Ku: Shroud of the Morrigan is a deeply flawed game. It tells a story of a young hero Ku who is on a wondrous and treacherous journey to help his village. The game is heavily inspired by motives of Irish folklore, post-apocalyptic setting and a hidden story about environmental danger we put our world at all the time. Is it good though? Well, no... but it comes close to it. Ku SOTM has unique and captivating hand written graphics that look great and inspiring. Writing is not to shabby as well, though there isn't much of it in the game. Ku plays like a light version of Diablo hack and slasher with occasional spatial puzzles peppered throughout the game. Design of the enemies is definitely a highlight, since they can be beautiful and horrifying at the same time. It pretty much feels like a classic European folk tale: it is equally dazzling, mysterious and disturbing at the same time. That's where the pluses end. Speaking about the darks side of things, game is too short, and you can complete it in 2-3 hours if you're completionist. It also ends on an open cliffhanger, which definitely does not help in overall experience. An important piece of game mechanic, dodge / roll action is broken since it's unresponsive and hardly useful in combat. There will be times when you'll dodge enemies’ attacks with ease, but most of the time, dodge button just won't react to your clicking or will activate with a major delay. Sound and music is unfortunately way too simple and border-line irritating with its clanking and banging. Ku really is a tough sell. By all accounts I should give it a negative recommendation, but I did enjoy my time with it. I really hope that its developers will continue evolving their craft and deliver us the shinning sequel this game deserves. Plus, you can play it on Gaelic which makes the entire experience truly magical. So yes, I'll give it a careful recommendation, but know it is a deeply flawed game.
The story seemed cool, I wanted to see what would happen in the next chapters... and then, the game breaking bugs happened. As of now, the website for this game is some sort of Asian search engine or something. I waited for a new chapter for this long. I don't think anything beyond this gathering dust on my harddrive is going to happen now.
I really like this style of Action RPG. I see so many people complaining about things I personally feel are nitpickings. The sound effects remind me of older games, some SNES favorites came to mind (Secret of Evermore, Zelda) The graphics aren't the highest quality, but I don't ever really care, I grew up on grids of colored squares, this is fine. I like hand drawn games, and this genre is probably my favorite. The game progresses quickly, and I do not mind that at all. I enjoy a game I don't have to invest half a year to beat. I also look for titles that will play on even my lowest systems, I own alot of various computers, and it is not often that the game I am currently working on will play on a majority of the lesser endowed machines. It is a decent game, short but decent. For games on the $5 tab, it does pretty well IMO. Budget games have their drawbacks, this is at least playable and nice to look at (and they aren't wasting your time with the length) I am not calling it GoTY, but it does not deserve this BS low rating.

tl;dr Reasonably decent port of an average mobile game, just don't expect anything amazing. Around ~1.5 hours. It's not awful, but not particularly good either. I would rather give this a neutral rating, but given the many negative ratings (which seems a bit unfair to me) I'll stick with a positive one - I didn't feel like I "lost two hours", but there are certainly many, many better games out there. Overall it feels like what you'd expect from a mobile port for a rather short adventure game. The mouse only control scheme isn't as bad as I thought it'd be, but there are some places where you can briefly get stuck in the terrain (easy to fix, but the rate at which this occurred became annoying). There are some nice moments to the story, but as a whole it's rather bland, cliche, and unnecessarily leaves a lot of unknowns to make room for a sequel(s). The combat is boring point and click as you'd expect, with roll and stun features too. Like the movement it can feel clunky, but it's simple enough that it doesn't heavily detract from the game. It's rather short, probably ~1.5 hours even with looking through every nook and cranny (I had some afk time). On a side note, if you expected this to be "thematically appropriate" for St. Patrick's day or other Irish festivities like I did you should look elsewhere. It has Gaelic names and one guy playing vaguely Irish music in the first act but that's about it; the rest looks more like Mad Max than Ireland.
Looks good on small screens but doesn't hold up on big monitor, unique visuals lose it's charm when you can see some problems, gaps between tiles, low resolution, blurry images. This is mobile game port so gameplay is very clunky, slow, overly simplified and not very enjoyable.
