Koboo's pixel art makes Leonardi Da Vinci look like he was depicting life-long lead poisoning victims. The gameplay is tight. Melee weapons and even the orbs feel really good to use -- the boomerang and thorns not so much, although Thorns is useful. The music is good, which is further complemented by the use of dialogue. Characters like the fish are pithy. The game is simple enough to pick up mechanically, takes a little time to master and still does a clever trick trying to subvert your expectations with the first boss. I'd have been happy if I'd paid for this.

The content available in this free prologue feels very complete and polished. The weapons, skills, and unique mechanics are very well thought out. Both the art and animation are also amazing. Even though it's essentially a demo, the game is significantly difficult (as a souls-like should be.) It took me a couple of tries to get past the first boss. The game feels very smooth and I could very well see myself playing this for hours. There are also lots of accessibility features, including ones that decrease difficulty, which is nice to see this early on.
So much content for a free prologue! I cant wait to see the full game when its done! Definitely going to be playing more of this in my free time.
Such an addicting and enjoyable game loop! I love the dynamic system of upgrades, and the combat feels amazing!

I love this game's art and the aesthetic is great.
Controls feel clunky and, in my opinion, the game just doesn't feel great to play. Also, the art style looks great in stills, but in motion, just doesn't make the grade.
Really like the art style, combat is fun. classic rogue-like experience.
