Yeah don't I stuggle to describe how this game plays. It has 6DOF movement, but On-Rails combat by rubberbanding the enemies to always be in your FOV. You're also expected to solve switch puzzles and avoid stage hazards as the enemies orbit around you. Heath does not refill and if you use the boost to dodge a projectile the game fires you into a offscreen asteroid causing you to take damage anyway. It's as if the developer wanted to play every arcade shooter simultaneously. The horrible mouse implementation makes this super frustrating to play. There's a hard coded inverse acceleration curve causing small movements of the mouse to be exaggerated, while large movements are dampened or ignored.
I'm a fan or arcade games, and I really love shmups. Playing this game is a delightful experience. I enjoy it as mas as Dodonpachi, and that's saying a lot. This is the first time that a shmup takes advantage of 3D in the right way. I had to check twice if these guys were Treasure (company), because this game has the same quality as Radiant Silvergun and Ikaruga.
I very much enjoy this game and it has my full recommendation. There is one nitpick I have, and that would be the lack of a camera change option that the PS4 version has. Again, phenomenal game, it is just odd that it is missing that feature
Style over substance shooter. Zooming around the environment and finding secrets while shooting stuff is cool, but the fun factor wavers. Different crafts enable different styles of play, but you're mostly strafing, shooting, and boosting away. It can't stand up as a shooter alone, but the environments deliver the cybervibes very well not unlike Rez or Lightfield.
what an amazingly cool game, it's like REVOLVER360 RE:ACTOR but not on rails. massive maps in which you have complete freedom to fly about (enemies / structures permitting), the object to collect a series of rift fragments scattered about, after which the imposing boss will appear; epic fights ensue. there is only a time constraint if you rush towards the boss, causing more enemies to harrass you; throughout the levels are simple combination puzzles that net bonuses if completed - different armor sets (which you can use on the four levels after having beat them with the default setup) are likewise stowed away. criminally underrated, well worth the money if hectic shooters / score-attack-type games are your bag - no one should pass up on a 50% sale. EDIT: my goty 2018, which is the game i found to be the best of those ive played within the particular year.
If you like Rez Infinite, you'll like this game. This one has a much better soundtrack than RI though.

Great atmosphere and game
Nothing feels better than a sideways drift after a strong boost. =3
