This game is full of fun! the developers are still working on expanding the options in game, i'm looking forward to them! the game is simple, grab a knife or axe, trow it to your opponent, be fast, be accurate, be a real ninja! ( just dont make salto's ) When you get this game better also get on discord to challenge others https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z5jPhNaux08
The game is really fun to play when you hit your friend in the face with a knife or an "ax" :) For now it's just a multiplayer game, but i am heard it will be also single player. Developers are on the forum very active and it's really great to see those days. The game needs more content, but they are at the beginning so we'll see what's coming. This is a new game that is really fresh because i did not play VR games where you just killing with a knife. A very fun game, you have to try if you have a VR. Overall, the game really has the potential.
Knife Club VR is a fast-paced online combat game which puts you into a knife fight with other players.
[GAMEPLAY] You'll spend most of your time ducking behind a partially destructible barrier and dodging knifes, while peeking out to throw them at your opponents. You can also rush to your opponents side to get up close and personal, but it would be leaving yourself quite open while doing it. There isn't really much else to this game to talk about, but the gameplay is incredibly fun and brings out the competitive nature of those playing it well. You can either play 1v1 or 2v2 matches. There's also a practice area, but only with static targets. There is no single player. It's online multiplayer only. Throwing the weapons is difficult to aim, as I imagine throwing actual knifes would be, but that's part of the charm of the game. You can either aim at your opponent or use the larger weapons to try and break down part of their barricade. To win, you'll both need your skill to aim the weapons and to choose the best action to take. If you successfully kill your opponent, new weapon skins can be unlocked by winning matches which is a nice extra for the game. There are currently a total of four levels, all with the same basic layout of a barricade on each side and an area between, but otherwise looking unique. The fourth level is a recent addition. [LOCOMOTION] The default movement style is to grab and move yourself along in a swimming motion as it describes it. This felt quite awkward to me at first and for moving a lot it still does, but actually works quite well for side to side motion needed in combat. There is also an option for trackpad which you can use either on the left or right hand. [GRAPHICS AND SOUND] Graphically, the game is quite nice for a small indie game. The environment and weapons have a good amount of detail. The background music fits nicely too, adding to the atmosphere. [ISSUES] The major issue with the game is that it's only 1v1 or 2v2 and finding people online is a huge problem. I've only played after specifically arranging a game with someone or once where I managed to get into a match with a dev by random chance. Other times I've been waiting around without being able to find a match. There is a single player mode in the future plans, but for now it's a problem. Joining the Discord channel appears to be the best way to find people to play with, but even then it seems to depend on the hours you play as to whether you can find a match. I will say that the developers do seem very active in their Discord chat and I've seen a lot of feedback saying they listen to their player base which is always a positive. Voice chat is currently not implemented, but it's on the roadmap. It would add quite a bit of fun to the game to be able to communicate with your opponents and teammates. The Discord channel does provide voice chat though. [CONCLUSION] As mentioned, there doesn't seem to be much to the game despite how fun it is. I feel like I've seen the majority of the game in less than 30 minutes aside from unlockables. With that said, I'd quite happily continue playing it further. I do think that £15/$20/€20 feels far too much for the current content even with the VR price premium. That said, with just fun how the gameplay is and that it's very new and in Early Access, it's certainly one to watch and could certainly become worth it in the future. Overall, I'd recommend this game with the caveat that you wait until it's on sale or more content is added.
You jump in to what looks to be a practice room, everything you need to know is explained to you here, perfect way to start. I hit 1 on 1, and i'm thrown into a game with one of the devs and I win! BOO YA! Since I have been testing out this game, I have seen so many improvements that I know these guys have what it takes to keep making this game amazing. It's already great, everytime I play, I have to play at least 3 rounds, I get tired pretty easy being an out of shape developer myself... so I don't play long, but I come back to the awesomeness. Just a few things that they have fixed/added in the past couple weeks alone... - improved weapon grabbing - improved netcode - Knife unlocks... YES! Amazing. Well done guys, well done.
It is fresh and intense multiplayer fun. We are testing every multiplayer game and this one is one of our favorites 1v1 so far. And i bet it's even better in 2v2 mode!
Knife Club VR - Throwing knives at random people has never been so much fun!
This is one of the most fun I have had in a vr multiplayer game in a long time! Bold words I know so let me back it up with fact. My usual approach to reviewing vr is to do a first try video, make some notes. If the game is complex then a couple of days later I do another test, repeat until I get a good feel for the game. Well in this game I had so much fun on the first try that I was straight back in after the video was uploaded (the downside is I do not have any notes lol). The game is very basic in concept, you play either 1v1 or 2v2 attempting to throw sharp objects into the other player before they throw them into you. There is plenty of destructible cover between you that you will soon find yourself ducking behind a table as the door you were behind shatters. Usually, on a game where you throwing things it means that you are putting your controllers, tv, breakables, and small furry friends at risk, in Knife Club that is not the case. The throwing mechanic is the real star here, it is frankly perfect, you do not need to use a full throwing arc. Roomscale / Environment / Graphics The maps are well made with good thought put into cover and balance. Unlike most vr games you have a full body, this is good as it allows for plenty of places to insert sharp objects (do not worry, you can pull them out and return them to their owners :) ). The characters have a cartoony feel to them that makes the game a bit more light-hearted than if the developers had used army soldiers and this works very well to make the game feel more a “hey let’s have fun and a bit of a laugh”. Though in my second play of the game my avatar got pinned to a table and as it hung there lifeless with the big smile on its bandana it did feel a little awkward. Performance The game is in alpha and does need some optimising, however, once you get playing you will not notice the minor issues. That said, it is more stable than some other alphas I have played. Intuitiveness The sharp end of the weapon goes into the enemy, repeat as needed. Really you can not get much more intuitive than that! Multiplayer This is a multiplayer only game, so yes, the multiplayer is important and in this case, the multiplayer is very good. I had no problem finding a game and they have a discord channel which is a good place to set up matches. I found the lack of voice chat a bit disappointing however, it is something the developer hopes to add (and the aforementioned discord channel does have voice channels, not ideal but a good workaround while the game is in alpha status). The community I met online (which in my second play included more than the developer team) were very friendly, there was virtual high fives, handshakes, and occasional hugs. There was a spirit of fun and friendship not often found in online competitive games. I do feel though that the game would benefit from a lower price point to encourage a larger base of users, it’s current price point of $20 (£14.99) puts it at a reasonable mid-range price level but, with so much shovelware on the market any price over £10 for a multiplayer only title has consumers cautious. Pros:

Developers that really care about the game and do sit ready to play it online (as evidenced by my first try video). This is no shovelware.
The game is genuinely fun and addictive.
The community is fun and supportive (a real rarity in these type of competitive games).
The throwing mechanic is perfect and will not have you smashing your controllers.
A good balance between fun and realism ensures even the worst player at the game has fun (that may or may not have been me during my tests lol).
A robust physics system that does allow you to do things like bounce the knife of the ceiling.
An unlock system, the more you win the better-looking knifes you can “pass” to the other players.
Cons:

Although reasonably priced it could stand to go lower to attract a wider community.
The game is in alpha state and does need optimising.
First Try Video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1dCweLI1gDw Verdict This is a really good game and I highly recommend it. I know that it is in alpha status and that will turn some off from it, but, I have to say it is one of the most stable alphas I have played (and I have played a fair share lol). I look forward to meeting you in the knife arenas!
So much fun, quickly becoming my most played game. Great fast action, heaps of laughs as you duck/dodge and dive around the room. Great as is now and with active, open devs will only get better. 11/10
I wish I could give this game a positive review. Mostly because I'm a VR enthusiasts and would love to see a game of this type succeed with. Woudln't it be great to have several multiplayer PvP options in Steam VR? In fact, I can hardly review this game because I didn't play it. I waited 30 minutes in queue to start a game on a Sunday night. There were no players to play with. I tried 1 v 1 for about 25 of those minutes. I know some people may talk about getting on discord to find players. Sorry, most players will not do that and they can't play this game if there are no players. There are no bots and practice mode is just throwing knives at a stationary target. It's really just a waiting room for pvp. I practiced for those 20 minutes. That's not fun enough. Rating 4/10 Just needs A LOT MORE PLAYERS or BOTS or SINGLE PLAYER MISSIONS or ALL THE ABOVE NOTE: I will be happy to change my review to positive if devs update game with bots or single player as they have indicated are in the works
Knife Club VR is addicting and I love it. The devs are super active and friendly too, fixing bugs as they pop up. I can't wait to see how it improves.
