'saga', and felt like I basically got a load of the entire game. You just need to make sure that you've got the resources at the end of each year and then keep plugging along. Explore, build, repeat. All around a chill game to play when you can't think of anything else to play. I don't regret buying it, but I can't see myself playing it for any extended period of time.
This is a very good game. Great visual style and soundtrack. The gameplay and mechanics are very interresting, and perfectly captures the vibe of being an early settler. You can easily be having a good time, only to have a single mistake ruin everything. Highly recommend buying it.
遊戲中詛咒機制,在普通難度下還是嚴苛,很容易出局。詛咒,並非是生產力問題,而是隨發展規模,逐級提高。
An interesting mix between Roguelike, City Builder, Strategy and Survival.
"Landnama" gefällt mir ganz gut. Leicht zu erlernen und ausreichend motivierend für ein Strategiespiel, um als Gelegenheitsspiel zu taugen. So richtig gefangen hat es mich aber nicht. Trotzdem denke ich, es ist im Sale allemal sein Geld wert. Werde "Landnama" bestimmt nochmal herauskramen und ihm einen zweiten Anlauf gönnen. The big thing to me is that it seems to punish cleverness and/or efficiency, the difficulty of each winter is based on the amount of resources your colony can produce, meaning you are punished for quickly ramping up production but rewarded for keeping it artificially low. It's also real time rather than turn-based, despite everything happens at the end of discrete units of time, which makes it indistinguishable from turn-based except for the fact the player is forced to sit and watch bars go up. These two design choices made the game feel like it was just dragging out the length of the game for no good reason I can see. As a puzzle there's not a lot of different choices to make or options to consider, it's not pretty enough to really motivate exploration, nor is the narrative really something I could get engrossed in. I like the theming, and if the developers had rewarded cleverness instead of punishing it I think this could have been a nice, light, little puzzle-like experience, but as it stands I don't see this game living through the winter.
