About
Cast out as a nobi with nothing to your name, each day in Joseon begins with survival.
Find your own food and shelter, gather resources, build a home and a base, and continue hunting, crafting, fighting, and exploring with up to 8 players.
Gather materials from the wilds, find a place to settle, and craft what you need one piece at a time. Hunting, fishing, farming, logging, and mining all become part of the foundation you need to endure and move forward in Joseon.
Up to 8 players can share the same world, gather resources, raise buildings, prepare equipment, and continue exploring and fighting together. Divide up gathering, crafting, building, and combat preparation as you grow the foundation for your life in Joseon.
Build with hanok-style structures and furniture, store your resources, and shape a space for crafting and daily living. Even the humblest beginning can become a place to endure in Joseon.
Bandits, tigers, and hostile factions may stand in your way. A small fight may end quickly, but some encounters can grow into larger battles with many people caught in the chaos.
Across Joseon, certain ruins and special locations are home to unique companions with their own personalities. They can travel and fight with you, and also help with resource work. In castles, you can meet dogs and cats, while horses can be tamed and used for travel.
Discover over a hundred ruins and notable locations, follow quests, or earn money by trading local specialties and goods.
From everyday clothes to official robes, armor, hwan-do swords, bows, spears, matchlocks, and tools, collect and equip a wide range of Joseon-era gear as you make your own way through the world.
You can dream of earning your freedom, distinguish yourself through your deeds, and rise to official office. Beyond that, the path may even lead you to Hanyang and the central council.
Survive each hungry day, find a place to stay and people to stand beside you, and make a place for yourself in Joseon.

I'll probably keep coming back to this game for 20-30 minute intervals, since it's a lot to take in. I really enjoy the world they are working to create. I like the simple, pleasant music. I like the attention to detail with the many items, garments, and crafting recipes. The health/stat system seems to work pretty well. I'm excited to get to visit historical sites from actual Korea eventually. I'm revising my rating to now be 7/10, and recommending it more strongly than before. Thanks section: - I really wished for an easier play mode so I could explore the Joseon Korean landscape and culture in this game. Even those a very easy difficulty may not be the developers' preferred choice or vision for the game, I am SO excited that they built in this option!!!! Yay!! Maybe when I'm more familiar with the game I'll adjust the controls harder, but I want to give a special thanks shoutout for the development team adding this feature. - I can tell that the team shipped a lot of translation improvements since the last time I played. I can understand the written menu choices and conversations much more easily now. I also really like that I can still hear the spoken NPC dialog in Korean for authenticity. Wishlist: I wish the skill leveling mechanic were clearer. I finally leveled up in Woodcutting, but I still can't tell how many more sticks, radishes, and napa cabbages I have to gather before I can level up Gathering. Are some things worth more than others? No idea yet. Are hunting animals and killing bandits who attack me skills? No idea yet. The main thing motivating me to keep gathering carrots is that horses eat them, and I hope if I gather enough I can finally gather level 2 flowers or level 3 mushrooms that I see scattered around. It's a bit tiresome without understanding my progress. I wish the menus were a bit better organized. I feel like I usually open the menu when I want to craft something, but it requires an extra click that is confusing (or deadly if I need to craft a new weapon in the middle of combat because mine broke). I'm learning to have backups. Building is confusing, too. It took me 3 play sessions to remember how to actually craft pieces of structures. I wish the graphics were a bit more smooth, but I know that takes time and money. The camera clips through objects sometimes, and the visuals are jagged even on a fairly good game computer. This is a lesser concern to me though; gameplay, UI, balance, and controls are more important to me than graphics (I like Minecraft, too, after all). Overall - it has some real promise, even for gamers who are less familiar with Joseon Korea. I think it speaks well to the indie dev team that they continue to release regular updates and communicate detailed patch notes. It's fairly labeled an Early Access game right now, so maybe wait until it's on sale to buy it. But I DO recommend buying it!
