Quite challenging and enjoyable action roguevania, where it looks like you are constantly facing bosses because of the size of the enemies, but it's because you play as a little guy facing humans. You have different weapons to start with and you can find different upgrades during your run (every weapons has its own types of upgrades), besides other artifacts. You count with 3 HP only and the enemies have marks that act as weakspots, so you better be careful avoiding and hit them where it hurts for better damage. Boss fights are pretty cool and can be really challenging, but the runs are quite short, so retrying them won't cost you a lot of time. Also, I mentioned this is a roguevania when I started here... YES! You can find different permanent upgrades during your progress, which will grant you access to new areas, giving the game an extra touch of replayability (having a secret final boss for a true ending). Also, you can find nice and funny NPCs during your runs to help you with the metaprogression. Pixel art is pretty and music is good, no complains about any of those. Pretty solid 8/10 roguelike. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=amtCnEZ4XbM
EXCELLENT.
First playthrough is seemingly half a hour long, but if you just look around a bit, you can find a second biome to visit. This game is great but also absurdly frustrating at times due to absurd boss fights where the missiles follow you and hitboxes which are much larger than the missles. The farming mechanic and fishing mechanic are way too basic and don't really add much to the game in terms of distraction, but the favor points you get from these activities are definitely necessary for upgrades. Overall, it's a good game, but it's not something I'd buy full price and not something I'd play for more than 2-3 hours... unless trying to 100% the achievements, of course.
KOBOO IS LOVE, KOBOO IS LIFE. if you like action rogue-like side scrollers you will LOVE this game. i may just be a console gamer BUT this game has FULL CONTROLLER SUPPORT so i'm in luck. the default settings are pretty challenging if you suck like me but practice makes perfect and you can tweak them to make it insanely easy and it's still really fun. you can also make it extremely hard too. i was actually one of the first people in the world to get an achievement in this game and you could be too since it's a brand new UNDERRATED indie game. but you gotta act fast. the devs are super cool and chill and swagl0rds >9000 and they put so much love and dedication into this game that really shows. i strongly 11/10 recommend! this game is dope no cap ;)
An amazing game. The combat is fluid, the art and music are entrancing. I love the storyline so much!
Such a good game would recommend
This feels more like a school project or a rough experiment than a real game; it has the controls of an action platformer, but enemies are static sprites that don't move from their location, and have weak points pop up like in a shooter or RPG. Dodging their attacks is trivial since you can move freely, or as freely as the controls, which are *extremely* clunky, permit. The game's performance is poor, and compounding the frame stutter is the seemingly random hitstop added to various actions, such as: jumping. The graphics have love put into them but are very amateurish, with mismatched resolution muddying up what might otherwise be charming raster art. The music sounds like royalty-free stuff, and the plot is nearly non-existent as far as I can tell. It's absurd at $15, and I can't even recommend it for $5. There's the seed of a good game buried in here somewhere, but it needs to be redone from scratch to uncover it.
Fantastic little game with a lot of heart, beautiful art, and amazing gameplay. It's a good challenge, while not being brutal. The combat felt very unique and fun, fighting giant humans as a little spirit.
very good game but ranged weapons are a bit weak from what i cud play with, and buggs run way to fast to catch them
Great little roguelite. This is one of those games that gets more and more enjoyable the longer you stick with it and unlock stuff. It becomes a great way to kill 10-15 minutes. The critical hit system is unique and it feels great when you score one. The music its exciting and the sound design is very effective. I really enjoyed the little bits of story and dialogue you get between fighting enemies.
