ОГРОМНОЕ СПАСИБО STRATEGY FIRST!!!!
Looks like a great cheesy early 2000's shooter, but awful tutorial experience, (which was standard practice back then), and running was nullified by what I guess is a technical issue. Requesting refund.
KREED: Battle for Savitar, developed by Burut CT and published on Steam by Strategy First, is a science-fiction first-person shooter that firmly embraces the design philosophy of early-2000s FPS titles. Originally conceived as an expansion to the cult-classic Kreed, this installment places players in the middle of a desperate interstellar conflict centered on the strategic stronghold of Savitar. Rather than reinventing the genre, it leans into straightforward gunplay, linear mission structure, and atmospheric sci-fi settings, offering a focused and nostalgic combat experience. The narrative framework situates players as a soldier caught in a large-scale cosmic war between humanity and alien forces. Savitar, a crucial orbital station, becomes the epicenter of escalating hostilities. While the story unfolds primarily through mission briefings and in-game environments rather than cinematic cutscenes, it captures the tone of classic space-operatic conflict. The sense of isolation aboard cold metallic corridors, abandoned research facilities, and distant celestial outposts reinforces the tension of humanity’s precarious position in the galaxy. Gameplay adheres to traditional first-person shooter fundamentals. Players progress through largely linear levels, clearing rooms of hostile forces and advancing toward clearly defined objectives. Combat is reflex-driven, emphasizing weapon selection, positioning, and environmental awareness. The arsenal includes a variety of futuristic firearms and energy-based weapons that fit the sci-fi aesthetic. Each weapon delivers distinct firing patterns and effects, encouraging tactical adaptation depending on enemy types and spatial constraints. Enemy design ranges from humanoid adversaries to alien creatures with varied attack patterns. Encounters are often staged in waves or scripted sequences, reinforcing the structured nature of the campaign. While enemy AI reflects the design conventions of its era—occasionally predictable and aggressive rather than adaptive—it remains serviceable in maintaining pressure during firefights. Boss encounters and larger-scale battles punctuate the campaign, adding moments of intensity that contrast with corridor-based skirmishes. Visually, KREED: Battle for Savitar carries the aesthetic signature of early 3D shooters. Environments feature industrial textures, metallic architecture, and expansive space backdrops. While modern players may notice dated modeling and animation, the art direction effectively conveys a sense of scale and interstellar warfare. Lighting effects and particle explosions enhance combat sequences, even if they lack the polish of contemporary engines. The game’s presentation evokes a specific era of PC gaming, appealing to players who appreciate retro-futuristic design. Sound design contributes to immersion through echoing gunfire, mechanical ambience, and atmospheric background tracks. The audio reinforces the isolation and danger of space-based combat scenarios. While voice acting and narrative delivery remain minimal compared to modern story-driven shooters, the environmental cues and soundscape sustain the mood of high-stakes conflict. One of the defining aspects of KREED: Battle for Savitar is its commitment to classic FPS pacing. There are no elaborate skill trees, open-world exploration, or multiplayer systems dominating the experience. Instead, it offers a concentrated single-player campaign where progress is measured through mission completion and escalating difficulty. This simplicity can be refreshing for players seeking focused action without modern genre complexities. However, those accustomed to contemporary shooter innovations may find the structure somewhat rigid. The Steam release ensures compatibility with modern systems, preserving the game’s legacy while making it accessible to new audiences. For long-time fans of early 2000s PC shooters, the title represents a preserved piece of genre history. For newcomers, it offers insight into the design priorities of that era—emphasizing mechanical shooting fundamentals over cinematic spectacle. Ultimately, KREED: Battle for Savitar succeeds as a retro-styled sci-fi shooter that prioritizes direct combat and atmospheric settings. It does not strive for groundbreaking innovation, but it delivers a solid, focused experience rooted in classic FPS traditions. For players who appreciate linear campaigns, straightforward firefights, and space-themed warfare, it provides a nostalgic yet still engaging journey through humanity’s battle for survival among the stars.
Remember to limit the FPS in Nvdia control panel, otherwise movement speed will be slow on some systems. 120 should still be fine.
